  1. Do you have the stock airbox for the car?? If so, willing to sell it?
  2. For my roomates (which I may be buying) 94 GT 5-speed. The home made CAI isn't cutting it anymore. I'm looking for something CHEAP here; read that again, I don't want to spend much money at all. I'll also give next to nothing (but not nothing smile.gif ) for a stock airbox. Also need an EGR valve. I'm sure someone has done the !EGR mod and has one just laying around. smile.gif
  3. Then switch people!! In a lot of areas (but definately not all), either WOW or TW will also be in the area. If not, you can always go to Satellite (but it has it's own problems too). Though I'd still avoid DSL at all costs and suffer with their cable modem service if they are the only providers available.
  4. The SA DVR's haven't been out real long, and there are some conflicting stories about them. There is "supposed" to be some encryption of the data, but when looking at the diagnostic pages for the unit, encription is not enabled. Also, they just use plain, jane Maxtor Hard drives, and the 8300's even over an SATA port to hook up an external drive. Basically, not enough people have played with them to find out. I know the Firewire ports are disabled, so you can't transfer data that way, and the USB port is for diagnostic stuff only (which only SA would use). You could always use the HDMI output of the box to an HDMI input tuner card, and everything would still stay digital, but IMO that's more of a last resort option (and probably the most expensive option, if there are even any tuner cards out using HDMI inputs). So the quick answer is no, there isn't info available on doing it yet, but is likely it can be done.
  5. I haven't heard that, but it's no surprise. We keep taking their business, and it's killing them. Of course at that price, they are losing money having you as a customer. BTW, better add $10 to that price if you want to compare, as WOW gives the Starz/Encore package free to digital subscribers (and IMO Starz tends to have better movies than HBO/Showtime/Cinemax....and I have all of them).
  6. I'm assuming you aren't running a digital box on every TV. If it's fuzzy on all (and assuming it isn't a problem with all of the TV's, which is doubtful), you've got a cable problem. Since your house is newly built, the cable fittings behind the wallplates are highly suspect. These idiot builders slap on the cheapest cable fittings you can get, and even then don't put them on right. And this is if you are lucky enough to have a builder that doesn't wire the house with the cheapest RG59 crap no cable company has used in many years. The problem could be a large number of things though. As for the box, when I had Insight years ago, their box did have S-video outputs on it; are you sure they didn't give you one of their analog boxes. Also, digital channels should look clear, even if the analog channels don't. W/ digital, it is either all or nothing, you don't just get a fuzzy pic (you can get digital breakup, but that's never mistaken for a fuzzy pic). If the Digital pics aren't sharp, it's either: - Jumper between box and TV - TV itself - Box itself (but normally the above 2)
  7. That guy is a member of another board I moderate. He is selling it because he misses his 01 Viper RT/10, and is probably buying another. I can see how you would miss your Viper driving a GTO.....of course you could buy a new GTO MSRP, have all that work done, and still have less into it than an 01 Viper, so it's not exactly a fair comparison.
  8. I'm kind of broke right now, but another member on here may be selling his soon for about that price, so I may be getting it from him.
  9. Go aftermarket H/U. It just won't sound as good running the factory unit.
  10. Do you mean this? Dr. Gas has been making those for a while, but I'm not sure if they offer something long enough for your needs. I've heard great things about their X-pipes.
  11. 100% WRONG. Insight's Motorola POS DVR only has one tuner. Most Tivo units only have one tuner too. WOW and TW both use the Scientific Atlanta 8000/8300 DVR's, which have 2 tuners. Yes, you can setup to record all week then watch whenever you want; I do that w/ Family Guy. But Insights DVR sucks a butt nugget. You are FAR better buying a Tivo or going to WOW/TW (I'd suggest WOW ) and getting a SA DVR. I have a friend who was forced to get Insight (only cable available....he hates it), and his DVR is a total joke. From a single tuner to having to go thru 2 menus just to get to the recording lists, to half the screen being filled w/ ads.....it SUCKS! There are too many better options out there. I love my DVR (8300 HD, 160GB hard drive). 2 Tuners. Composite, component, S-video, coax/optical sound, HDMI outputs. Tivo's are nice (they have a great GUI), but are slow to respond to channel changes when going thru cable setups (because they have to interface w/ the cable box), which can get annoying. Also, you've got to spend the $$ on the box vs. leasing it thru a cable company (plus pay for the service), and you have to connect a phone line for listing updates. Just ends up costing more.
  12. Depends on what your speeds are supposed to be. Most high speed connections are asynchronous (sp?), meaning your d/l speed will be faster than your upload. Go to http://chi.speakeasy.net/ and post your results. That should give us a better idea if it's a problem w/ your provider, your school's network, or no problem at all.
  13. 04, and very easily, assuming equal drivers. I daily drive a loaded 94 GT 5-speed. O/R H-pipe w/ Flowmaster exhaust, homemade CAI, underdrive pullies, B&M shifter, 97 Cobra rims, March crank pulley. Basically the same mods except 5-speed, stock gears, but has a CAI. This car isn't very fast, and a bone stock 99+ GT would walk all over it. I'd guestimate high 14's, low 15's.
  14. Please post some more of them. I know I've told you before, but I really enjoy those reviews. I may not like the kinds of beer you review, but the reviews are well done.
  15. Senior cable technician. I work all over town, and go into all sorts of neighborhoods (I've been to the worst of the worst areas in town to some insanely nice homes, and everything inbetween). I know what is Franklin county simply because that's all we service, and the work orders tell me what areas I'm in. Nothing really scientific, but I definately know the areas I would/wouldn't want to live.
  16. I didn't put it there. smile.gif I bought the house off of the original owners (built in 1968), so it was granny and grandpa living here previously. Kitchen doesn't bother me too much. Upstairs hallway paper really needs redone (good shape, just grandma-ish). Bedroom wallpaper, well, it ain't my room. Just like I told my part-time roomate Tim, you can decorate it however you want, as long as I'm not footing the bill. That's why his room is now a very dark red. Hey, whatever floats his boat.
  17. Most are closer toward Hoover Dam (which makes sense). Overall, Westerville gets nicer the further North and East that you go. Nothing nearly Tartan Fields nice (my g/f watched some spoiled rich kids there for good $$ last summer), but definately some fairly expensive homes. There are also some homes in very eastern Westerville that most people think is New Albany, but is zoned Franklin County Westerville. All of it is fairly new-build stuff.
  18. Ummm....errr....hell if I know. It's not real big. But you definately don't have to cram all of your stuff in there. The other bedroom is my "part-time" roomate's room. Basically, he goes to school full time and works full time, and lives up in Belfontaine during the week. He is only here on the weekends, and even then is gone a lot (when he is here, it's he's usually just passed out on the couch). His room has nothing but a bed and a few boxed up car parts in it for his SS project (which is why there isn't a garage space available). So the new roomate is more than welcome to have full-access to that closet in there too (the old roomate did that; he had a LOT of stuff). Stuff can also be stored in there, in the crawl space (full door access, lighted, clean gravel w/ a plastic covering, and dry), or LIMITED stuff in the garage. As for the garage, I'm not anal about it or anything. If the new roomate needs to use it for a couple of days on a project, that's cool. And 100% full access for any kind of work out in the driveway; we did the CRX motor swap in the driveway (which was honestly preferable during the nice summer weather, as the garage option was available). If you didn't notice from the pics, the house also has 2 skylights. The computer room also has room for extra furniture, and if the new roomate has a PC desk, PLEASE bring it. The photocopier is non-functioning, and something I can/want to get rid of, so there will be space there too. The utility room (not pictured), besides having a washer/dryer, also has a full-size chest freezer, in case you like to buy a lot of frozen stuff (though the regular freezer usually has plenty of space in it). Overall there is plenty of space for someone who has a lot of stuff. I didn't realize how much the previous roomate has; he has made countless trips filling car and truck loads of stuff, and still has a lot of stuff to get.
  19. Yuck. I was expecting something gross, but not THAT.
  20. Worthington, yes. Dublin, not really; Murfield is all in Franklin. Of the really nice areas, about the only that is in Del. county is Tartan Fields. There are a few outlying areas in Union/Franklin, but nothing real significant. Westerville's nicest areas are split between Franklin/Delaware, so that's a draw.
