Here are the player from the 2002 National Championship team that have been drafted. DEFENSE: DE Will Smith (1st round) DT Kenny Peterson (3rd round) DT Tim Anderson (3rd round) DE Darrion Scott (3rd round) OLB Cie Grant (3rd round) MLB Matt Wilhelm (4th round) OLB Rob Reynolds (5th round) CB Chris Gamble (1st round) SS: Mike Doss (2nd round) FS: Will Allen (4th round)/Donnie Nickey (5th round) OFFENSE: WR Mike Jenkins (1st round) WR Chris Gamble (1st round) QB Craig Krenzel (5th Round) LG....Adrianne Clark (7th round) C.....Alex Stepanovich (4th Round) RT.....Shane Olivea (7th round) TE.... Ben Hartsock (3rd round) That is every single starter on defense with the exception of Dustin Fox, who will get drafted next year. On the offensive side Clarett will eventually make it in the NFL but I don't know if it will be through the draft or not. Sims will also be drafted when his time comes. Bryce Bishop was picked up this weekend as a Free Agent. Ivan Douglas won't play in the NFL due to injury. That is a TON of talent on one team. When you factor in the number of players Miami had drafted from the losing side the amount of talent on that was on the field is staggering.

Let us know when you a) actually have a 10 second car yourself b) have a car that doesn't drive itself. Thank you and have a nice day. tongue.gif

Basz builds some fast cars. One of the fastest cars I've ever been in was that of a former Co-Worker whom had a 94 Civic hatch that was built by Basz. I believe it was one of the first cars that they built. Fully built turbo GSR, it dyno'd over 400whp and that was about 2.5 years ago. He has since gotten married, had to sell the car and then divorced. Never sell your cars for a woman!

Ok. How in the world can you say it's not fair that the imports want to run turbos but the V8's have to run NA, and then go on to say that it's no fair that the imports are (supposedly) spending more money? Is it run what you brung or isn't it? Can't have it both ways! Also, how do you figure you're going to run 6's for $25,000? You better run over to Lee Howie's shop, shoot you should write a book because I'm sure there are a LOT of shops and race teams that have been running 6's for years that would LOVE to do it for $25,000! Give me a freaking break! I stop reading when I read that BS!
-
OH SNAPS. Here we go again. Reality check time. smile.gif BEFORE HAND LET ME SAY THIS: This has nothing to do with my shop, I am just personally annoyed with at a lot of the BS being thrown around. Ok. So half a dozen Quantum Racing err Technologies cars go down to Cincinatti, yet the only car that races is Andrew's EVO while the other cars were probably doing what they do best and that is sitting in a parking lot. graemlins/wtf.gif Andrew's EVO that Quantum Rac oops Technologies (Why did you guys drop the racing anyway?) is pimping is not "their" car. "Their" meaning a car that they can point to and say "hey look what we can do". They keep saying it is, but it isn't. The owner of that car bought almost all, if not all of the parts from Bushur. The owner of that car is a BMW mechanic and did all the work on it himself. Quantum MIGHT have assisted with the application of a couple stickers. The owner of this Evo is a great guy, I mean no disrepect to him. He has a fast car. But Quantum pimping this car like it's one they had anything to do with is pathetic. I guess if you can't build a car that wins races and runs times, put stickers on one that will! graemlins/gay.gif The DSM is Jimmy's car, and when I saw it a few weeks ago it wasnt anywhere near anything resembling a car. Yet some squirel is offering it up for races? WTF? I do believe that Quantum had their name plastered all over his WRX too, and it didn't run nearly what it should have run for the $$$ and time invested. I remember thinking it didn't trap that well either, but I could be wrong. Jimmy is a great guy as well and I'm not trying to drag his car or name through the mud (I really liked that car) but he would probably be best served if you guys didnt talk his car up until it at least did something remarkable. Mark's black WRX burnt to the ground, and as far as I know it never raced anyone of note or anywhere of note. Not at a drag strip, not on the freeway, not on the street or at the autocross. A soot covered collection of parts. graemlins/nonono.gif Marks 97ish GSX never made it down any track either, and the only street race I heard of it being involved in was it LOSING to Jeff's FWD Laser from a dig. It had an 18G on it and a 2 step, but yet never made a pass down a track. Odd turbo choice. It sure was impressive in the parking lot though (where 2 steps are the most useful!). Talking trash with the Skyline that I'm sure Kyle and Tony put all the research into, and that isn't even done yet = gay. I'm sure Marks Evo is up to about 900hp and 8 second ET's by now, well theoretically anyway. OH THATS RIGHT, they put a GT35R on an autocross car! My bad! I guess they didn't think we could call BS if they say they were going to a track that has turns. :giggle: I'm sure you guys will take this personal, can't say I blame you, but I personally find whoring cars that have done nothing lame at best. Mark seems like a good guy, and I can't BELIEVE he is letting someone run around posting on boards like that. And don't reply saying that I think we at IPS are the greatest thing since sliced bread because I'm not trying to get at that at all. I'm just saying talk about how sweet your cars are (not someone elses cars that you claim is yours!) when they do something other than sit in a parking lot or car show. You may call it advertising, but it looks like Bazz - a shop that has built a LOT of fast cars - is calling you guys out. That is all. For now. And there still isn't an import in town that has run 10's yet. tongue.gif Cold Air

That was Howard posting BTW

You didn't put NWS anywhere in the thread, and I clicked the link.

It doesn't matter, the popular vote doesn't decide the winner of the election.

You apparently have not seen the Eric Haw highlight film. Maurice Hall, 99 times out of 100 was running outside of the tackles using his speed to outrun everyone. Eric Haw on the other hand runs well up the middle and has the power to break tackles. Another thing. Maurice Hall had TWO bad knees last season! He had knee surgery on both knees this off-season! When you realize this it is amazing that he even played at all. The fact that he was a warrior and played through those injuries without ever crying about it speaks volumes about what kind of guy he is. We have yet to see Maurice Hall's best.

Ok. If you are injury prone, it doesn't really matter if it's a college hit or an NFL hit. So how does it make sense to play two more years in college and make ZERO $$ doing so, but risk a career ending injury OR play one or two years in the NFL and get paid for it? I believe Clinton Portis was one of, if not the lowest paid running backs in the NFL and he made $300,000 a year with Denver. He just signed a deal woth $50 million with a 17 million dollar signing bonus. So play for free and get injured or play for $300,000 and get injured? hmmmmmmm Another point. Running backs have the shortest careers of any position in the NFL. I THINK the average career is 2-3 years. Playing that position inflicts an amazing amount of wear on the body and especially so for a player with a running style such as Clarett. If the body only has 6 years of playing near that level in it, why waste 3 years in college if you don't have to? I really don't see how anyone can argue that it doesn't make sense for him to enter the NFL. Not that he is going to get the chance now anyway.
-
NOTHING SPECIAL?? Eric Haw ran for 3,038 yards and 30 TD's this year, ran the 40 in 4.21 and 4.28 at the OSU camp, recoreded another sub 4.3 40 time at the Michigan camp and you say he is NOTHING SPECIAL? Even in the City League those stats are good and the 40 time is out of this world. graemlins/wtf.gif

I fail to see that logic that if you aren't going to last in the NFL due to injuries, you should spend more time playing college football and take more chances at injuries and not being able to play in the NFL at all. Clarett's times were on par with the other backs of his size at the combine. He also was a good student in HS and had good test scores. He was special when he was here, it's a shame he had to ruin it.
