  1. Shame on him, driving it in the salt. Get a beater for crying out loud...
  2. Nice! My brother has one of those, thanks to me. I told him about the Regal GS and he found one owned by an older guy that was in mint condition and low miles. He got a great deal on it. He loves it. I was looking for one before I found my SVT Contour that I just couldn't pass up. The Buick would have been more comfortable and has more straight line power, but the Contour is just flat out more fun to drive in the curves. Still, I would have taken either car for a beater. Congrats again...
  3. Meh, I qualify for a "smaller" check. And this is NOT the way to solve economic problems...
  4. There's only one thing in the SI Swimsuit issue that I want to be lickable...
  5. LOL, the weatherman f'd up again. More "snow storms" like that please...
  6. You're right about the AWD. My wife found out today. She's been using it for work and hasn't had one issue with traction...
  7. I would say that's the biggest problem with them, is resale value. My Mountaineers have always been reliable and have a lot of options, but they really take a hit after you buy them new. Hence I'd never buy one new, or any new car for that matter.
  8. Well, we made our decision. We ended up finding a very nice, 2005 Mercury Mountaineer. 32K miles, V8, AWD, every option including parking assist and the DVD player. It's a pearl white exterior and tan interior. Perfect shape, turned in from a lease, picked it up for $15K. I've had previous style Mountaineers and always thought they were a good value. We were looking at a Honda Pilot with the same options and mileage for around $23K and I just couldn't justify spending $8K more on another SUV. Especially since this one has all time AWD and a V8, in case I need to tow something. So it worked out pretty well and the wife is happy...
  9. Drop-In's are only really busy when the college kids are home. Like around Christmas, it was crazy busy. I'm going to one tonight, at Chiller North, and I'm betting there will be maybe 20 people total there. Usually there are two goalies. It's $12 to get in, $10 if you play in a league. The level of play is really up and down. I've seen former pros to D level players there. I'd say the average level is C to B. Check it out, I took some vids a few weekends ago of me playing pond hockey with my dogs:
  10. This is why I don't play ice hockey in a league anymore. I play drop in only and another night where I know someone that rents out the ice...

    Mitt Quits !

McCain's still better than the Socialist party. I mean Democrat party...
  12. I had another '86 Mustang GT back when I was 21. I drove it for about 6 months, then realized there was no way I was going to be able to make it through an upstate NY winter with it. I sold it, and always regretted it, until I found my current '86 GT, which is nearly identical, except for the air and cruise that this one has. The one I have now is in even better shape, so really, I guess I don't regret selling the first one because it led me to the second one. I've always been on the fence about my '93 Cobra. I had it for about 6 months before someone hit it in a parking lot. It was pretty messed up and I was really upset about it. I was in the Air Force at the time and the security policeman that wrote up the report ended up buying it from me after it was fixed. I broke even on it, and at the time, it was costing me a lot to drive and insure, but thinking back, it would have been nice to keep that as well. They just hold their value so well. Mine had 40K miles on it and was all stock. I was too broke to even do any mods: http://www.wease.net/pics/Cobra1.jpg
  13. No they can't. Only one can claim.
  14. LMAO @ the people getting large returns. Don't give the government anymore money than you already have to. Adjust your withholdings so you don't get such a large return. Get more money, invest more money, make more money. It's just that simple. That being said the wife and I owe about $250 this year. Bingo!
  15. My mother just flew out here with them 2 weeks ago, out of Oakland. I paid $61 round trip. Couldn't beat that. She said the flight and everything else was fine. Snacks were expensive, but she just didn't buy any. You also have to pay $5 for your luggage, per bag, each way. Still, if you get some very cheap tickets, you can't beat that deal, no matter how bad the service is or rude the attendants are. Sucks about their west coast flights being cancelled. I'm just glad I got my mother out here for $61 when I did...
  16. It's official, the Rainier is gone. So now I've got to buy something for sure, LOL. Probably this weekend I'll be buying a vehicle of some sorts. I'll post up what I get. Thanks for the responses...
  17. Yup. If you are just doing HTML with pics and text, you could use Notepad or the like. If you are developing an interactive site, with a DB, etc., it's far better to use an IDE...
  18. Ugly or not, I'd still take that over an apartment anyday...
  19. Yeah, I did have one. It was OK. But it was the older style. I like the newer ones much better. However... We looked at an '05 'Gator vs. an '04 Sequoia side-by-side at Carmax today and I honestly like the Sequoia better. Just seemed to be more solid, better quality interior and just nicer all over. If the Sequoia wasn't 2WD, we'd probably seriously consider it. So we're still looking...

    Day 1

I want Sam's job. Dude has more money to spend on cars than Anthony...
  21. Looking in the $15K - $25K range. Haven't really made my mind up yet as to how much I want to spend...
  22. It was the old style Navigator, we weren't really impressed with it. The newer ones are much better...
  23. The insurance adjuster came out the other day, looks like the Rainier is going to be totaled. So the wife and I are going to start looking for something else. We've got a few things in mind: Full Size: Toyota Sequoia Lincoln Navigator Nissan Armada GMC Yukon Denali Mid Size: Mercury Mountaineer Lincoln Aviator Honda Pilot My wife wasn't that impressed with the Rainier. I liked it, but she drives it more than me, so it's really going to be her decision what we buy. I'd like something bigger, for my dogs and vacations that we take, but we could make due with a mid-size SUV as well. So if you have anything to add about any of these vehicles, feel free. Keep in mind that I don't buy new vehicles, anything I get would be a year or two old...
