  1. Koningshoeven tripel is one of my favorite beers.
  2. I think it's supposed to be here sometime in 2012. EDIT: I could have sworn that I read that somewhere within the last year... but maybe not. http://beer.ohio.com/2011/06/new-belgium-not-in-ohio-yet/
  3. I wasn't saying to do this on the newer car we will get in the next few years. I was talking about dropping full coverage on her Elantra since it's older and not worth as much now. And since we have a car fund, if something happens we will just replace it anyways. Of course when we get the newer car we will put full coverage on it. Even if I had 10k, 20k sitting in the bank for a car that doesn't mean I'm going to drop full coverage on my car that's worth 10k or 20k.
  4. My inclination would be to always not sell/buy if I'm getting a hint of scam. I likely don't need to buy/sell this item right now and I can always find someone else to buy/sell this item.
  5. I get spending your money wisely, I get getting your moneys worth. I have a thread right now that's about whether to drop full coverage on one of our cars. That's only $80/6 months. I also get lawyer fees spiraling out of control. I've seen it happen to friends first hand. Then they feel like they are locked in because they've already spent $10k when the original quote was $5k and feel like that firm knows the case. I also think if this guy had some more money sitting in the bank by either sacrificing buying a house later or selling some toys this thread very well may not exist.
  6. So, for a little background. I bought a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire a few years ago for $2200 that's my DD and never felt the need for full coverage. It's always been a 'throw away car' to tide me over while we take car of other things financially. My partners had her 2003 Hyundai Elantra since new and has always had full coverage on it. But being a 2003 with 13xkmi on it, it's not worth a ton of money, maybe $2-3k at this point? We have a decent chunk of money saved up for a new car, and when something happens to one of our cars we will likely just buy a few year old car outright. Full coverage on the Elantra only adds about $80/6 months to our insurance. But our car insurance is only $350/6 months so it's a big chunk when you look at it that way. Just debating whether to drop full coverage. Thanks for all of the input. I should have expected, but didn't expect, to get such varied answers. Some people saying they never get it no matter what the car is worth. Some people saying they always get it no matter what the cars worth. :lolguy:
  7. Having a hard time feeling sorry for the OPs money issues when he has 8 vehicles listed in his sig.
  8. Rav 4? They got a V6 in 2006 and it's a peppy little car with that engine. Parents have one, and I've driven it quite a bit. Drove it from Florida back up to Columbus and back and forth to Nashville twice and it was very nice on those trip. Might be just a little north on price, but not too far.
  9. All of those (whot think they are but really aren't) one percenters are just angry the dirty hippies are coming after their money [/sarcasm] http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2011/10/19/what-percent-are-you/ http://www.npr.org/2011/12/10/143508437/just-what-do-the-rich-have-thats-taxable?
  10. That would only work if you had Johnny defending you. And in related links http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kPT7vME6qs&t=1m7s
  11. There is some re-direct loop on both of those that's not making Chrome happy, at least on my system. It work at one point in the past, but doesn't now. Had the same problem on my work PC with Chrome. I can get to the main page in IE, but the popup that takes you to the actual ticket purchasing page isn't working on my computer either. :fuuuu: Both of those are just info pages. Here is the actual page to buy tickets, found via google. http://www.beerfesttickets.com/ Tickets purchased, woot!
  12. No shit, I was at the game too, in 116 row T. The end of that game was painful to watch. GLWS!
  13. Rick Perry should be a televanglist, not a Governor, let alone POTUS. Sure, vote for him. Vote for him if you are like Tim and like freedom, as long as that means freedom for yourself and others that agree with you and not for those that don't. Vote for him if you would welcome Christian sharia law on this country. Why don't we just throw out the Constitution while we are at it and start over? Then the oppressed majority can final exert their morals on everyone else like like some have wanted to for so long. Vote for him if you WANT to go to war with Iran for the same 'reasons' we went to war with Iraq. Well, that last part is true for, I think at this point, all of the leading GOP canidates and is only a little less likely with Obama in office. :dumb: I can't even believe people are still taking this guy seriously.
  14. Was finally going to order tickets this morning and the website isn't working.
  15. I don't have a mirror in my murse right now so that's kind of hard to do.:fa:
  16. Really, I'm supposed to remember something like that from a bad movie that came out 15 years ago? :dumb:
  17. Is that you in your avatar? What are you shooting?
  18. Focus on the business. Do that right and with some luck you will be able to buy whatever the fuck you want in a couple of years.
  19. Your client made $18 a month on that deal. totally.worth.it. I never gave him advice, except for to go to http://www.BankRate.com to have a real understanding of loan amount versus payment. I simply said what I wouldn't do if I had to do it again. It's just an opinion and personal preference, and he can take it or leave it. Do you think I don't understand that basic concept? My car fund is sitting in investments right now, simply so it's not sitting in a bank losing value. When the time comes, I will use it to buy a car with that money, despite it 'not making financial sense'. I'd rather not be in debt if I don't have to. If I do have to for a car, it wont' be another 5 year loan. I've done that once and won't do it again. Again, personal preference of not wanting to be in debt if I don't have to be. Another underlying point I hoped people would get is to not get wrapped up in how much the payment is. Of course that's what it comes down to. But too many people will stretch payments out to get a more expensive car instead of getting the car they need and doing a shorter payment term or lower payments. On longer payment terms you are, obviously, more likely to be upside down on the car if you need to get out from under it. If you need a $10k car and the only way to afford it is to stretch the payments out, then by all means do so. But if you can afford a $25k car over 5 years, why not get a $15k car over 3 years?
  20. Ummm, this link was in the description. http://www.tactical-life.com/online/special-weapons/anzio-ironworks-monstrous-20mm/ First sentence. I guess good on you if you knew that off of the top of your head. I don't know a ton about guns, gun history, and I had no idea a riffle with that large a caliber had every been made before. The thing looks like something out of a cartoon.
  21. Worlds better than fighting with UPS. But I hate that we are subusidising all of this junk mail. It's the epitome of wastefulness. Probably 1 out of every 10 pieces of mail I receive might not be junk mail and probably 1 out of every 10 of those are things I actually need to get in the mail. I've probably use them more in the last few months than I would have every imagined, with Joe being over seas. Flat rate boxes to APOs FTW.
  22. Oh well, we can't have everything we want in life. And I understand, his hair is way better than mine.
  23. These are the same and are probably about right if you get a good rate and want a 5 year loan. Frankly, it's bad advice to just throw a number out like that and does a dis-service to his question, since he clearly needs a deeper understanding. He should go to http://www.bankrate.com and figure it out for himself, it will make much more sense to him that way. If I every do a loan for a car again, which I hope to avoid, I won't do a 5 year again.
