    Hola

Nice, now I know at least one person who's actually won the big prize that wasn't cash. I'll be entering drawings for life now, thanks.
  2. The military vehicle market proves that any thing is possible and it will be up to who was attracted to the vehicle when it was for sale. As everyone else has said, custom or unique vehicles can't really be valued except to the point of what someone would pay at that moment and that will depend on the person. This is assuming the said vehicle is in near 100% working order and legal for use to some degree.
  3. The lexus is nice. Now I want it.
  4. I'd go with a Grand Cherokee. Very comfy to drive since when they were new they were high end for Chrysler. The I-6 is a great engine, I have one with 250K on it that I'd trust to go on any trip. Sadly the trans/transfer case is out and I am moving to better gas mileage or I'd keep it going. I put almost 200K of those miles on it for work. If your interest in replacing the bad parts I'll sell it to you for more than I can get at the junkyard. PM if interested. Weaknesses, expect poor gas mileage compared to other alternatives. 17-20mpg They do have a lot of the stupid Chrysler electrical problems, ie random gauges will go screwy or lights will flash.
  5. If their is any bubble at this point in our economy it is being caused by extremely low interest rates which I saw are starting to rise and that is actually a good sign.
  6. Ha 70%, during the year 1929 margin was being leveraged at a rate of 10 to 1, now that was a bubble. I use margin all the time, but I wouldn't hold anything overnight using margin unless it was something very obvious.
  7. Really awesome and very good activity for kids.

I watched the originals decades ago. Maybe I'll try the new ones sometime, but haven't liked what I've seen of them so far.

I watch all the star treks on netflix constantly, wish they would stream Babylon 5 as well. It was really a good sci fi drama.
  10. I'd day trade it, not quite enough to make a full time living out of it, but I could grow it very fast. Nothing long term so you don't get hit with large risk. Otherwise as has already been said, very aggressive growth funds and keep it that way.
  11. This, printers are my business and I would never have another ink jet unless it was a seriously high end model and I printed a lot of large color photos or something. Otherwise ink printers are a money pit. The small "home office" sized printers by HP, and Brother are great for light printing duty. If your going to be printing no more than a couple dozen pages or less a month. If your printing more than a few hundred pages a month than step up to a small - mid sized HP and you'll have it for decades (yeah I work on printers all the time that are 15-20 yrs old which just need simple maintenance.) Any other questions I'll gladly help out. You could also contact my company if you wanted to see if they have any good prices on used laser printers, you never know what we might be getting ready to sell off to our wholesaler.

I've never been a fan of fast and maneuverable. I've always liked huge and slow with lots of room for gadgets, utility, and storage. Guess that's why I'm a truck guy.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if her suit got thrown out of court. She'd have to prove damages somehow by YOU working on YOUR CAR, in YOUR GARAGE and right now it sounds like she is trying to sue the HOA because she doesn't like that she misunderstood the HOA rules. So in suing you she will complain that she doesn't like the HOA rules and that you shouldn't be allowed to work on your car in your garage. Yeah, thats gonna go real well for her.
  14. This, I wish I would have joined. So far I've put in +15yrs in private sector and it can't be any worse than a military job. I just didn't think about it when I was younger.

Haha, if my brother ends up going along I think I'll just forget about sailing since I know that would be the outcome.

I've done a little reading on boat rental companies sites around Nags Head and they do a 2 hr instruction prior to sending you off. I was wondering if taking the instruction, then going off and actually returning was something a beginner could even manage. I'll say I've never done it, but I've always been interested and "think" I could figure it out pretty quickly. I guess maybe we'll see. Might be a really entertaining story to come out of it.

I had a buddy at work who used to sail on buckeye lake on a friends boat so I've heard how cheap it can be. As anyone who's seen my trucks knows, I have a hard time keeping things small;-) and if I moved to the ocean I'd probably be shopping for a ship.
  19. My brother in law is a welder and used to build those towers. He does boiler maker stuff now.
  20. Unless I just want to buy new rotors I use an angle grinder on them, works just fine.

I always wanted to give sailing a try, but even though I grew up along the Ohio River we didn't really see sailboats around much. Then I moved up to Central Ohio and found lots of sailboats. I'm guessing it can actually be done here. Is getting a cheap small sailboat to play around and learn a bit worth it here? I'm going to the Nags Head, NC area this summer and plan on doing a sailboat rental for at least a few hours since my Dad will also be going and he's always wanted to do it as well.
  22. It sounds like she has several issues you don't like so find a new sitter. I wouldn't see a problem leaving a baby with a teenage girl that I knew could handle it, a boy would have to be special to handle a baby, but I know lots of very capable teenage girls and they have watched my babies on many occasions.
  23. Doing your own research is key to investing and IMHO should be as important as any other part of a persons life. Especially since it could determine how you live a significant portion of it.
