  1. The car look amazing in person and it's worth every penny if you're comparing it to a Porsche 911. The rumor is the RS8 will get the RS6 Twin Turbo V10 or the V12 diesel.
  2. I researched getting one for about 4 years. I always wanted one, but decided to get new cars instead. So I know quite a bit about them for never owning one. You can put just about any GM engine into a Fiero, and probably all of them have been done before...LS1, LT1, 3.4L OHV, 3.4L DOHC, Quad 4, 3.8L, 3.8L S/C, 4.3L, 3.8L Turbo from a GN, Northstar V8, etc, etc. The S/C 3.8L is the common "easy" swap and there are a lot of parts out for that engine. I actually really like the 3.4L DOHC swap. It's a unique motor, can rev freely, has a different sound, etc. P.S. - SpaceGhost...did you used to live on the east side, off of 161? That pic of your Fiero reminds me of the one that used to sit across from my buddy's place.
  3. Needed a test mule for the Cadillac Sixteen powertrain Sometimes you get pretty crazy vehicle/engine combinations when they build test mules. Also, the V10 Mustang was pretty cool. If I remember correctly it was a V10 mod motor, and it ran off two ECU's. Supposedly, GM could get 300HP out of the DOHC 3.4L that was in the stock Z34 Lumina's, but it was detuned because there was no suitable tranny for it. Not sure how much weight there is in that, but it's a common Fiero swap and a few guys were getting pretty good HP out of them.
  4. I liked that car a lot too. As I understand, there was more than one in existance and they were fully running prototypes. Someone I knew in school said he drove one and it felt pretty dang fast. Although, there were issues with an Aztek AWD system standing up to the power of the LS1. The project did go somewhere though, it's probably the reason the GP GXP got a V8, but no AWD due to costs.
  5. Considering HP is a function of RPM, not really. How else do you think you're going to get 1000 AWHP out of 2.0L?? You spin it incredibly high and slap on a turbo that can flow 1000HP, which means it doesn't spool until 6500k rpm. Which is also why your torque value is so low when compared to HP. Torque < HP after 5252 rpm...long before this turbo even spools.
  6. Get him a car that does't need work to get on the road. Then make him study and get good grades in high school so he can retain use of the car. That's worth far more in the long run.

    New Guy

    Nice intro. Welcome.
  8. Wow, that's really sad. How does a 23 year old guy pass in his sleep? Too young, way too soon.
  9. I doubt that. The new T-6060 (or whatever it is) in the new Viper holds 600 HP just fine, and I expect the internals of that tranny will find their way into a transaxle for the Vette. I could be wrong though.
  10. The was seen earlier in the month but I just got around to posting it. Take a look at this news story on the company that builds one-off cars and prototypes...and Make a note of the car going togethEr with 4 turbos and a V12 http://video.knbc.com/player/?id=138485 It appears to be current footage inside the shop.
  11. From what I've heard, nothing will touch this car performance wise besides some VERY high dollar vehicles.
  12. I lived in Flint, MI for 4 years (school) and that is a complete shithole. That said, Detroit is too, but at least the suburbs are nice, and they're working to clean up downtown. There are just no jobs.
  13. I don't travel as frequent, but I may be away from home just as much. I'm Diamond VIP with Hilton (signed up in Dec, got to that status by mid-March) and Platinum with Holiday Inn. Also, all my travel expenses for work go on my personal credit card and I get reimbursed, so Capital One loves me too. I have an over abundance of points. I don't have too many airline miles since most of my work is driving (and I missed out on the New Zealand trip this year). Since we're testing cars when we travel I don't get rental cars.
  14. She walked away. She was lucky. There have probably been too many accidents on that stretch of road and it's obvious a lot of people get in over their head when driving it. The police have to do something in that situation.
  15. I came up on one of these (coupe, not roadster) on the freeway a few months ago. He punched it to get around a car before our exit and WOW! That thing is LOUD! Sounded pretty good and took off quick.
  16. It's on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991-300ZX-RB25DET-95-Skyline-Swap-Rare-Must-See_W0QQitemZ170137132733QQihZ007QQcategoryZ6398QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. This post is retarted. I thought it was sweet. Non-stop action. Go see it.
  18. There will still be plenty of parking on the side streets, downtown Pontiac, etc. at that time. I usually go down around noon and don't have too hard a time finding a spot.
  19. I thought "turbo slut" forever held that honor. *ba doom ching*
  20. The cruise runs from about 11 or 12 Mile Rd to Pontiac. I would stay off Woodward if I were you, unless it's early in the day. There is a lot of stuff between 13 mile and downtown Birmingham. I always park on a side street and walk around all afternoon. That's the best way to get around.
  21. Werd. I use Fidelity because that's where my company's 401k is through too. I'm still kicking myself...I sold Apple at 101 a few moths ago when that was the new high. I took a pretty decent gain on it and it looked like a good decision for about 2 weeks. I tried to rebuy at 89 but it missed by a few pennies.
  22. Perry Township sucks. When I first got my license I was driving home at night and had a car come up on me really fast, probably twice the speed limit of 35. The car was so close to my rear bumper that I couldn't see his headlights in my mirror. I had no idea it was a cop so I sped up. When I turned into my subdivision he flipped on his lights and gave me a ticket. I should have brake checked him.
  23. Mojoe, In the case above, wouldn't the amount of credit available to you possibly hurt your rating? Everything else you've said in this thread is in line with what I have been told. But I'm not sure how much available credit can effect your score. I used to put everything on my Amazon card, but stopped buying as many books after college. So I switched to Capital One but didn't cancel my Amazon card. It's going to expire at the end of the year so I wasn't going to bother cancelling it. Is there a difference between cancelling and not renewing? I get at least one credit card offer in the mail everyday and send them straight to the shredder.
