  1. I always keep about a quarter of my limit in running balance on my cards because i've heard exactly the opposite(not from bankers, but family). Banks want you to keep some kind of balance and keep paying on them to show you're a loyal paying customer and show that you're always making payments on time.

I've always done this on my cards and I'm well above 700 in credit rating at the age of 23, without taking out any loans.

Not true. I have never used my only credit card since opening it in 2004. It's only for emergency. So that means no balance...ever. Only debt I have is my car. Why would you carry a balance and pay interest if you don't have to? Fuck throwing money down the drain.

My middle score when applying for my first mortgage a couple weeks ago was 762. They were actually suprised at how high it was with no mortgage. After a year or so into my mortgage I should be closer to 800.

  2. Very well put. I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Would you rather make $100,000 plus per year working 50-60 hours a week in a stressful environment or would you rather make $30-40,000 a year working 35-40 hours a week?

The problem is that you might be happy at work and it might be easy, but only making 30-40k would put a huge financial stress on you at home. Living paycheck to paycheck with no savings, etc... Especially if you have a family.

A stressful enviroment can still be very rewarding.

  3. We have no quotas.

If your concern is the safety of your community you simply need to call in and complain about the lack of community patrol in your area.

Patrol keeps crime down.. the # of officers on the road in general does not necessarily have everything to do with it. However more officers taking calls and being REACTIVE = LESS officers patrolling to be PROACTIVE. More proactive patrol = less chance of crime happening in that certain area.

Officers mirror locked or 10 deep at chipotle = less patrol = more crime.

It’s simply a matter of calling and complaining every time you see stuff you don’t like.

There are so many ways to answer the question based on what dept you are questioning. Each dept has different views, different policies and procedures, different supervising staffs, different ways of handling calls and running traffic, I could literally go on and on for days

Feel free to ask more in depth questions if you wish

What would happen if next month you didn't write a single ticket. Just responded to calls or gave out all warnings. I'm sure someone would at least ask what's going on.

It's a double edge sword. You have to have some kind of traffic enforcement, but on the other hand they are a great source of income. I mean speeding/traffic tickets could be a points violation only. No fine and at 12 points you get your license taken away like normal.

  4. Sorry to hear about your problems. I'm supposed to close on my house June 15th. I went with 5/3 and they have been awesome . I put in my application a week and a half ago and I will have final underwriter approval today. Which means I can close anytime afterward. I have until the 30th to close with the seller. The only way I could get fucked is if I don't close by the 15th I'll lose my 30 day lock on 4.25%.

5/3 works very quickly. I had all the docments they needed when I filled out my application ( I had been shopping around so I knew what I needed), appraisal within 24 hours, I had my inspection the next day, and now will have underwriters approval within a week and a half of app. Now I just have to write the big check :(

  5. Here are some new pics today. All the stress is starting to subside and i'm starting to get excited.

  7. New/Better pics on Thursday when I walk through again. It will be weird walking through again knowing that it's mine.

That is the MLS pic from last summer. The lawn is nice now.

It's also kind of cool the house number is 1320

  8. I finally found my first house. I close on June 19th. New build, 3 bedrooms with a huge bonus room which I'm going to turn into a home theater. It has all the upgrades and a huge 2 car garage. The lot is .5 acres and backs onto the forrest. I can't wait to move in and to start getting some new furniture.

I'll get some inside pictures when I go for the inspection next week.
