  1. I hear people say this a lot, but time and money does not equal a nice looking car. If someone spends 1000 hours on a complete piece of shit, I'm still going to say it's a piece of shit. *That comment has no relation to the topic at hand. I am not saying anyone on this board has a POS car that I make fun of. I only do that on the Mazda boards.
  2. Michael Moore is a manipulative fat fucker that slants his movies to portry his slanted view of reality in order to win support for his own political agenda. That's what Bowling for Columbine was and so is this piece of trash.
  3. Not suprising, all those pics were takin in his parents basement, where he currently resides.
  4. No, I didn't say it was MADE TO BE an autocross car, as it was developed as an open track car. My point was that many people bought the car for the sole purpose of autocross competition and it does VERY well. So it is, in fact, possible to market to that segment and it's not as small of a segment as some people think.
  5. Go to a larger regional or national level event and I think you'd be suprised. To a fair number of people it's a searious sport and there is a lot of money spent on it. There's a reason certain sized Falkin Azines are on backorder along with a few other tires that are usually scarce around mid summer. Marketing an entire car model to that segment? Well that's what the MazdaSpeed brand basically is along with Si models of Civics and even the Z06. Yes, the Z06 was developed as an open track car, but a small number of people have the money to open track that car and many autocrossers have bought the car for the sole purpose of parking lot competition. So in that respect, marketing a model to that segment has been very sucessful. You'd just have to go to a large event to see it. /threadjack
  6. Autocrossing is a lot bigger then you think. Let's not get into another arguement over who think the GTO looks too much like a Grand Prix and weather that's a good thing or not.
  7. What exactly is that supposed to mean? Do you realize that everything is global now? Nothing is made solely in the US anymore. Components from Mustangs are made in other countries just as parts of the GTO are made in the US. Where do you think all the engineering occurred for the LS1? Not Austrailia. Saying one car is better then the other because of where it was built is the lamest arguement ever. Basically, the cars were built for different purposes. The driver at Trails sucked at life. There's a post every few weeks about how the GTO is slower then a Mustang and that it sucks because of it. BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT IT WAS BUILT FOR. Yea, it costs more and it's slower in the quarter mile. So does an M3, does that make it suck? Everyone's gotta get over this.
  8. yea, I was about to order the ~$80 kit that has the car wash, clay bar, polish, etc. Let me know what kind of deal it is (although after tomorrow I'll be out of town until Sun)
  9. When will people finally stop arguing about this and finally get it through their head that THE GTO IS NOT A DRAG CAR!
  10. upper 20's/low 30's I said this to a friend last week and I'll repeat it here: The Prius and the Insight have been engineered to have extremely low rolling resistance and some of the lowest Cd's of any production car. Put these on ANY car and they will produce better mpg. IMO a gas powered (non-hybrid) car with the same specs would perform similarly. Thats why GM's hybrid Silverado only uses the batterys to power the car while at rest, and not electric motors to move the car. The only place we should be looking is alternative fuels. We should be moving towards using E-85 for the near future. It's domestically produced, clean, higher compression ratio's can be used, more boost, more power, etc.
  11. I go to Kettering University www.kettering.edu Cincinatti Purdue OSU Case Western Reserve All are great engineering schools in my opinion. Kettering and Cincinatti have extensive co-op programs which is a huge plus in my book. The other schools let you co-op for a term or two, but it sets your graduation back. Akron University also has a descent engineering program.
  12. that's not GM. This is his "aftermarket body kit" for a C6 that he designed.

  14. Send me some pics. What size is it/how tall are you? mall8469@kettering.edu
  15. The officer was nice enough to tell me they were targeting that area. South bound they sit at the Broad St. exit, North bound must be about the same since I saw someone pulled over there today after they left the autocross. Slow down while it says 55 and you'll be fine.
  16. #1 It's not just the bike, There are extra parts included. #2 thats why it says OBO

  20. Why run away from the problem? I know I've met some people through this board that I would have never talked to otherwise. I'm sure many others feel the same, and because of that the older members feel this is more of a community. It would be a shame to lose all that because a few post whores couldn't be handeled.
