Coffee gets me through lol. As far as supplements I haven't tried anything for energy, but I take echinacea daily which I totally believe has helped me go from constantly catching every cold, etc the kids bring home to pretty much being free of any sickness like that for 6-7 years. Usually everyone else in the household gets pretty sick for a few days and I just get maybe not feeling well, but still functional enough that I never miss work for it. No one else here will take things routinely, I'm blessed with having the gambit of meds and stupid equipment which brings me to severe sleep apnea (worst case two sleep doctors ever seen) and I guess I've had it my whole life and didn't know until I was 38 (family seems to have it, and I was underweight and still had it) which pisses me off now that I've got that treated very well with a sleep apnea machine and constant vigilance of learning to sleep well with it. That gave me great energy and I'm now a morning person. I could go on and on about getting help for that condition, but we'll stick to supplements for now.

I've had an extremely busy past two weeks so I haven't gotten back to it. I probably won't get to it next week either unless I do some work this weekend. Good tip on the pump seal, I'll look on youtube. Anyone know where to get the good diagrams and instructions? I had some when I did the chain a few years ago, but can't find them in my file server.

This shit really gets me, I know I'm not the only one who's been hanging out and getting chased out of lots since they were a teenager. With the size of the car scene in Columbus and Ohio you'd think there would be an outlet for this type of event. I can't do much from where I live now, but if there's anything remote to help get things going I'll do what I can. I'd love to get something official going in the Myrtle Beach area. I personally know the owner of the performance place here and she puts on the Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam annually. Also they just had the Run to the Sun car show which is huge normally though not so much this year and it was cancelled last year.

Ok so I changed the oil bypass valve and upon starting up I had 20lbs for about 30 seconds, no chain rattle, seemed good except pressure is a bit low for a cold start. I throttled up to 2-3k and oil pressure moved up past 50lbs. After the initial 30 seconds or so I'm down to 10lbs or below and chain rattling. If I carefully increase RPMs back to 2k it slowly builds pressure back up past 30-50lbs and no chain rattle. I'm thinking, oil isn't getting up from the pan so oil pump or plugged screen but I'm not familiar with the car so any ideas?

If it's gonna be finished in metal then they call those 2x4s girts and they use them to attach the metal siding, otherwise I don't know.

Good options guys, we live in a part of the area where the land isn't worth much at all except to the locals who are also poor, no chance of anyone buying it and putting a average suburb house on it. Myself I'd buy it in a minute because its next door to me and I have no problem removing the trash and buildings. The current value is probably 20K with at least 20-30k in work that would need to be done to clear the lot and then install the water/sewer up to county code which costs 17K for the water taps here. And that 20-30K would be what it would cost me total to get it ready for a house. I'm even thinking about getting her a GOFUNDME or similar to raise money and I'll operate the excavator and hire a dumpster service. Anyone ever do the GOFUNDME stuff? I hear stories all the time, but I've personally no clue. As far as selling it, she won't, its the place she grew up on, but only about an acre and thats how everyone in the neighborhood is. Almost all related and local southerners so very poor, but very nice people, I personally fit right in because I'm the type that will pull your stuck car out of the ditch and help with anything I'm asked. I was raised in a very similar place in rural Ohio and enjoy it.

Thanks, I didn't think about the Agency on Aging which is funny I used to do work in their facilities all the time. I'll see what South Carolina has, usually states mimic each other in services and gov stuff.

Something I found on my own to allow for repair costs to be added to a mortgage https://www.hud.gov/program_offices/housing/sfh/203k I don't even mind doing a lot of the work for her, I have nothing to gain except friendship, I have a ton of skills and lots of time, I just don't have money and there's some things permitting wouldn't allow me to do on her property without licensing.

Anyone know of any resources beyond the quick google searching? I've got an elderly neighbor who had been living with someone for a long time +10 years and they died and now she's pretty much homeless however she does own the land next door to me with an old unlivable house and a bunch of junk cars. Currently I've been helping her out as she's put a camper on the land and has been trying to get it livable and I've been fixing gas leaks, charging her batteries etc. I talk to her quite a bit and she works, and her mind appears good, but like most in my neighborhood she's very poor and just doesn't know what resources are out there to get help and doesn't really want to bother people. I sat down today to make it my mission to do some heavy googling and would love any input. She's also got some interesting old POS cars, one is an 1980's or 90's Peugeot.

In about 96 when I started driving back in my home of Marietta Ohio we had lifted trucks, lights, etc and got harassed by the cops all the time and got warnings, tickets for bumper height, uncovered off-road lights etc. They seemed to stop the harassment after 2000 and now I see those stupid Carolina squat trucks running all over with way to many lights turned on and 40" front bumpers heights rolling coal while the rear is dragging the ground. Stupidest shit ever. Maybe it's just cause I'm in the south.

5-10 at cold start is way low. Goes to zero after a minute or two and chains rattling. Normal cold start is always been at least 50 and worm idle a little above 20. That's my observation and the same as about anyone on car specific forums that I've searched. Example https://www.cadillacforums.com/threads/oil-pressure.124909/#:~:text=Around%2027%20psi%20at%20idle,psi%20at%2060-65%20mph.

Now that I have a garage I moved my 2008 CTS 3.6L into it to try to get it on the road again. It's sat for a couple years now so here's what I know right now. One day I parked it, next day I went to start it and the timing had jumped so I replaced the timing chains and put it back together, however upon trying it out the oil pressure was reading about 5-10 on the gauge and the chains were rattling so I'm pretty sure that the pressure is low. I will put a mechanical gauge on it soon to confirm that. Any ideas? I'm willing to entertain that I put it together wrong or something is plugging the oil system or the oil pump went bad which caused the chain issue in the first place. I haven't diagnosed this type of stuff for a while but it can sit while I figure it out.

My 10yr old daughter and I whipped these up pretty quickly over the weekend. There about 9ft high 8ft wide and shelves are 30 inches deep. The workbench tops are just some old wet 2x12s I had laying around. They will be fine for automobile benches and will be pretty nice when they dry out and I can sand them.

Do you think the housing market is going to cool off soon?
Tractor replied to Johny Utah's topic in Dumpster
My very moddest home here 10 minutes from the beach has increased 100% in value in 3 years and probably more the past 6 months. Land was almost impossible to get 3 years ago and now its simply not for sale. The developers are breaking ground all around us and my fear is that since my particular neighborhood is very low income we'll eventually get forced out to make room for something. I really don't ever plan to sell this place, I really like it and at the most I might buy a second home somewhere or something ocean front even if its a condo and rent this house out. -
That's a really good idea. I was thinking of a switch on my charging outlet but I like the idea of a timer. I know milwaukee's charging stations go bad if left plugged in without a battery to charge. Don't know if it's bad to leave them tending a battery.

Trucks about 8 high and 9' 6" at the mirror brackets and the door is 10x10 so not too bad but you don't want to miss.

That's progress! love that off-road forklift.

Oh god I know. I got this building in before steel went up, at this point if I tried it out of wood it would have been more expensive for sure just for materials. I'm glad I got my deck built Nov 2019, I still have my old design spreadsheets and I paid 25% the price I would today so about 1100 vs 4400.

I put my truck in the garage to see how it would work before I went off to Lowes to get shelving material. I'll have room to walk around all sides and do work. I had a bunch of scrap laying around so I whipped up a quick dolly for one of my work tables. I should have scrap plywood when I'm done with the shelves and I'll add it to the bottom to make another shelf as well as putting a larger piece of nice MDF or something on the table top as a good work surface.

Normally its just some poor guy rear ends me in my pos car and their insurance gets me way more than its worth to replace it. They already made an offer for a lot however its split between both parties so I guess I'll figure it out. Being a work van its much more important that I keep it on the road making money.

Not really, people were gonna get in the market regardless, the low rates are just pushing the price higher to compensate along with supply/demand. There's a ton of reasons this is crazy and trouble. Think about it, if rates are 7% your gonna buy a 170k house if there 2.5% your gonna get something more like 300k. Maybe people shouldn't but they do. Then the shutdowns forced materials up so yeah. -
That's more my experience as well. I might just get them to cut me checks and forget it, replace my tail light, bend some metal and call it good. It's a work van and almost at end of life.

Rates are very low and banks are back into the practice of giving anyone a loan. My wife is a bank manager and she basically tells people her rate and it's a no brainer to refi right now and she's so busy it's crazy. I do expect a cooldown through. There's no way prices can continue to no matter what the Realtors like to think. No one who's making money hand over first wants to think negative. Gamestop was supposed to go to the moon as well, it's the nature of markets. I'm thinking something will happen in the next 2 years. They're are multiple factors going on right now which are driving things and many of them will end at some point in the next year such as all the loans in forbearance. I work with a bankruptcy attorney and he's not getting a lot of business right now because no one's struggling. At some point in people don't realize this that forbearance is considered a loan modification which is going to destroy their ability to get a loan for several years. My wife confirmed this and is running into it right now as people are trying to change things up and hitting that wall. -
I picked up a huffy cruiser at Walmart. I love it the seat is for fat people, bikes very strong, handle bars sweep back a bit so I can sit very comfortable. It fits me perfect at 5'7" and 200lbs. Only downside is it's a single speed but it's flat here so no problem. When I ride on the beach I air down to 3-4psi and it would be nice to have a lower gear on the sand but it was $50. I like the bike so much I'll probably add another speed or regear it eventually.
