  1. Yeah, it has been empty for a couple years. Still not for sale. Guy came by checking on it a few days ago, said something about the banks finally settled and will be putting it on the market soon. From what we gathered we are guessing it has about a million in leans against it. It's going to need a good 100k+ to get it right, and I am guessing will sell right around 400k-500k range as-is (it's a big house). Not yet - that's next on the agenda.
  2. That is where the wiring went to. I may move it to the outside though; just have to dig up the wire. I keep the water below the box. It is on a GFI and in a weather resistant housing, but I'm not super keen on it being there.
  3. Those things run forever. My dad's Safari had 320k or so before the original tranny finally let go...motor still factory original.
  4. Dunno...they are moartered in place. The rocks match the rock that surrounds the front of the house, so it doesn't really look out of place IMO. I do have a couple loose rocks on top sitting on top of the highest point right now, so that probably makes it look a bit more off than it really is. But it is still not quite level.
  5. These newer magnetic pumps are supposed to be pretty efficient. Regardless, you have to have a pump, otherwise the water gets stale/smelly, and pretty nasty overall. I still need to do about 2-3 more water changes before it will start looking clear in there. I might add a small water fall eventually, just to make it a bit nicer, as that's a pretty cheap/easy addition.
  6. And this is post-repair. 1900GPH pump. http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/5190/fountainrepaired1.jpg http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/4616/fountainrepaired2.jpg http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/7158/fountainrepaired3.jpg http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1418/fountainrepaired4.jpg http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/2306/fountainrepaired5.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/3006/fountainrepaired6.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3010/fountainrepaired7.jpg
  7. We purchased our home that was a forclosed property last year. Never got a chance to work on the fountain until now. It was a disaster. Sadly, they put about 3x too many stones in there, and the work to 100% redo it would have been more than it was worth, so I made do with what I had to work with. Also had to repair the electric, as they just cut the box out, so I wired in a new unit (it's on a switch outlet from inside the house, which is nice). This is what it looked like when we put the house in contract: http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/396/fountainaspurchased.jpg This is after 2 hours of working on it yesterday...still had a crap ton of work to go after that: http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/1227/fountainprerepair2.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/3553/fountainprerepair1.jpg http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/2441/fountainprerepair3.jpg
  8. Bill is a good guy...was over at his house last week. I am sure he can meet your needs - one look around his house, you know he is very familiar with a soldering iron.
  9. I'd imagine concrete people are all uber-busy right now.
  10. I never mentioned the transmission. The 04+ cars are far nicer than the earlier cars.
  11. Unless that investment account has big returns (something that you can never count on), that makes no sense. But do whatever you want.
  12. Not nearly as much. Autotrader only has 2 S8's for sale within 500 miles of here, one in the upper teens with nearly 100k on the clock, the other 22k with 45,000 on the clock. Overall, the value would be worth a little more than a B7 A4. A 07 Q7 3.6 Premium can be had for the lower 30k range. Cheapest 2008 S5 I could find nationwide on Autotrader was 42k, and within reasonable driving distance from here, about 45k. Much bigger price differences overall. Don't get me wrong, I would never trade an S8 for a Q7, but the S5 would likely be a budget buster. (and yes, prices can be different than Autotrader, but it's the quick/easy check). Now you could get a Porsche Cayenne for similar money age/miles...I'd take that over a Q7......
  13. Wait, No DUI, yet want it knocked down to reckess op? Might as well spill the beans, as you either have vehicular manslaughter, or were street racing.
  14. He is asking $4 shipping for something that can be put in an envelope for the price of a stamp.
  15. Oh, so the real truth is that getting rid of the WS6 had nothing to do with your "financial plan" but had everything to do with getting a German sedan. Why lie to us?
  16. The TL pre 2004 is lame. Avoid. The pre 2004 is cheap for a reason.
  17. There is a very significant price difference between a B7 A4 and an S5.
  18. By lake, I bet you mean Alum. And by Alum on a nice day on Memorial Day Weekend, I bet you mean 2 hour lines at the boat ramp, and back-breaking chop throughout the lake. Around here, lakes are for weekdays, rivers are for weekends.
  19. I may consider that offer later this year. Depends on if I have any more issues with the trailer...which I sure hope I don't!
  20. You don't understand anything but a dream of parts you hope to buy, that you hope will get you to that number. I can put a parts list together too on a whole bunch of shit. No one gives to shits about your "plans." Any tard can make big plans. Not impressed.
  21. 220v and 240v are both correct terms: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/electrical-wiring/part1/section-14.html
  22. First pic, you have both 220v and gas, so you can go with a gas or electric dryer. Second, pull those boards (don't try cutting them while attached), and if you still want to trim them down, use a circular saw. I personally wouldn't cut them - a power wash and re-stain is in order though.
  23. Though buying a brand new car is usually a waste of money anyway, isn't selling it a couple months later just throwing money down the drain? TL's are nice, but unless you have the newest body style, FWD only. A lot of them have wood grain interiors, though the pieces can be swapped with the carbon look. GS Lexus is similar in size to a TL but more sporty than a LS. What about a 5-series BMW? CTS? S6?
