  1. I hate you guys..... I picked up the Glenlivet 15yr French Oak yesterday and have had a "few" so far. My opinion is that it is very smooth and tasty. The oak smell and taste is prevalent, shocking, and is very tasty. The smell is nice with a great taste to follow. I am using a very small piece of ice to swirl in the snifter prior to adding the scotch. This cools the glass and leaves a small piece to open it up. Very good in my opinion. Definitely on my list of good scotches. I have had a smoke with each taste as well We need to get a gathering for this for sure. Who has a large deck or patio to gather on?
  2. That sounds nice. I think someday I will have to pick up a new 5.0.
  3. I'm at my desk by 6:40-6:45 every morning. In the lab around 7-7:15 depending on the emails I have to go through. If I'm up past 10 during the week it's because there is a late game on that I want to watch. Other than that, dvr works for me. I'm happy with life now and it keeps me out of trouble living this way. The weekends aren't quite the same, but someone gets us up by 7:15 anyway, so I don't go too crazy very much anymore. Here and there, but not like I used to. I still get to do what I want most of the time and I have a great family, so I'm not one bit mad about any of it.
  4. What time do you get up for work? My schedule is set up so that I get to work early and get out earlier than most. I just hate traffic and would rather enjoy the day than be sitting inside wishing that I was already off work. Doesn't matter how many hours you work, it's when you go in. Yes, I feel like I am older than I am with my schedule, but I've gotten used to it.
  5. The Glenlivet 15yr French Oak is tasty I assume? I will be picking a bottle up here soon. I figure that with all of the hype in this thread that it can't be too bad
  6. This is the truth. No need to water anything down to the point of losing flavor. A little bit of water will go a long way in pulling the smell and flavor out a bit.
  7. The serie V is rather tasty. The idea of a cigar and scotch club is rather interesting. Everyone sign up for a different scotch and bring it, so that we could sample many. Obviously I wouldn't push anyone to bring cigars for everyone, but that wouldn't be frowned upon. As far as the smoking jacket, I don't think it's necessary at all
  8. Depends on your taste. I like the smokey flavor of the Islay scotches, but I think that is a love it or hate it thing. Laphroaig is one of my personal favorites and it's ~$40 a bottle. Lagavulin 18, I think, is another favorite. It's around $90 a bottle though. There are still a whole lot of them that I haven't tried, but give it time
  9. I'd say that knowing that they would have more issues with no track prep makes their decision that much worse. Dumb? I don't think that is the right word. Definitely not a good decision, but from the looks of the cash in hand at the end of the video they were weighing risk vs. reward and decided it was worth the risk. The worst part is that even if you make it down the track with no issues, the person in the lane next to you could cause an accident just as easily. Fun to watch, but not worth the risk to me. I'd like to keep the original body panels thanks.
  10. Looks like another one went down http://www2.nbc4i.com/entertainment/2011/feb/23/2/deadliest-catch-crew-member-found-dead-motel-ar-404701/
  11. Summit Racing is only a couple of hours away
  12. Funny part is that a certain AMG car only beat a very lightly modded 97 4-valve car by 1/2 car. Really? Come on guys.
  13. Shoot me the details through PM. Guy isn't a friend, just someone that I have seen around a few times. He said that his friend wasn't too smart for what he did either. I was just curious as to what really happened. I only got that side of it and figured that there was more to it.
  14. I told them to leave the kid at home if they don't want bad things to happen in the future. Not a smart move on that kids part.
  15. Not so serious, but it seems that these little kids running around take themselves a little too seriously these days.
  16. Who are you and are you really serious about his tiny little comment? Mad because he made a good point about finding someone to watch your kid while you run out and put yourself in bad situation? Hmm.....maybe it's time to man up and not get so hurt when someone makes a valid point.
  17. I talked with a couple guys today when I picking up some things and they mentioned that they had a "run in" with some guys on here. They said Wednesday night, I'd assume this week but I don't know for sure. Seems some people were running off at the cock suck about running a red Evo and the guy with the Evo didn't want to run. I guess this pissed off some of the douches and they began running their mouths some more. In the end one of the friends of the owner of said Evo decided he needed to pull a knife? Not sure what really went down, but that the guy didn't want to run and some people from CR felt the need to push the issue. Nice to see that you guys are stupid in person too, of course pulling a knife is dumb as hell too. Please feel free to give the other side to this story, so that hopefully you guys weren't trying to be tough guy street racers in FUCKING Columbus, Ohio. You guys wonder why those of us who have been around for awhile don't venture out to the parking lots anymore. It's to avoid the "I'm tougher than you because I can hustle a street race" bullshit.
  18. So, what does the weight end up being? It still has to be a blast to drive. Makes me think of a road worthy go-kart for some reason.
  19. Nice looking Mach 1. Very clean inside and out.
  20. I find this strangely funny. Not because of what he said, but my wife works for the OEPA and she said he had some odd comments during his speech and she mentioned this after it happened. I'm not surprised that someone was recording the speech either.
  21. Not bad, but their location in Powell has a ridiculous lounge. Whenever I stop in there they have some movie on and the surround sound is silly. Looks like some comfy leather chairs in there too. Much larger room than the one on Huntly.
  22. I'm jealous. That is on my to-do list. Of course, no one seems to give two shits about OSU b-ball so this thread probably won't go too far.
  23. Back patio or at the in-laws on their back deck.
  24. I would like to see that race with the Z and GT500 on drag radials. Kind of hard to out 60' an AWD car on stock rubber. I would also like to see someone behind the wheel who doesn't shift so damn slow. Nose dropping like crazy going down. That is all.
  25. Definitely like the car list. Do your best to help your son through beating the cancer. Sorry to hear that. Welcome as well.
