Have to travel to WV, Carri's mom is having a lumpectomoy towards the end of next week. I think we are coming back Saturday, but we don't know exactly when. And even if I get back on time, it will depend on her mental state whether I want to come out and play or stay in with her. I'm 50/50 again, but we see how that turned out last week! :fa:

My partner has her own insurance since it's as good of coverage and less expensive than she can get through her work. That's even with her work covering half of the premiums. :dumb: She pays about $100/month for an HSA type with about $5k/year deductible, but I think all preventive is covered. But she's been having shoulder issues for a while. She saw a PT for a while last year, which we had to pay for out of pocket, seeing a Chiro now, which we are paying for out of pocket. The fucked up thing is that doesn't go towards her yearly deductible because if she pays their out of pocket rates it's less than their insurance rates. So of course we chose to pay their out of pocket rates. Either way we pay it ourselves. If she had an ER visit, we would pay for it out of pocket until we hit that $5k. It's OK for the piece of mind that if something like what just happened to me (ACL), we wouldn't be paying tens of thousands of dollars for it. More traditional insurance plans, with less out of pocket max and covers 90/10 or 80/20 after a smaller deductible, seem prohibitively expensive for an individual. It also might be worth it for him to look into group plans, since because of his (wifes?) company and there being '2' employees, they may be able to get group rates through some insurers. It's still not going to be cheap. BUT HEY, our health care system works, we don't need any reform.

I'm 50/50, as we've got a pretty full day already but I'd really like to come so I may squeeze it in.

Maybe, I've got a friend that lives walking distance up the street too.

They probably weren't mentioned for the same reason the Beats would never have been mentioned if someone just asked about headphones in general, NOT worth the price. I think the fact that Putty got a DOA set of $100 phones says a lot.

Andy, what broke on your last pair of in-ears? The co-worker who steered me towards the HiFi Man's (he has a set) also has a set of Shure SE215's, which is what he mostly uses. They, and I think the other (newer) Shure in-ears have detachable cords, I'm assuming so that if the cord breaks you can replace it. Though from the review that also seems like a drawback, and the cords are more likely to break due to the design. At least if it does, the cord is easily replaceable for about $30. Which is expensive for what it is if you ask me, but a lot less than replacing the phones. There is a review of them in the thread I posted earlier. http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-236-iems-compared-vsonic-gr06-gr01-added-04-19-12

Don't buy junk based on marketing?

You want to use 1.6L engine rods to make your 1.5L engine a 1.6L engine? Is this real life?

Be jones, call someone out on not being class while not being classy.

LOL, you must have never heard a good stereo or headphones before. DON'T, it's just another expensive hobby.

Get some in ears then? I just purchased some in-ear-monitors and decided to go with the HiFi Man (Head Direct) RE-0's. I was originally looking to spend around $50, but from reading online and talking to a coworker I decided to spend a little more and buy these. I did a ton of reading on http://www.head-fi.org Specifically in this thread, I searched around the price I was looking for looking for things ranked high i.e. search for Sound (9/10) or Value (10/10) http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-236-iems-compared-vsonic-gr06-gr01-added-04-19-12 Then I will read up on how they sound and see if I think I will like them or not, I know I personally like neutral sounding speakers so this is what I looked for. You might like something a little bass heavy (looking at the beats), so what I go probably won't suit you. Here is one for 'portable headphones' I think typically these will still collapse down for easy transport and not be huge (like most over hear headphones). But it seems like there are still some big over the ear types in there, the bigest Beats are in there. http://www.head-fi.org/t/433318/shootout-101-portable-headphones-reviewed-skullcandy-mix-master-added-04-06-12 If you really want to go with the beats they make more than just the huge over the ear headphones. They make smaller ones like those seen in the portable headphone thread (solos) and in-ear's. I can't imagine them being worth more than the name on the side of them. The three Beats headphones reviewed in the 2 above threads score 5.x-6.x/10 on the value & sound areas. So it seems like there are much better values out there.

Ok, because I thought you meant one could only be considered a man if he would want to take care of the kid, or any kid in general.

Explain please.

Well, I'm back home... or at least at my parents for a few days. The surgery, from what I've been told, went very well. Just the ACL and that repair went well, NO meniscus tears at all. The surgery was at 3, lasted about an hour, first thing I remember was around 5 in the recovery room. I went to a regular room shortly after that. I had a hard time keeping anything down, pills or food, so I stayed over night and they gave me liquid dilauted. Finally felt ok and could keep down pills this morning, I guess they weren't going to let me go home until I could do this. Finally got out of the hospital around 11AM. Pretty sore, not moving around too much, but still not too bad considering. I can already bear some weight on it, but obviously still using crutches and have my brace on whenever I'm walking around. Despite that I'm walking around as little as possible. I can do a little bit of the exercises the PT gave me, already working on getting the quad firing and it's doing ok. I can't really do any of the leg lift exercises yet, but that's to be expected. I need to change out my dressings in a few hours for the first time. That will be interesting to see!

I've had a friend who has had a few ear surgeries over the last few years. I can't remember what he called it, but he said they will inject something extra into the IV on my way to the surgery that immediately makes it feel like you've had a 6 pack of (good) beer. :masturboy:

:fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu: Purposefully stayed up, going to eat my last meal now. WHY THE FUCK DID THEY SCHEDULE ME FOR 2:30PM AND NOT 6AM :fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu::fuuuu:

http://www.jobshadow.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/flightattendantphoto.jpg There's an emergency exit aboard this bus in the ceiling. In case it flips over, slide down the pole like a fireman out of the hatch. In the unlikely event of a crash over water, personal flotation devices can be found on the chest of the nearest stripper.

I'm hopping to post some funny shit around the internet, then I can go back and read it later so I can understand just how fun it was. I had to look that up, 'produce fast, powerful movements', 'Plyometric exercises may also be referred to as explosive exercises' You're not doing some cross-fit shit are you?

Well, my surgery is tomorrow. Pre surgery PT has gone great. To the point that I was able to do 3.5 hikes in Hawaii with a ton of other walking around town. Longest hike was 5 mi with ~700ft of elevation. A few times I was hopping around on big rocks, or doing some scrambling. I'm really happy with where things are going into the surgery. I would guess we walked/hiked 20+ miles the 12 days we were there. It's amazing, even at this point I can still physically see the difference in the size of my quads. I'm guessing that won't come all of the way back until I can get back to some serious exercise (biking and running). I do have a goal now though. I'm going to join somewhere with a pool and get into as soon as I can. Then when I can get back on the bike I will be back on the bike, then running when it comes. All with the goal of a sprint-tri in late summer, or fall, whenever I can reasonable get to that point. I've never really had the swimming endurance to do one. This will be the perfect time to get to that point since it will be the first thing I can do and the lowest impact on my knee. Here goes nothing!
