Now that's funny. Lol, took the words right out of my fingers. I would read his post, think something, then you would post it. I was thinking 'so he's studied and done/read (credible) research in this area.. I'm guessing no'. No good doctor (DO, MD, Psy. D, etc.) would ever give medical advice to patients, or even off the cuff advice like that to anyone based on their own anecdotal evidence, a few non-medical books they've read and their own belief system. They again, he is a 'doctor' that didn't vaccinate his kids so they wouldn't end up autistic. :dumb: I have a general understanding that medicine is not an exact science and many aliments there is more than one way to treat.... but come-on, goats milk! WTF was that guy smoking? Here's to hoping I don't run into him in Hawaii. :fa:

I haven't been up there since I hurt my knee but this is my understanding; zero traffic, but 'plenty of snow'. They are closed during the week this week since they traffic has been so low. You can always check their website for which runs are open, if they are open, and check the web cams for coverage. I'm sure there are bare spots at this point. As always, check FB and/or their website before you go, especially during inclement weather, the day of, to make sure they are open. There are always a lot of people that come out for this event, lots of stuff going on. I'm sure there will be a decent amount of people on Saturday. M-F Closed SAT, MAR 10 . Ski/board 9AM - 9:30PM $25, $20PM $40 w/rentals . Tubbing 10AM - 9:30PM $25 UNLIMITED SUN, MAR 11 . Ski/board 9AM - 4PM $40 w/rentals . Tubbing 10AM - 4PM $25 UNLIMITED

I can't remember all of the details... but one of my good friends recently (within the last few years) had a (benign) tumor removed from one of his ears, I'm pretty sure as the result of scar tissue from lots of ear infections when he was younger. He had reconstructive surgery to repair the inner ear damage at the same time. It doesn't have an extremely high success rate. His first reconstruction didn't take and he had to have a second one. He now has a permanent and significant disability in that ear.
-
It's not just about the annoyance and/or pain of the ear infections. Constant fluid in the ears or ear infections can seriously hinder speech development (which cascades to delaying just about everything else) just to put the negatives of not getting the tubes into perspective.

In years past it's not a contest or entry issue. You just go up to the top and wait in line, then go as many times as you want. It couldn't be any easier or any more fun to do. It's fun when you don't make it across, and it's fun when you do. The contest ($$$), and entry is for the cardboard sled races. Which is after the pond skimming.

As many of you know, I'm out of commission for the end of this season for skiing, but I will still be up there to partake in the festivities. I'll prob go up around 1ish so I can catch some of the pond skimming and cardboard box sledding. There are also 2 bands playing pretty much all day. Let me know if you are heading up for the last weekend of riding in Ohio and we can grab a drink. I will be up in the loft grabbing drinks or outside watching people hurt themselves pond skimming and cardboard sled racing. :gabe: The pond skimming is a blast, I highly suggest trying it if you end there to ski/board. I would be doing it and entering the cardboard sled race if my knee wasn't hurt. :fa:

It's the only space his wife will let him have. :gabe:

Something for people to keep in mind... he's might be really conservative with these numbers. 2012 Genesis 2.0T base & R-Spec (lightest per curb weight, from Edmunds) Curb Weight: 3294lbs High end stated earlier in thread for BRZ: 2720lbs That's 574lbs for those with a calculator. The Genesis is going to be heavier all around in 2013 Compare the BRZ on the light end (speculated, rumors?) to the 2013 Genesis 2.0T (lightest spec): 742lbs heavier. Curb weight on the V6 Genesis is 34xxlbs. I remember back when I bought my B5 S4 in late 2003 it was considered 'a heavy pig' for a 4 door... at 36xxlbs. Now there is a sports coupe that weighs 200lbs less than that and no one will bat an eye. WTF has happened with vehicle weights/sizes? I guess they all have to get bigger to accommodate our collective fat asses. I applaud Subaru/Toyota for making a machine with 1 purpose; to connect the driver to the car & driving experience via a light weight car that handles well while most cars are going the opposite way.

Just thought of a funny story from this whole ordeal. I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere pretty quickly. I went to the first doc expecting him to say I sprained my knee. He tells me I tore my ACL and I go straight to sitting in an MRI for half an hour. I tell my partner I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head and I got pretty emotional a few times. Especially about the trip and not wanting to disappoint her if we can't do everything we had wanted. She said "Aww, did you cry", me "No, I went to sleep". Now that's the difference between men and women!

Definitely getting one or just on the list to try and get one?

Yup, we live in a townhouse, not looking forward to it. Parents have a pretty big ranch. One side of the house is the master bed & bath. Middle is living/dining/kitchen. Other side is 2 spare rooms and a bathroom. Bedroom & bathroom on the same floor=we might stay out there for (at least) a few days after the surgery. Or we do have a half bath on the first floor. Sleep on the couch, still be able to get to the bathroom to do my business. Then have Carri give me sponge baths. :megusta:

Yes, it looks to be a typo. From a quick Google search I found 690Nm, or just a little over 500ft-lbs. That's still a fuck ton of twist, especially from something putting out 117hp/L NA.
-
No thanks, I'd rather take an FF and drive it EREY DAY! That is a mean looking car though.

IIRC starting in 99 there was a minor suspension revision that allowed more travel, which gave more bump compliance during regular driving. There was also a power increase, maybe helps drive-ability a little i.e. ability to pass in a higher gear a little more easily?
-
That's a tall order. I think that year, and that clean is very, very likely to cost more than $6k. Maybe you will get luck and find one, just shop around and search until you find the best deal!

Oh, I have a rough idea. I'm just saying that even though my day-day strength is fine and I never stopped walking, I can already visually see it's smaller. I can only imagine what after will look/feel like. :fa: I was also pretty disappointed about the prospects of this hindering our Hawaii trip. However many months of rehab and off of the bike and running are really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. However, we will likely never go to Hawaii again so this is a once in a life time type of thing. I'm pretty happy that things are looking better for the trip than I had initially thought.

Went and saw Steensen on Monday and liked his approach better. He said he would prefer to do my own hamstring with something this 'simple'. Simple being I only tore my ACL, there aren't multiple issues. From talking to a ton of different people the upsides outweigh the downsides compared to using a cadaver. I got a reference (from a friend of a friend) for Cory at Banyan Tree Rehab over near Tuttle. Saw him yesterday morning and I am planning to go with him for my pre/post op rehab. He said my strength test all looked very good. Though I know I have some atrophy in my quad. He just wants to see my functional strength, walking and squatting, to get better. I'm still guarding, partially out of lost flexibility and strength and partially from learned habits from guarding. I can almost fully lock my leg out and have 125deg of motion in it (good leg is at 140). I have 5 different exercises to do every day on my own that focus on knee flexibility (mostly locking out), and quad strength. He expects me to be doing very well before my surgery since it will be a month and a half until then. As a bonus he says he expects that I will be doing very well by Hawaii and I should be able to do most of what I want to do while I'm there. :fuckyeah:

Why is it that a majority of the mods, etc. seem to have severe psychological issues?
-
Google search says (maybe, news from 2007/2008) sexual predator.

I'm sure you've had a ton of close calls with regular cars too. Or have you ever stopped to think the common factor here is you?

I'm kind of surprised you can even form half of a sentence. Good job on all of the progress you've made and good luck in the 1st grade next year.
