You are correct.

A modified alternator can do what you want but not at an idle. My modded 70amp GM alternator puts out 110v at around 2200RPMs.

I'd drag a graduated filter across the sky down to the dam to give the sky an "apocalyptic" look. Its about all you can do on a day like this other than what you did already.

If you shot in RAW mode you can always bring that sky down a bit to make it look interesting.

Knife charges usually end up falling under city/local ordinances and those change every few miles. Open Carry is legal in Ohio via "not being illegal or mentioned in the ORC." This creates the mentioned "grey" area for law enforcement. They can attempt to charge you with a couple different things, but a good lawyer can get the charges dropped unless you did something really stupid. I conceal and open carry all the time. I mostly open carry if I'm with the wife and kids which reduces my threatening appearance;-) Most of the places I go allow open carry as a corporate policy and the greater columbus area police depts are pretty friendly about it. You run into trouble when you get a hick cop or town like cleveland heights, which is still bent out of shape over their gun ban being removed by the ohio supreme court.

I was kinda surprised to see you say 60 per hour. Thats typically only predicted for the persieds shower. the orionids isn't a well known shower and most charts put it at <> 20 per hour. It takes 6 per hour to be considered a shower FYI.

Only thing you can do in ohio is, don't drink. They go over this in the gun forums all the time. If you do and you get pulled over your getting a lot of charges and a lot of pain that probably isn't worth it. Shouldn't be drinking and driving anyway.

12 is plenty old to have a gun. They just need to understand safety very well. Of course it will totally depend on the parents and child.

Bring on the snow. Not sure how it will effect winter, but scientists where just talking about el nino not developing. It started to and then reversed and they haven't seen that happen yet so aren't sure what to expect as a result. If its gonna be crappy out I want snow measured in yards;-)

I have a Bushnell on the other end of the spectrum, a Banner series 6x24 mil dot and it works fine for my use. The only complaint I have about it is that its a little hard to look through at high magnification 24x due to having to hold your eye in exactly the right spot. I only use that range for spotting anyway and by the time your back to 12x it works fine.

I dont want anyone messing with my investment tax rate. I spend more than 40hrs per week to make my investment gains so it is work. Sure to me it's fun work, but many others lack the ability to do it.

Yes, I think the m101 had a smaller pintel, surge brakes, and is rated 3/4 ton.
