He must be a hipster and is being ironic. That way when he rips your doors off with that ugly thing it will be even more funny than if it were a good looking car. Though that would work better if your car was very good looking. :gabe: Sounds like he's getting the go-fast down good. Maybe we can turn around what he thinks about cars in the looks department. Car doesn't look bad in reality, but the Spawn airbrush is a little much. Nice enough intro and clearly into cars so +rep.

Anyone have a scanner that will read abs codes?
Trouble Maker replied to smokin5s's topic in Tech and Tips
I'm glad you're going to get the codes scanned before throwing WSSs (Wheel Speed Sensor) at it because it can just as easily be something in the modulator. Less likely the modulator can also receive an inhibit flag via CAN or have some other plausibility issue. Depending on the construction of the WSS, if the reluctor ring is removable they can sometimes get out of alignment and it can cause a weak or non-existent signal. An easy thing to check can be the wiring from the WSS into the body. It probably is the #1 place for issues, generally speaking, since it's in the wheel well and easy to physically damage. I knicked one on my old S4, or maybe it just got knicked, I can remember exactly since it's been so long. It wasn't even cut all of the way through, just slightly damaged, and it caused a weak/strange signal. -
Can anyone tell me the name of this movie...?

I think Ridley Scott directed it, but I can't remember the name of the movie. -

If they actually know what they are doing, what they are doing there is not a big deal. They look like they are probably pretty good climbers. If that makes you sissies queasy, DO NOT watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrX0ohmu1zw

It's not up selling when the part doesn't need changed. It's called scamming and taking advantage of people.

Maybe I missed the end of the thread, but what ever happened with that suspension issue?

My dilemma about current car( opinion needed)
Trouble Maker replied to kyc12340's topic in Passing Lane
The R-Spec is brand new for 2012 and $46k new, so it sounds like it's out of your target price range. A few year old regular V8 (4.6L) Genesis Sedan might be something to look at though, it still has 385hp (versus the R-spec at 5.0L and 429hp). -

About what you would expect, not super fast straight line but I think quick enough for a daily. The driving dynamics in general are very good and they handle really well. Granted they are a bigish sedan, they aren't going to handle as well as your Vette. I think the TL SH-AWD would surprise most with how quick it is. The RL's are really nice inside and drive very well. I've never been able to drive one in anger, but I would imagine it's not too much slower than the TL SH-AWD in general. Yup, I know nothing about them but searching around on Edmunds I thought they looked interesting at the price point with you saying you liked British cars. -

First, you should get serious about treatment for your knees. The guy who did my ACL did an excellent job and also does whole knee replacements. Not saying that's what you need as I have no idea of your condition, but I'm just saying he does everything with knees. My dad needs a knee replacement due to having 0 meniscus left in 1 knee at this point and I'm suggesting him to my ortho. I'm also seeing an excellent PT that deals a lot with knees, ACL's, etc, and sports injuries. Again, he does everything but is very good in this area. In case you are interested in any referrals. Looking new or used or both depending on the car? How about a few year old Acura RL, or even the TL? I generally like smaller cars more too, the RL, I think, is smaller than the TL, or at least it definitely feels and drives smaller than the TL. Note: Edmunds says the are about the same size (09 versus 09), but like I said, driving them the RL feels smaller IMHO. I don't know much about Jag's offerings, but anything there interesting? Again, I don't know anything about them, but for the price an 08 S-Type R looks interesting on the British front. http://www.edmunds.com/jaguar/s-type/2008/?sub=r Just throwing out a few more ideas that haven't been stated yet. -

Were you gifted the J1 or V1? So, this is probably the only advice you will get from someone who's bought a mirror less camera, since everyone here seems to hate them. Take it for what it is. I was not interested in lugging around a full sized DLSR. I asked and read around and went with the Olympus PEN E-PM1. The Sony is going to be able to take, in theory, the best pics due to the largest sensor size. But the kit lens that comes with it is huge compared to the camera size. The Nikkon's felt more like toys and I think have less capabilities. Having said that, even the Nikkon's are still going to be worlds better than P&S's. I also liked that the Olympus shares the micro 4/3 format with the Panasonic, so all lenses are compatible. I think the lens selection in the long run for these are going to be better than the Nikkon's or Sony due to that. Sgima (and Noktor/Norkton? $$$$$) have already come out with lenses for m4/3. Despite that, if you really think you will get into this and want to buy a bunch of lenses, go with a regular DSLR. I would have already bought a nice prime lens if I could get one for the price they cost with regular DLRS's. I'm thinking the selection, competition and price will help eventually with m4/3. If you are just getting into this, like me, and want to learn more, I'm sure you will be very happy with the Nikkon. It's should be able to take really good pics. For me, I don't think I will outgrow one of these cameras capabilities any time soon. Unless you really know you want a full sized DLSR, since it's a gift I would just keep it. Some reading in case you really wanted to dig around. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikonv1j1/ http://www.dpreview.com/articles/8986630048/mirrorless-roundup-2011
