  1. I'm for the original link or at least a factory head unit with upgraded amp and 3 in one speakers with drivers. We have had too many cars broken into for aftermarket head units and we even had the kenwood flip face ones that look completely blank when you turn the car off. The bose in the vette blows but I would never change the head unit.
  2. awesome! 680 hp out of 282 cubic inches naturally aspirated is quite impressive! I would like to see the power curve- with 6.50:1 rear gear I bet that baby has no low end at all. Where do they run the SS/DM series so I can watch these guys?
  3. can't one of you computer guys get the ip address from the poster on that forum and get their name and home address like csi?
  4. was there a short driveshaft between the 'glide and the 9"?
  5. thanks guys- that's what I thought but the ls motors have the same firing order of the 5.0 HO (IIRC) and they don't sound like it either. The weird thing is the ohc 4.6 sounds similar to the 302 so maybe it is more of a factor of exhaust design.
  6. As the title says, has anyone on here actually heard a 3" stroke 4" bore chevy 302 like in the 67 camaro z28? Does it sound like a ford 302 or 5.0 HO?
  7. hah or any german car for that matter. sux dude.
  8. Anyone know what these guys are using for rearends and transmissions to handle this sort of abuse? Are they just using beefed up front-engine transmission with a really short driveshaft to a semi rear or something like that? Or are they using some sort of transaxle like porsche/ferrari/fwd variants/ They aren't running right off the crank to the differential are they? Thanks, Andrew
  9. wouldn't very low vacuum and oil in the coolant/coolant in the oil also be a sign?
  10. FWIW - You may want to edit the above post as it could hurt your negotiating position down the road- the internet is a small world. I will edit this one if you do. btw I think I saw a white pantera the other day in a garage off of hyatts road in delaware
  11. My son has been shotgun in my c5 z06 almost daily from 3.5 months to 15 months. He is now too large for that seat so the last 2 months he has only been in the explorer with his new seat. As long as it will fit I will put him back in the vette (however I am not sure if there is a tether attachment so he may not get to ride again until he is older)- as AJ mentioned there are latch connectors and you turn the airbag off with the key. I even had the hilliard fire department check the installation and they approved before we went riding together. hth, Andrew
  12. hey all- l Ford truck 351W- assuming F150 from 2002... currently has fuel injection. To convert over to carb I need an edelbrock manifold, holley carb, distributor, Lower fuel pump pressure or different fuel pump, anything else? Does the cam have the proper gear for the dizzy or do I need a different cam as well? Thanks! Andrew Considering a car for a project...
  13. A porsche tech should know how to appropriately fill the oil on a porsche flat six but I do know that with the dry sump setup on my dads old '87 M491 (turbo look) 911 cab it was different and someone could easily make a mistake- the engine had to be running and at temp IIRC ....it took like 10 quarts as well...
  14. m&m head service in delaware- mike rush or eric graves in plain city
  15. My father and I enjoy all motorsports and know very little about high performance driving. The few scca autocrosses I have been to are a lot of hassle/time/energy for a few minutes of driving of which the first two runs I do not even finish to get a time because I am trying to learn the course. I hear the porsche club events are better which sean graciously provided the information for me but in reality with our young son and a kitchen renovation I have not made it out once. I feel my dad and I should get more out of the corvettes we own (03 z06 and 08 coupe) and it would be a fun experience to do together. I do not think we will be traveling/trailering all across the country with spare tires/brakes/clutches to various road racing events afterwards but will maybe hit up mid ohio or nelson ledges once or twice a year. It is either something like this or we build another drag car together.
  16. Hey all-- Wondering if anyone on here has ever been to one of the big name high perf. driving schools and what they thought about it?
  17. my 5.0 coupe had 180K miles on the body and interior and the interior was not as clean as that one- the exterior was cleaner but I think it had been repainted. It is possible it has 40K miles but again it will be questioned with the aftermarket cluster.... the rear hatch rust is unfortunate for that few amount of miles but again I think that is a factor of years more than miles
  18. not sure what type of car it is and how hard a time you have had selling it but I would wait for a better less risk deal. How do you know he will be approved for the loan, tell him to come up with the cash or cashiers check through cash advance on a credit card, relative, or a home equity line loan or something and then he can figure out getting reimbursed from the bank once he has the title himself... a week to get your money, no wire transfer option, fedex overnight mail- sounds fishy to me... BOA=bank of america- never would have guessed.
  19. I thought the lights were working last time?
  20. ^^^ Are you sure? The schedule says the 28th??
  21. damn weather whens the next time?
  22. how is tech for the grudge racing- do they allow passengers?
  23. If it doesn't rain my dad and I and my brother in law will be there- I thought it started at 7-8? My dad has a crystal red c6 (burgundy-ish), I have a silver-brown c5 z06 (its a daily other than winter and I am too busy right now to polish it).
