I would talk to a reputable financial advisor if you want to invest it for retirement. Depending on your income and tax bracket it may be best for you to do a traditional IRA instead of a Roth. Just depends on what you want to use it for (because you can withdraw money from a Roth for certain purchases, like a house, instead of leaving it for retirement), and if it would be favorable lower your taxable income. (Since a traditional IRA is pre-tax money)

Correct, to a point, I think. The Hennessey "model" isn't a factory model. He needs a donor car from the factory, which sounds like he builds his "HPE700" off of a SS model, not a V6. -

I think he means, why not buy the V6 model instead of paying more for the SS if you're swapping the brakes and powertrain anyway. I wouldn't buy Hennessey's car anyway. I would wait for GM to come out with the Z28. -

I bought a low mileage 2.4L Ecotec with the intention of building it for boost. I ended up selling my car before the plans came to fruition. The engine is complete. It was pulled from a 2006 Solstice w/ manual transmission. So it does have an oil cooler (GM stopped putting them on after '06), exhaust manifold, intake manifold w/ throttle body, fuel rail w/ 3 injectors (one is gone), whatever sensors are bolted to the engine (like knock sensor, or cam position sensors, etc) are still there. There are no accessories on the engine (alternator, starter, a/c), and the flywheel and clutch are missing. There are no wiring harnesses, ecu, etc. I may have the harness from the injectors, but all 4 coil packs are there. I bought it from Schram Auto Parts for $1250 a few years ago. MAKE OFFER Shipping would be difficult, so I would like pickup only. Drag is a big part of the equation too (which is why it takes so much power to go een faster). Not saying that it can't best the 253 MPH of the Veyron, but at that speed 10 more MPH is a BIG deal.

10-15 mph takes A LOT more HP when you're going that fast.

They're only making 500 of them and supposedly 60% of the structure/body is carbon fiber. The curb weight is just over 3200 lbs, it has a sequential gearbox, and it costs more like $375,000.

Has anyone ever compared P90X to Crossfit? I'e heard good things from friends on both of those programs. Everyone I know that's on P90X was really sore and say the workouts are intense. It's supposed to be an "Xtreme" workout though. Crossfit tells you to scale the workouts to your fitness level. Both look like circut training programs though.

You sure about that? I've seen results of some cars that have optional side curtain bags and those were tested twice. Once with the side curtains, and once without. The addition of the curtain earned the car an additional star or two in side impact tests. Also, I have a cousin that was in an accident without his seatbelt on and he was unharmed. After that he refused to wear his seat belt, claiming that he would be injuresd if he was wearing it. Would you take his testimony and apply it to your personal safety? Fuck no. The reality is most of the public is clueless as to what's 'good' and 'bad' and have a very narrow scope of knowledge to reference. They don't test 10's or 100's of cars per year. Maybe they were in an accident once in the last 8 years and buy a car every 5 years, which means they really have no clue what they're talking about. Will these tests influence what I buy for a daily driver for my wife/faimily/myself? Definitely. I'm not saying I would buy the highest scoring car out there, but if I have 3 cars on my mind and one scored poorly it would be knocked off my list. You never know when and where an accident is going to happen. You just hope that when/if it does that you and your family aren't left with lasting injuries.

Uh, it depends on the shape, cut, color, and clarity, but for a good stone that's a decent price.

+1 I used BlueNile to learn about diamonds, what grade stone and size I could get for xx price. The jeweler I went to could get anything off BlueNile so he would order stones for me that I picked out, then I'd get to look at them under the microscopes and all the different lights in order to make a final pick. Then he'd send back the one's I didn't want. I'm very happy with the stone I got for the price.

I never mentioned Paul's name, the thread was just someone complaining about their experience with him and I chimed in with my Byer's experience. If Paul is the service manager then it's definintely not him since I only dealt with one salesman and the sales manager. I won't mention the salesman's name and I don't hold him responsible for the deal falling through on my Mazda. His job is to get someone to fall in love with a car (which I was before I walked in) and try to work some numbers. It's the sales managers job to close the deal and make the numbers work. The sales manager straight up lied to me and refused to honor certain discounts. He refused to negotiate on the price and basically said the sticker was the take-it or leave-it price. When we came in to look at the Legacy GT it was totally the salesman's fault because he didn't give my mom any attention, didn't say anything about the car, and gie us a clean one to drive. My mom was so put off by him that she refused to drive the car because she "already made up her mind not to buy from that guy."

I wanted a blue car and there were ~4 in Wooster and I think 1 in Cinci. The sales manager told me that there were no blue cars in the state of Ohio and that if I wanted blue it would take him some time to search for it and they'd charge me $400 (and I'd pay sticker). Knowing that he just completely lied to me and denied giving me all the discounts I was eligible for, I promptly walked out, drove to Wooster and bought the exact car I wanted with all my discounts. When I went back a year later with my mom to look at a Legacy GT, the same sales person waited on us. He pulled up a car for us to test drive, tossed me the keys, and said 'see ya.' The car was covered in bird shit, he left the paper floor mats crumbled up under the pedals, and didn't even bother to take the plastic off the seats. He didn't speak one word to us about the car, features, options, price, etc.
