  2. Home depot. I made them. Plywood and screen on the edges to round them off. The sprayed them with a glossy black to basically match what I already had (tv, components, speakers). I looked everywhere for the right size and style I wanted and didn't find exactly what I wanted. My woodworking skills could use some practice, but that's why I made these! They are far from perfect, but they look OK. I got the wall mounts from The Container Store. Joe, either I'm not understanding you right, or you're not seeing the cables right? The only cables that you see in that picture are speaker, power for the sub and sub signal (RCA). All of the power (except for sub) and a/v cables are behind the TV and a/v components. The cables that go from TV to the a/v stuff are run sideways behind the TV directly to the a/v components. Are you saying to bundle the cables that you can currently see to make them look 'neater'?
  3. Knew someone would be a hater about that. I live in an apartment so I'm not going to go through the trouble of running cables through the walls and installing wall plates everywhere. It's also easy to 'hide' all of those cables you see when you have a big tv stand like most people do. I might still run the front channels (L & R) and sub signal cable 'behind' the wall. The steps to the basement are behind this wall so I can just run the cable through the wall, down the hallway and back through the wall to 'hide' them. That's easy enough to do. That won't do anything about that cable you see going 'up' the middle of the TV. That's the power (120VAC) to the sub and there's only 1 outlet on that wall behind the TV. It would also be a ton more work to run the rear speaker cables, way more than I'm willing to do in a place I'm going to be for another ~2 years. It would also just be more shit I'd have to fix when we move out of here. The parts to do all of that is relatively cheap, my time is not. If you want to come do it, I will buy all of the parts. I only pay in old Mexican pesos. You can still buy donkey rides in Tijuana with those. At least that's what Mitch claims.
  4. I don't have any before before pictures, but everything used to be on a regular old TV stand. This was the plan when I hung up the TV 6+ months ago, but I finally got around to doing it. 6. inb4 u get pulled over racing wearing that and try to deny it.
  7. Yeah, I was being a little facetious with the 10lbs. Still less than 19lbs if it's a carbon road bike. At any rate, yes very very light and not made to take a beating.
  8. IDK, my parents got ours for us for Christmas. http://www.google.com/products?q=pineapple+corer&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=btIsTICEC8LflgfTttjvCQ&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CEYQrQQwAA
  9. Howard could do that on a unicycle while wearing a unitard... I found a picture. http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=15965&stc=1&d=1162268499 WTF kind of parade are you in there Howard?
  10. He has to, he's riding a carbon road bike. That thing probably weighs 10lbs total. My wheels and tires probably weigh as much as that bike total.
  11. This. There's no reason to get 'peanut butter' with garbage in it, NONE. Ground up peanuts taste better and don't have don't have shit like ryboflavin hydraxa multipolycarbonate #25 in it.
  12. If you eat it very often, get some fresh stuff and get one of these! http://c0373252.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/product-images/stainless-steel-pineapple-corer/stainless-steel-pineapple-corer_main.jpg You just push it in, spin it and pull it out... lol. Perfect cored pineapple every time and it seems like you get more of the good stuff than if you try to cut it with a knife.
  13. Yeah, I can give 1 anecdotal story too of the exact opposite of what you guys have seen. Guy clearly beating his girlfriend and the cops did almost nothing. We had to call them twice. The first time the girls in the house had locked the door and he climbed the tree in the front yard, got on the roof and tried to get inside on the second story. Then he left on his bike. The second time he wrecked his bike in the front yard drunk as fuck, the chain broke so he took it off, wrapped it around his hand and went in the house. At this point me and a few friends went over there to diffuse and called the cops again. The girlfriend and the drunk guys sister who was there (and supposedly friends with the girlfriend) wouldn't say anything to the cops. After they left she yelled at us across the street to stop calling the cops. Fine, let him kill her and maybe you next time. He was clearly a violent person, we called them twice and were willing to give statements (which they weren't very interested in) and they didn't even take the guy to the drunk tank to sober him up. Just let him walk away. I'm not trying to discount anyone's story. I'm simply saying that both sides happen and there should be mechanisms in the system to account for all scenarios so some asshole doesn't roam free or an innocent has to go to jail. But most of the time when a d/v gets called in it's because some piece of shit scum bag beat his s/o.
  14. And you could eat less fast food and eat more real food. There's always that.
  15. Wow.... Oh yeah, watch it to the end there is a bonus after it seems like it's ended.
  16. You'll be sore at first!! Don't run if you are too sore, but running a little sore is actually good. Like I said earlier, just do what you can reasonable do and the stamina will come pretty quickly. Your muscles and lungs aren't used to this at all yet. Like h22yo said, that is NOT safe! I've always heard 1lb/week is a good general idea. That's going to be different for everyone, but it's probably a good baseline. Just eat good and reasonable (i.e. also not too little) and exercise and you will see results.
  17. Keep at it, you will get big gains at first if you do and 'running' 2 miles will happen sooner than you think!
  18. Cool. I knew you had moved out of your place and got a new place with the wifey. Obviously didn't know where you two had moved into. The Hills Market should be pretty close to you and has lots of cool local stuff. Good food and produce selection in general. Very nice wine selection. They sell pancakes on Saturday mornings outside on the weekends. You can go there and get breakfast and go shopping. They do some wine tastings too. The outside eating area, Friday night wine bar and Weekend morning pancake breakfast. http://www.thehillsmarket.com/veranda/ Wine Tastings http://www.thehillsmarket.com/events/category/tastings
  19. Good idea, althought 450lbs doesn't get you too much. You'd only have room for that extra fuel if you were onboard alone with no luggage... what's the point in that? 450lbs is good for 2 average people and a reasonable amount of luggage i.e. not 2 bags over 50lbs like I've seen some people in airports with. Anyone can travel with 1 suit case, less than 50lbs if you are conscious about what you take. That's assuming you are going somewhere you can do laundry and buy toiletries/water/food when needed. That leaves 350lbs for 2 people, or 175lbs/person. That's not too much in the grand scheme of things. Really why would you want to travel long distances with this thing? If that's the point, get a real plane. It would be cool to be able to drive the an airport around here (or your land if you have enough money to buy this thing). Take off and go to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Pittsburgh, or Indianapolis for the weekend. Drive it off of the tarmac there and have a car to drive around. Well, maybe not Detroit, but any of those other cities.
  20. My pointless workout for today. Easy/slow, trying to keep a relatively low average heart rate, working on distance/time endurance. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/4384/heartrate100629.jpg
  21. First good step is not shopping at WalMart. I suggest local markets and/or farmers markets. First you are usually going to be supporting local, smaller farmers. This does two things. Stops supporting mega producers who are ruining our food supply in a lot of ways to produce the food as cheaply and as profitable as possible, including exploiting migrant (i.e. illegal) workers. It also supports our local, Ohio economy. Which is a good thing in general but especially important in theses tough economic times. A lot of times local markets or farmers markets are much more open about where they get their food from and how, and make conscious decisions about those points. I bet a lot of these places would be more than happy to talk to you as much detail as they know about where and how their produce is produced. That's worlds more than you will get from any chain store. http://communitymarket.org/?page_id=2 http://www.thehillsmarket.com/ http://www.weilandsgourmetmarket.com/departments/produce.html Every community seems to have a farmers market, at least during the summer. I'm sure you can find it on google for wherever you live. The North Market is always a good start but can be a little overpriced for produce. I usually go there for the food that's already made and to pick up a few speciality items. IIRC you are a wine guy. There's a shop in the North Market called Grapes Of Mirth that's an amazing little beer and wine shop. Those other three markets also has a very good selection of beer and wine. Just a start even though I think you live out East. I don't know about any markets out there as I live on the North West side of town so I know about the markets up here. I would hope there is something like these places out there you can shop at. If you have Nexflix instant go watch Food Inc.
  22. Did you expect anything less from Clear Channel? Not that I thought 106.7 was that great to begin with, but it is ran by Clear Channel so It's only bound to get worse.
