  1. The main relay is a part that commonly goes out on those, especially when it starts to get warm outside and after the car has been sitting in the sun. The main relay is under the dash to the left of the gauge cluster. If you hit that side of the dash it will probably start up if the relay is sticking. Let me ask you this, do the dash lights come on when you turn the ignition?
  2. Poe Pimp - Your name wouldn't happen to be Alfred would it? If so I believe we have talked on the phone. At any rate we do work on 03 Cobras as well and can take care of whatever it is you need done. We have the mechanical and engineering expertise to work on everything. Check out our customer John's car in the pics section (try not to get distracted ) John's 03 Cobra
  3. ACTUALLY the 1992-95 Civic EX has a SOHC Vtec engine. The engine code is (ta da) D16Z6. I'm not sure where you are getting your information. People have been boosting D-series motors forever and if the motor is in good shape they can handle 12-14psi OR about 210whp with a thicker headgasket (proper fuel and tuning of course). One could say that bolting a Type-R engine into a Civic is "hardly worth it in the end" but it was worth it to you.
  4. Well everyone has to start somewhere. To this day I don't regret turbocharging my Civic, I just wish I had installed an exhaust on it instead of running the stocker. It wasn't fast but it was fun.
  5. You should be able to make 200whp on the stock bottom end, but it really depends on tuning and the condition of the motor. With a Greddy turbo kit you'll need to run 12-14psi for 200whp. You may want to install a Greddy metal headgasket for added safety. I also recommend Hondata for engine managment, and don't forget to upgrade that tiny intank fuel pump.

    injectors

Random misfire codes are not a result of running lean. It is 99.999 percent of the time caused by an injector that is either stuck closed or stuck open. This doesn't happen gradually, it happens in a split second and it can be an intermittent problem. Actually now that I think about it, she needs to take the car back to Ricart and have them look at it since she just bought it. I imagine it would at least have a 30day warranty.
  7. How much power are you trying to make? If you have a stock bottom end DSM injectors will get you to the maximum power levels you can make on it. Keep in mind that you must wire in resistors for them to work, or you can use the resistor packs that came in 1992-95 Prelude's.

    injectors

A random misfire code is usually thrown when the ECU detects an abnormal change in engine speed. You need to at least replace the injectors on the cylinders that misfired the first time, but I've often found that the other injectors fail shortly after. A temporary fix is tap the injectors with a screwdriver. I'm not sure what injector cleaner you used, but I've only had luck with Chevron's Techron cleaner. I doubt it will solve the problem but it's worth a shot. If you have another car to drive you can try having them repaired by Hite Parts Exchange on McKinnely Ave. Of the thousands of cars I've worked on I can't recall a single time when the problem wasn't the injectors.

    Directions to IPS

Drive down 71 to 5th ave. Turn right on 5th (heading west) and just take that thru campus area and across Olentangy Ave (near Buckeye Cafe). Go 1/2 mile and turn right on Delashmut Ave (right between the carwash and Mcdonalds) and follow it back 1/4 mile to 1484. If you hit King you went too far.
  10. When did they upgrade from rocks to bullets?
  11. Check the threads on the wheel studs and the lug nuts. Make sure that the wheel is sitting flat against the hub. You may need new lugnuts. Also torque them to 80 ft-lbs.
  12. I find it hard to believe that the reduction in charge air temperature seen with a intercooler/aftercooler doesn't more than offset the pressure loss. It may just not be evident on a dyno where there isn't much flow over the cooler.
  13. We don't discriminate either, we can make anything fast/faster. smile.gif Matter of fact I think we have an 03 Cob........
  14. Don't waste your time with that cocky bastard Steve at Tube Tech. If you aren't a high roller he won't help you.
  15. Sorry but unless you spray the car you are not going to win.
  16. /singing/ Desperado Why don't you come to your senses? /singing/
  17. If the current tune is good, he might have been running unsafe before making it a little faster. They are always the fastest right before they blow up.
  18. Stupid people are easy to ignore in small numbers.
  19. I actually recommend Chevron Techron fuel additive, it's the only stuff that I've found to actually work (though I've never tried the Lucas additive).
  20. Also forgot to mention take out your ear rings, oh knoes!
