  1. So do G8 GXP's, Challenger 5.7's and 6.1's, yada, yada, yada
  2. New Viper's do have a TR-6060 and the bellhousing bolts right to the engine, while the Vette's have the trans in the rear and are connected by a "torque tube." That's why most people use T-56's from F-body's when they do an LS1 swap into a different car. For oem performance I would probably use an LS9+TR-6060 in a bunch of different cars. Either that, or I'd use the new EcoBoost V6 or take a GM 2.78L Turbo V6, swap in the 3.6L block, and use 2 turbo's off a turbo Ecotec.
  3. AutoBlog has the crash video posted... http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/13/bugatti-bird-gate-update-driver-identity-revealed-gov-schwarz/#continued
  4. Or maybe because Porsche's, most Ferrari's have the engine's in the rear they don't have to worry about it.
  5. Werd. Check out the kit from TiAL. http://www.tialsport.com/prod_turbosystem.html The Supra is hilarious as a daily. I'm surprised you didn't get more "WTF" looks from people.
  6. Pedestrian safety requirements are a newer thing for Europe. I believe there is supposed to be a certain amount of "crushable area" (I just made up that term) on top of the hood in order to cushion a body falling on top. Cars that have the hood very close to teh top of the engine would need a system like the GTR's in order to meet their requirement, while you may just notice hoods being designed differently on other cars.
  7. He swerved to miss a low flying pelican and put it into a salt water lagoon. HAHA, I would have just hit the damn bird.
  8. I have an 8800 and I love it. I've neer had a problem with reception either and I travel a lot. I love being able to have send/recieve gmail straight from the phone. Most of the internet sites I view are formatted for BB's, so that's not an issue. I also prefer the keyboard and trackball compared to some of the touch screens I have played with. You can download Google Maps for this phone and most others. This has by far been the most useful thing I have installed. I only wish it was faster (EDGE network). I need a new phone in December though, so eeryone keep the reviews coming.
  9. Not trying to knock s/c cars, but if I would go S/C I would use a KB or Eaton TVS. Centrifugal S/C don't make sense to me unless it's in a FWD setup where you might want power to build progressively for torque steer or traction reasons. If the turbo is properly sized you should be back at full boost after a shift at redline. Hopefully you're gearing's not so high that a shift puts you back under the boost threshold.
  10. At this point, who really cares? Compare the AIT and call it a day. Compare the torque curves. If I were shopping between the two and saw that chart it would be a no-brainer. Do I want progressive power building to a peak, or do I want a flat torque curve with a broad powerband?

If you're talking about that widebody, it looked like a twin turbo V6.
  12. The culture changes have to do with who makes the decisions, how fast they can make them/implement them, etc. It's a very good thing and it will lead to better products in faster time frames. So it will very much affect the products they are putting out.
  13. Getting better, but still not great. Michigan unemployment is the highest in the nation and the city of Detroit is the worst in the state (about 30% last I saw). There are finally some engineering jobs opening up and companies are beginning to hire. My wife was laid off for 9 months and just got back to work a few weeks ago. Work is getting busy for me. Now that every manufacturer is trying to rush new models and refreshes out as fast as possible I'm going to be swamped with work. The bad news is they are due to be released for 2011 and they're not going to have the first cars built until Feb-Apr of 2010. That means in addition to the 12 weeks I get to live in a hotel in northern MI, I also get to go to Arizona, New Zealand, and possibly Sweden and Alaska (depending on timing and vehicle availability). Being busy is better than being bored though! Finally starting to see some really cool things happening at all the automakers.
  14. If you wear an ID on your belt with your name and picture on it and you go take a nasty shit you should stuff it in your pocket. Otherwise, when I walk in I will see who is destroying the stall and I will make a mental note of it when you leave without stopping at the sink. KTHXBI
  15. Uh, the second quarter is April-June. C4C was definitely the 3rd quarter. They claim that even without C4C they would have made money, but they also had some one time accounting items that made them some money.
  16. Yeah, they keep saying it's a full size car, so I think it still has the same wheelbase as the G8 except it only has 2 doors. It shares a platform with the CTS Coupe, but they're not the same. Wheelbase and possibly track width are the first things I would suspect are different.
  17. The amount you have to put down on a conventional mortgage can depend on your credit. If you have really good credit you can put as little as 5-10% down. The lower the amount you put down, the more likely you'll be paying PMI or "Lender Paid PMI" which is basically accepting a higher interest rate. I would not default on your home unless you are in a financial situation where you can't make payments. The bank knows what your situation is and they will come after you for damages. Also, I think for a short sale you have to prove financial hardship, so if you can make payments with no problem right now you're not going to be approved for it. Lastly, I am a product of Columbus Public Schools, as well as several other people on here that I know. Getting a good education is all about the parents and the student. CPS has the environment where any student can apply themselves and get a good education. If you don't think your neighborhood school is up to par you can go through open enrollment and send them anywhere in the CPS system.
  18. They'e been changing up the menu a lot in the last few years and it completely turned me off. They need a re-vamp anyway.
  19. I wish I had a camera on my phone, instead I have failed you. On Friday I had a Chevy Volt pull up next to me on my way home. Must have been an engineer taking it home for the weekend.
  20. A lot of the layoffs are done. Both GM and Chrysler are hiring people (contract) for development. Chrysler has 500 positions and I'm not sure about the number GM is hiring. There have been huge culture changes at both companies. P.S. Good work Ford. They've actually been coming out with vehicles that I like and their JD Power, Consumer Reports, and sales numbers prove it.

While I would love a Vette as a race car, it would be pretty expensive to run. I am choosing something that has plenty of cheap body panels and replacement parts available, as well as plenty of decently priced tires in the size range that would fit. Or I have a kart that I haven't been able to use and was thinking of selling. You could always buy that from me
  22. That's a 458 test mule built on a 430 chassis. It's not a 450 and there is no such thing. The 458 was just released and it replaced the 430. http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Ferrari-458-Italia-Sportscar-back.jpg http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/speedhunters.com/Images/Carl%20Jarrett/FERRARI458/ferrari_458_01.jpg 3.1 Cutlass - The pictures you posted are either the same thing, or they are test mules for the 430 Scuderia. I don't know why you labeled one "430" and the other "450" because it's the same car with different levels of body updates. http://carblogheaven.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/2007_ferrari_f430scuderia2.jpg
  23. A "F450" is a Ford truck. That car is a Ferrari F430. There's a guy that lives near me that has a Scuderia. Awesome exhaust note.
  24. I think you mean Cometic. (http://www.cometic.com/domesticauto.aspx looks like it's $75) You can buy all the cosmetic's you want, it's not going to make his car run better...but it might make you feel pretty.
  25. The cars computer should be pretty accurate because it knows exaclty how much fuel has been injected...unless you did some tuning on teh ECU and numbers are fudged. I've had seeral friends with F-bodys and Vette's that have seen the same results. p.s. Pushrods suck
