  1. Yeah, alot of overacting in my opinion. I liked that they used a mildly modded older Jeep rather than a brand new one. I hope it improves. My biggest gripe with the premise: Jeep Wrangler is not a car. New show name: One Jeep Too Deep.
  2. My wife's 99 Saturn had one sensor with 2 leads (ECU and gauge). Hers went bad causing the fan to stop kicking on but displayed the temperature fine. If its a single sensor car, you just need a new sensor. Turn on your AC. If the fan runs, the sender is bad. Also, if her fuel mileage has been shitty is a good indicator.
  3. Also, I'm no carb expert but it looks like a typical 4160 float bowl arrangement to me. Edit: looks like it is a 4160. While that is a marine carb, I think most of the components are the exact same as any other 4160 series carb. http://www.holley.com/data/Products/Technical/199R10015-1.pdf
  4. It's in the first pic. The list number is typically what you'd go by. This one is a 50405.
  5. Yeah, seems like it would be a good commuter if they get a nice balance of mileage and power. It will be a while before I'm in the market. I'm keeping my money liquid until I figure out my house situation, but will probably need to pick something up within the next year. Just kinda looking around now.
  6. This. There's no denying that people make insane HP numbers on cam-only LSx engines using cams so big that most people usually wouldn't even consider them for use with stock heads (mainly due the the kick-ass LSx cylinder head design), but I still don't think it's advisable to just right into the biggest one you can find. Also, even if you're not concerned about drivability - huge cams typically require fairly regular valve spring change intervals.
  7. Looks like a doorway into the kitchen. Isn't that required by code in some places? :gabe:
  8. It's official. The Burgundy Bauce is now prowling the mean streets of Newark.
  9. Every religion or political thread is automatically a trolling thread. Rules of the Internet 101.
  10. Ah, my favorite term in the whole English language - "Gun Violence". :dumb:
  11. That's the one that intrigued me the most. Seems like a tune would put it near the power of the "faster" model and still likely get near 40 MPG. It seems to be a big enough car to still be useful to me as a commuter too. I know I'm getting old when I'm selling a 425 RWHP car and considering a ~100 RWHP car as a possible "upgrade". :fa:
  12. http://thedecaturminute.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/borat_great_success2.jpg?w=500&h=375 You may know Rusty, an announcer at MidOhio. He finally made the switch about 5-6 years ago (Toyota Corrolla LOL) and has been kicking himself ever since for waiting so long.
  13. Hmm. I guess I naturally assume all road racer types are EFI guys, though there are always exceptions. Also, I have never actually seen the car in person. Just going off my assumptions.
  14. Matt's RX7? Didn't realize he had such a weird exhaust setup, if so.
  15. From reading his thread, I got the idea it was going to see some street duty as well. I totally agree that erring on the big side doesn't usually hurt on a race-only car.
  16. So have any of you driven the new "Dart" *cough* Fiat/Alfa? They aren't really in my realm of possibilities currently either but the seem mildly interesting, including the little turbo engine option and some odd transmission choices (for our market, anyway).
  17. As long as you don't have to talk to trailer-trash Steph. She might be okay really, but something about her TV persona irks me. Also, I think all gun people see that many of their "innovations" are kinda hokey.
  18. Looks like you're possibly headed many directions at once. As primary sizes go I would think a set of 1-3/4" would probably support what you're looking to do easily, assuming you're sticking with forced induction and not a huge displacement. For N/A on a high revving small displacement engine, like the DZ, or a larger displacement engine (377+) I would look into 1-7/8". I hate the idea of using factory manifolds. Some of the best factory manifolds are still utter shit, but much like the "double-hump" heads, some have a reputation for being way better than they are. It should be pretty easy to make a set of 1-3/4" headers even on a car that small. It's likely more important that they are designed and built correctly than the size of the tube, so choose your builder wisely. Incidentally, depending on many factors of course, you can probably run those times on a good bit less HP. More is always better though!
  19. www.gunsamerica.com is very similar to gunbroker. Like gunbroker, there aren't alot of major deals to be had, but sometimes I see good prices there.
  20. I have a target stand you could borrow. I used to have 2 but I killed one zeroing the peep sight on the SKS. :fuuuu: Also, in case you're not aware, you don't pay at the range. Like most (all?) state park ranges you need to get a permit elsewhere. I get mine at the Norton Sporting Goods store just West of the range. It's on the same road, but from 23 you go left at 229 instead of right. They sell target stands too, but you'll pay a premium.
  21. It's like 5 miles from me. I have been several times but I prefer an indoor range, like the one at Blackwing (nearby) for pistol shooting. It's a hell of alot cheaper at the park though ($5/day). It's not bad, but it gets really busy on the weekends and you can end up sitting around alot waiting for a good time to call a cease-fire to swap targets. My wife enjoys shooting and has guns of her own (and a CCW permit), but she didn't enjoy shooting there. It may not make the best first impression if you're trying to get her hooked. If you go, your best bet is to set up a bunch of small targets at once to minimize your need to take trips downrange. You'll also need an approved target stand. They have some you can borrow, but only if they aren't already being borrowed.
  22. I have heard this from many people but have yet to try it, even though I loves me some cake. CTD had a pretty good deal on boxes of MRE pound cake (just the cakes) recently. Incidentally, CTD = Cheaper than Dirt, not that Covert Tuning Dynamics gayness. Edit: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/MRE-264 I think they were cheaper before, but they're still only about .60 per cake.
  23. I believe a cop will typically have a pretty good idea if he's going to give you a ticket or not before he even comes to your window. Usually just fessing up for what you've done seems to keep you from talking your way INTO a ticket, but sometimes you're just going to get a ticket. I don't feel like it has anything to do with a CCW permit itself, just that you're not a lying fuckbag that deserves the ticket he was going to let you get out of. They also will probably already be well aware you have a CCW permit, at least every time I have been pulled over since I have gotten mine. Each time I was not carrying and they asked me if I was.
  24. I found the "Jet Engine Specialist - No High School Required" part to be the most questionable entry on the whole page.
