  1. The LNF was good for over 400 HP, and I haven't kept up on it, but I don't think anyone found the limits of the block, just the limits of the DI fuel system. There were stock block LE5's (2.4L) pushing 450 HP.
  2. There are 2 PC properties in Bora Bora, 1 in Moorea, and at least one in Tahiti. All are wonderful, except a trip to Moorea is best spent at the Hilton. If you're looking to go just let me know. I've stayed at the Hilton Moorea, and Intercontenental in Faa. One of my good friends just got back from his second trip to Bora Bora and he's stayed at both IC's each time, and this time made a stop at the IC in Moorea. That's a great points bonus! Over the winter time they used to do their best promotions. Almost every year I would get double (one time even triple) points for 2.5 months of hotel stays. Just be aware that if you register for a promotion you may need to check out for 24 hours, then check back in for it to take effect.
  3. Nice car and good intro. I've seen a Challenger diff break like that once before, but it was due to massive, repeated wheel hop, not monstrous power.
  4. Yeah, it's such a big win for the deficit.... I understand the mentality of pinching pennies, but we're talking about saving a penny while adding additional dollars to our spending. This is a non-issue to me. It's nothing but political hand waving while dodging the tough issues. Honestly, I don't see why Romney would even bring this up. No one is going to vote for him because of this, but some will vote against.
  5. Guy at my work at one for lunch a few months ago.
  6. So the show will continue to have funding for filming, but who will air it? The stations that broadcast it will be shut down, so in a sense it's not a false statement. There are tough budgetary decisions that need to be made, but I don't think axing public broadcasting is really attacking the "meat" of the issue. There's not much to be gained from it, IMO.
  7. Detroit Auto Show in January.
  8. It made cnn.com too. Most awesome half time show ever.
  9. I used to have this job on the supplier side. It's actually not hard to find this position. My old company was having trouble finding people about a year ago. As a result, they hired their first test engineer that did not have an engineering degree.
  10. My friend got his kids Kindle Fire's and they love them. One's 2.5 and the other is ~18 months.
  11. You should read the link I posted on page 2. http://campaignstops.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/09/edsall-the-ryan-sinkhole/?smid=tw-share I still have not seen anything to refute this. If anyone care to post some facts that discredit this, be my guest.
  12. If she's at 95% capacity and turning away orders but you are just breaking even, you either need to hire more people to increase your volume, cut your costs, or raise your prices. You have to either increase your volume or make your current volume more lucrative. Maybe you could come up with a line of 'standard' cake options that don't take up as much time and increase the prices on the 'custom' cakes. Hook up with wedding planners or banquet halls/hotels and set up a referral program. These are cakes that are planned months in advance, command higher prices, and you could easily up sell options to increase your margins.
  13. I'm jealous of your roadster! (Well, and the rest of your cars) I never thought I would like driving the Volt as much as I do, but it really is nice. Everything I've read on the Model S has been really positive, it's fast, it has a good range, and it's priced well. They're still trickling out of the factory at a snails pace, but it should be picking up soon.
  14. I totally agree with this. It's a tough business to be in, but word of mouth spreads quickly and she does incredible work. You make it sound as if the business is making money, just not as much as you had hoped. If that's the case, I think that is a huge accomplishment for only having a store front for one year.
  15. It's coming, first as "super cruise" on the highway, then progressive adding additional functions. This will be huge for the elderly/growing elderly population.

    jimmies

That stuff is so damn crunchy, my wife made me go in another room. Jimmie's successfully rustled.
  17. Yeah, I'm sure this is why the LSx has proven to be a shit motor too. There is a curb weight difference too. A better A to B comparison is in the Challenger where the body, interior, trans, etc. all basically stayed the same.
  18. BRB, trying to convince my wfie we should sell our house and buy a GallardoTT.
  19. Judging by how well the CR poll compared to the actual voting results 4 years ago, this means Obama will win by a landslide.
  20. Shit. That's going to suck driving through when it's under construction...for over 2 F-ING YEARS! And I'll second that. The simulation video blows.
  21. I've had this happen as well. The biggest card you can play in a negotiation is walking away.
  22. Lol. I've probably put more miles on SRT products than anyone on this forum. I worked in vehicle development and was focused on Chrysler models, which included all Challenger, 300/Charger, Journey, Sebring/Avenger, Caliber/Patriot/Compass, and Wrangler variants as well as select Nitro, Ram, and Grand Cherokee's (including some testing with your SRT WK). Probably 90% of the time I spent in these vehicles involved limit handling on a closed test track. I left this position for my current job close to the 6.4L Challenger launch (probably spent ~3 days a week, 8-12 hours a day, for 6 months in this car), while we were working with 6.4L LX/LD mules. I spent even more time in the 6.1 cars. So, yeah, I think I can speak on the subject.
