\ You suck at reading comprehension. I said I wouldn't spend $100k on a WAGON, no matter how much money I made. Sure, if I was a billionaire I would buy Pagani's and Koenigsegg's, or any other high performance sports car/supercar that I'd want, but not a wagon. Cool car? Sure. Worth the price? No way. Not from what they've said about it so far. The difference is, you can't afford it now and you're bitching to someone that probably can afford it (if I haven't had all these medical costs for my son) because I see 100 different, better was to spend $100k on performance cars.

My previous job was tuning ESC. I spent nearly every day on a test track for 5+ years driving the cars I worked on and competitor vehicles for benchmarking. At this time I owned a MSP (which was modified for track use and was used at Waterford, Gratten, Mid Ohio), a 125cc TAG TonyKart, the Sky, I did a few autocrosses in a friends Trans Am and another friend 400HP Talon, helped build a CRX for the $2005 GRM Challenge, was in FSAE in college, did my SCCA drivers school at Nelson Ledges...should I really go on? Happy to feed the trolls. Says the guy with a GTI? :dumb:

Meh. I've driven a lot more fast cars a lot harder then you ever will. kickass - I thought my leading comment about the DWiggs thread would signal to all the Audi fanboys that what followed was sarcasm. It's an awesome car. AWD is awesome. This car will be fast. But it's a fucking $100k LOL wagon. No way in hell am I ever spending $100k on a wagon (no matter how much money I have).

Since the DWiggs thread got bumped I felt I should mention that AWD is worthless and RWD cars are the fastest. A winter time 'Blizzak mod' on a V is a lot less than $40k. Don't get me wrong, I think the car is awesome, but for the price I would buy a slightly used V wagon and a C7 Vette. I just can't get past the fact that it's a $100k wagon.

Ehh, my point is it's a fucking family hauler wagon. It doesn't matter all that much if it's a few tenths quicker or not. Is driving the Audi really worth a 40k premium? And if speed or acceleration is the deciding criteria you can make a lot of HP reliably with an LSA for not much money.

Looks pretty nice, but it will probably cost $40k more than a CTS-V Wagon. And for paying $40k more they should at least spell "quattro" in the grill so that CTS-V drivers can read it in their mirrors.

I agree with them 100%. As I stated in anotehr thread, when I was at SAE Convergence a few months ago I spoke with a few people in the industray who said they are pulling some things out of China due to the quickly rising costs. For them, it's not cheaper to manufacture in Mexico by a large margin, and China is almost on par with the US. Corporations have a responsibility to their shareholders to maximize profits, which is good....to a point. We still need these types of jobs in the US, or else the only thing outsourcing will continue to do is increase the gap between the upper and middle class. At some point, employing people in the US and allowing people to earn an income capable of buying your products is smarter business than saving 0.02 on each part. I look at children's toys and shake my head in disbelief. They're mostly simple designs of injection molded plastic and they are all made in China. Is it really that much cheaper to ship the raw materials to China, manufacture, then ship back a simple piece of plastic than it is to do it here? There's got to be a way to add more automation to the process in order to bring the US labor costs down to a reasonable level.

A - 2003.5 MazdaSpeed Protege - This car handled VERY well. Many magazines said it was the best handling FWD car they had driven; SCC even compared it to the Integra Type R. B - Saturn Sky - It reacted relatively fast to steering inputs, but I wouldn't say it had great feedback. F - Jeep Wrangler. C - Dodge Challenger - not much feedback and the early cars had a giant steering wheel. I'm glad they made the wheel smaller in 2011+ cars, but that's also when it got EHPS. I've driven a lot of other cars, but it's not worth it to rate them...

The custom big rigs are getting popular. Some guys have their front bumper hinged and attached to a motor so they can flip it up when they approach a bump or driveway.
