I thought it was a fairly boring race. Only one pass for the lead when sebastion had problems. It looked very hard to pass for the front running teams. Maybe they should just remove the rear wing and all rear aero grip. That would be interesting to see

 

Pit stops are a joke. Steve was raving how quick they were, but there's no skill involved anymore. Very little oportunity to make mistakes. Atleast when we had refueling the attachment would get stuck every so often.

It was me. I just love what you've done with the place.

Having a little theater is like modding a car. Soon you'll want a better projector, then comes a better sound system. Before you know it you're buying theater seating and a popcorn machine.

Are they out? They were advertising them during the race yesterday.

Makes me want to suit up and hit the ice again.

Like someone said, painting the screen wall and ceiling flat black will change everything. Picture quality will improve quite a bit. Take a look at my thread in the pics and vids section.

106" screen. Looks kinda small in the pics, but it looks huge in person. Perfect for the viewing distances.

What's up with the track. A few pro stock guys were saying it's downright dangerous.

Epson home cinema 8100. Screen is a Da-lite matte white.

A second light on its own switch behind the projector is going in next week. There won't be as much direct light on the screen when it's on.

 

This projector is a light cannon so it's not too bad with all the lights on. For the best black levels you need to have the room dark though.

It's a Mr. Slim HVAC. unit. The bonus room (only room upstairs) is above the garage so the room needs it's own hvac system. If it were tied into the primary hvac system it would be hot as hell (or cold) upstairs since the thermostat is downstairs. It's actually a pretty cool unit, silent and does a good job regulating the room temp.

A few of you asked for some pics from when I started working on my bonus room and turning it into a little home theater. It's about half way there. All that's left over is some wire management, new theater seating, and acoustic wall treatment.

 

It's not perfect, but it's great for watching the races every sunday and for movies.

A reliable 9k in a LSX is not very difficult. Solid roller, Light valves, and some obsolete high rate Nascar springs will get you there.

Either one just got done doing a burnout or is burning some oil @ 1:04.

Top fuel only turns about 3 8500 rpm on a 1/4 mile 330 mph pass.

my guess would be that the biggest problem on an american v8 would be the valve train. what's the fastest a pushrod motor has turned?

 

I can't tell you the rpm but I can tell it would most likely be a pro stock engine.

It must be easy if the nascar rednecks can do it!

I'm putting the finishing touches on my home theater. 25'X15' If you already have another TV for watching regular television shows I'd suggest a projector. It has completely changed watching movies at home.

 

It's still a fairly low budget theater, but here's what I've got so far..

Only thing left to buy are the 3 seater Berkline seat and two additional leather couches.

 

 

If I could do it again I would built a proper stage and screen wall, but I think it turned out well for the small budget I had. The way the room is built I can't do columns.

 

I'll try to get some pics later.

 

Oh and the Epson is rated at 4k hours on the brightest setting. At 1800 lumens it's a light canon and you can still watch it with a decent amount of ambient light.
