We're slaves to the banks. I broke away and I'm happier and richer than ever, I just don't owe the bank and the result of that is that I seem to live beneath others. Sometimes I run into those who point it out, sometimes I run into those who wish they had the balls to do it however they are afraid of those other people's opinions.

The indoor stuff could be connected to a 70volt configured AMP, you could tell by settings on the back of the unit and you'd need to get the OHMs reading from the lines connected to the AMPs outputs to tell what AMP size you'd need, this is of course hoping all your 1970's speakers are still in good condition and even connected. I replace these systems all the time at the hotels around my area so I sorta know what you got indoors anyway. Sounds like you do need the pro's to at least consult on it.

It can be very complicated or very simple, depending on what your wanting just like about anything else. If your going need the sound equally distributed across the entire area you'd need a lot of speakers spread out and driven by an AMP that can handle a 70volt set up vs the usual 8ohms configuration. This isn't likely outdoors unless your talking about a really big outdoor venue thats permanently fixed. If your looking for what most places get such as what the radio stations bring to events in their van then that is more what I'm talking about above, you'll be able to hear it across the whole area, but won't be loud until your near the "stage" so to speak and then it will be too loud right in front of the speakers like I know you've ran into at events which is fine and just how its done for mobile applications. But yeah, there are calculations etc if you want to go full on "sound engineer".

My mind always goes to "cheap and get it done." That's awesome hope you can get the answers. I don't know much about the wattage or size requirements and would probably have to Google a bit and then wing it. I'd guess a pretty common 2 channel amp at like 150watts/channel at 8ohms would drive some effecient speakers decent. I do audio work some but I'm not usually specing out equipment, I just install it or hook it up or whatever the situation demands. I'm interested in the thread anyway as an audiophile and I do the technical work for my daughters voice studio at times.

Update, my insurance company was completely useless and I'm changing ASAP. One of the at fault companies stepped up to the plate and took care of everything. They are North Carolina only so I can't switch to them or I would. Cars in the shop and will be done in a few days.

Multi channel mixer, an amp to some speakers and a laptop to play music would get you going pretty well if your just needing an area set up for some sound and maybe a mic or two. Probably $1000-1500 to get that if you shop for price and at least some quality. I look at the Habitat for Humanity stores all the time and find nice stage equipment if you don't mind used to increase quality but some of that is luck

Its not a hard job, I haven't done a jeep specifically, but its pretty much the same as any D44 as far as the technical procedures. Just go slow with a plan to get the gears right.

I stored my truck at a place about 45 minutes away to get good prices when I lived near Charlotte. It was $30/month, this was near a lake with camping etc so maybe that will help you with ideas up your way.

They let you sell a cat up there? They just made it very hard to do here in SC. You'd have to prove where you got it for sure and even have a scrappers permit in my county.

This, is the secret. I did the same thing I have more house than we need, paid 60k for it and got an acre of land to put it on 5 miles from the beach. It's worth 4 times as much now and our mortgage is 600/mo. Only downside is some people don't like mobile homes lol. Tons of money left over every month to save or buy toys.

I hear ya, it's very common here for retirees to spend retirement on a restaurant franchise or something else and all they end up with is an 80hr week and a 50k job.

😂 I just drove by Holden Beach today. It's very nice up there but far from stuff.

Price is pretty typical of what you'd find at the beach stores here because here they go after the impulse buyers. I suppose for price, pay a few percent more for made local vs the china stuff. I'm thinking especially at the store front market to that for sure with the story, the photos of the family, the process what ever to get the emotional reaction to make the sale. Store front would also likely have a "window into the shop" experience to see the machine building and maybe people doing stuff eventually. Even "while you wait" stuff like engraving, maybe even painting if I can get a drying process thats reasonable for some products.
-
I run around the beach stores here and see boat loads of "made in china" stuff. Especially the wooden items such as "Lifes better at the beach" signs, etc. My question is, why can't a piece of wood be made here and sold as "Made local" right here in the very county they are sold in. I have the space, I have the time, all I really need is less than 10K in equipment and I could be churning out USA products to sell at the "local" owned shops and even open my own store front. Now lets shoot this down because I wanna know if I'm gonna get a visit from the Chinese mob and be swimming off the coast somewhere. No market for it? Can't compete with price? Yeah, you'll be wearing iron boots...

The reason I do day trades only unless its a long term severely undervalued company such as a start up that I see potential in. I find them, but they are rare gems so not often. I'll put a few hundred to a few thousand in those and typically make a good return, however it can take 5 years before any real movement. GSAT GlobalStar is a recent example, I buy it at 0.35-0.40 cents and hold for a few years and sell for above $2. I've done this with that company several times over the past decades.

I knew those things were more than cute. Very interesting read.

Already in end of life care, fell out of bed under care of nursing facilities and for the most part immobalized and then died of covid just because we gotta get those numbers up people!
-
This is 100% true, my sister in law is a nurse in Ohio and was reassigned to handle critical patients during the worst of it last year and saw exactly this constantly. They had 100+ yr old people die from head injuries from falls and were mark COVID death among other things where people were already terminal.

I use a blue parrot headset on the job. It's awesome for the noisy tourist areas I'm in and I use it for talking while running equipment in the yard too, ie chainsaws. I use it in the service vehicle to talk to clients while driving and I listen to YouTube channels while driving as well. Excellent noise cancellation but not something everyone would need.

Full disclosure I hate both sides pretty much equally these days, feel like I've grown a lot. I still like to keep my freedom and my money but at the same time it's confusing because as a society and a planet there is simply some compromise and working together that must happen for the good of our species and our home talking globally. Not sure how to solve the domineering and tyrannical qualities of both sides and pretty much tired of it.

I said Near 39. If you looked and 37 is highest then to most people that's near 39. If you wanna go there we can do some taxes and I'll show you that people in 37% don't get the same deductions as people in the 15%. For a few you don't get standard deduction right off the bat so that's 24,000 you can't subtract. Next the child care stuff, social security, etc etc. I personally run a business and make it look like I make almost nothing, but that is it's own problem, keeping it simple banks use line 31 of a schedule C to determine income. I post a few thousand however my monthly take-home is equivalent of a person earning just under 100k. Remember wife a banking VP makes a bit too so we're way over a mark to lose a ton of deductions so it's a trade off. Between income and investments it's not hard to be in the top bracket and if your just a couple W2 employees with investments that aren't long term or your house flippers etc then it's not hard to be in that top without help from deductions.

Love the idea of the fold but yeah, I drop my note 8 in sand and ocean all the time lol

Without going to far into it I can see tax understanding is low. The more you make the more you pay in percentages and at a point in the middle it's pretty rough. Make less and you get a lot of breaks, make much above that middle or certain conditions like business ownership and you can get the rates lowered through strategies. If your a W2 employee who just makes a lot and is caught in that middle zone there are no breaks and tax rate can be near 39% With capital gains it's usually about 10% on long term, and anything short term is taxed at the ordinary rate of your income, ie you earn 50k and made short term gains in Bitcoin of 50k you get taxed at 100k bracket. This stuff isn't rocket science, I'm a small business, day trader, etc wife makes a lot, on paper my business doesn't. I'm also a tax guru and have a good friend and client tax attorney and we talk about this stuff a lot because we're nerds lol. Most of the information is single page stuff on the IRS website so not hard.

I saw the s21 ultra s pen compatibility yesterday while searching around. I work the hell out of my note 8 currently and it's battery life is over 3 years old and still maintains charge throughout the day though it's getting to around 30% lately. My work the hell out of it I mean constant browsing constant app monitoring with clients on the phone with engineers for 6 hours at a stretch and also Wi-Fi tethering to laptop for remote access for hours at a time all at the same time. Been a totally awesome phone and I'll probably go up to the 20 I was just hoping someone would come in the thread saying a phone for half the price IE a pixel or whatever could do all the same.
-
Thats a good point, I forgot they don't do headphone jacks anymore. I'd have to get a bluetooth option for my work van. If it wasn't for the stylus I wouldn't use a note, just wondering if there is a stylus ability on other phones that would do what I need. The little menu that pops up when you take the stylus out is something I use regularly. I like the idea of the Z fold or whatever model and I see it can use the samsung stylus, but I am around beach sand way to much and I could see destroying that screen with sand between the two screens. Oh and the $$$ wow.
