You just have to try and find the balance of price, reliability, maintenance costs (or ease of doing it yourself) and performance that works best for your unique set of needs.

I was super anal about making sure the grounds were solid, but other than that I just plugged it in and tucked it out of the way. Did you scrape away some paint around the short ground leads or just run a screw in? I'd have to look at mine again to see where I grounded them, but I remember filing all the paint away from around the ring terminal. I guess it's possible that it's incorrectly wired inside the loom. I would probably exchange it rather than cut it up if you rule out everything else. It's pretty strange that it works with the lower load of the OEM lights.

Who's harness did you buy? Forum member or from an aftermarket retailer like Quadratec or BigOffroad? It really should be plug-n-play with these. I have the cheap one from eAutoworks ($20 - cheaper but the same Chinese one BO sells) and it worked just fine w/ my 60/100 bulbs. The wiring is a tad small for super high wattage bulbs, but might be worth a try if you end up replacing the harness. +1 Years ago I put a pedestrian through the windshield of my Corsica. I had Safelite come out because they were cheap. The piece of glass they used had a noticeable distortion line. I don't remember getting headaches, but I remember that it would make reading at night kind of hard. I'd have to move my head around to focus on signs sometimes.

I use it about every other oil change (into the intake via vacuum line), but have never added it to the oil. The rear main seal leak on my Cherokee is bad enough without help. I usually get a little smoother operation for a while after the treatment. I'd say $9 for many uses worth of it isn't bad. I have experienced no negative affects.

I have gotten several entirely undeserved negatives. One of my biggest peeves with eBay. 99% of the time when I get a negative feedback it's because the user doesn't bother to try and communicate that there is a problem. Usually if I have any further correspondence with them I quickly l find out they just don't know how to communicate at all, especially via the internetz. We reward too many ignorant ass people in this country by allowing them to continue sucking air.

You can degrade ride quality by cutting either spring type too much. Mainly depending on the rate of the spring and the weight of the vehicle, especially if you cut too much off.

Though there is always someone in the mix that has had acceptable results with cutting, I have never been a fan. Even if you do it carefully and don;t overheat the spring causing it to lose its strength you still end up using an important component outside the parameters it was designed to function in. Secondarily, if you go too far you can end up needing different length shocks to prevent bottoming them out and causing damage. With the huge amount of coverage in reasonably priced aftermarket springs these days, I'd say pony up a little bit of cash to do it right.

Somewhat related to this topic, I just read this story on Yahoo.
