  1. I have the new harness, that's what's in the first picture. The wires going to the old harness, that's the issue. There are two, where it looks like I need three. Plus I don't know which goes to what part of the harness.
  2. OK, my alternator burned out the other day and I'm trying to replace it. However, the three wire harness on it was also burned up, and so were a good chunk of the wires, so I'm not sure what goes where. To make matters worse, what I have in the old harness doesn't match up with the new harness. The new three wire harness looks like this: http://www.wease.net/86/NewHarness.JPG Two orange/black wires and a smaller white/black one. But I only have two wires going to the old harness in the car, the are both orange and black: http://www.wease.net/86/OldWires.JPG It looks as though no smaller wire was going to that harness. But in that same wire loom, there is a yellow wire that goes to the fender, probably a ground. But that wire was NOT going into the old harness. Any idea what I should do and what goes where? I was looking at this wiring diagram, but I don't know if that helps me any. Any thoughts from you Fox Body guys? Keep in mind, I just bought a refurbed alternator from Advanced, this not an aftermarket one...
  3. 2000 Firebird Formula WS6 Oh wait. I sold it because it was too slow...
  4. Newsgroups are good, but I'm far too cheap to pay for a good service. Torrents are free, hence I use them...
  5. So just getting a replacement one for my make/model at Autozone or the like is no good?
  6. Thanks Mike. I'll make sure I replace that as well. I hope that's all the problem was...
  7. Going to work this morning, I'm along Riverside near the zoo driving the '86. I smell something burning, then my radio starts cutting in and out. I pull into the new zoo entrance and the car dies. I get out and sure enough, there is smoke coming out from under the hood, just a little bit. I pop the hood and my alternator is on fire. Not like huge crazy flames, but just a small flame. I don't have anything to disconnect the battery and I didn't want it to get worse, so I called 911 and had the fire department come out. They disconnected it and all is well. Just need a new alternator now. I have no idea what could have caused it. I just put a new battery in the car, and don't run any powerful stereo equipment or anything. I'm pretty sure it's the original alternator though. And it's a 21 year old car. So who knows...
  8. Negative. I haven't been down there in years. I try not to stray south of I-70...
  9. This might be why I'm almost never sick. I almost never take medicine and I don't ever think about getting sick. About the only things I take on occasion are claritin or something similar if my allergies are really bad and I can't breathe, or if I truly am sick and can't sleep well, I'll take some NyQuil to help me sleep. I've thought for years that Americans are also too worried about "anti-bacterial" this and that. Some bacteria is good. Gives your body practice fighting things off. If you don't give it that chance to practice, it's no good when you really do get something bad...
  10. This is such a load of horse crap. There should be no "pleading down", the whole thing should be thrown out. What a fucking joke. Good luck Sam...
  11. Jason Fowler did mine in the '86. He's on this board as Stolen 5.0, I think...
  12. Damn Casey, sorry to hear that. I've been there before, it's no fun. Is this why you mentioned something about selling your car, or was that totally unrelated?
  13. I once got a blowjob from my wife while running down that track. That's how lax they are. OK, I made that up. But you get the point...
  14. I agree with that. There's a reason Lima has like the cheapest cost of living of all the major cities in Ohio. My mother-in-law lives up there and seriously, there is no area I'd even remotely like to live in. Another one of my wife's relatives lives up there and when we told them how much we paid for our house in Delaware/Powell, they were like "OMG, we'd never pay that much for a house, ever!" And I wanted to say "Well you live in LIMA, that's why!"
  15. FYI, in the future, when you sell anything automotive related, write up a receipt. Make two copies and you both sign them along with your printed names. The receipt should state that you are selling X as is, with no warranty. So if the buyer decides to bring the law into that sale, at least you have your copy of the receipt backing up the transaction. I've done that with just about every car I've ever sold. I've never had a buyer NOT sign it either...
  16. If that's the case, don't sell it. Unless you REALLY need the money for something else. Just my $0.02...
  17. I hear ya. What are you gonna replace it with if you do? You know what's crazy? I could sell my Cobra right now for MORE than I paid for it, that's how good the value is on it. But I won't sell it, unless I'm upgrading to a C6 Z06...
  18. No offense, but I'd jump ALL over $18K if you are serious. That's a great deal on your car. You figure I sold mine a little over two years ago for $14,500. I tried to sell it modded for like $17K or so. Mine was a 2000, yours an '02. I had less miles on mine than you have on yours now. So you figure they should be about worth the same as when I sold mine. You'd be lucky to sell yours for $15K all stock. $18K with mods is a great price, in my opinion...
  19. That's the thing right there, because more than likely you will be selling it to someone who won't care if God himself did the work. We know he at least touched the motor, it's an LSX. I went through the same thing when I sold my Formula, except you have FAR more money in your car than I did. I tried to sell it modded at first and got no bites. I put it back to stock, sold the parts, and sold it in about a month. I'm also of the mindset that mods don't add value to a used car, they bring it down. Like I'd probably never buy a modded 03/04 Cobra. If I did, the first thing I'd do is take it to Brian to make sure it had a good tune...
  20. Girl? You switch teams again?
  21. Now $150. Some college student on here has got to need this...
