  1. WOW. About any P&S camera is great these days. The big thing would be good optical zoom rather than digital zoom. Digital zoom will cut image quality due to the digital enlarging process. Next I'd look for one that functions the way you like. If you used to the Nikon menu system then stay with Nikon and it will be easier to pick up a new model and know what your doing.
  2. Post count in the twenties and most if not all in this thread. Im thinking we've found the epic troll. Or just another 17yr old that has a lot of learning and earning to do.
  3. Just don't get audited, ever. and don't track anything or you'll have to show that you used the materials for a job or are stocking an inventory. Also not sure when but the health care bill had provisions to require all companies to have 1099 forms for all vendor to vendor transactions.i think that might start jan 1st and if it does then home depot will be making you and the irs a 1099 copy and your screwed.
  4. You don't know how someone would be taxed more than 35%??? Start your own business and count 50-80% as your new tax bracket my friend. Of course the one and really good way of dealing with that tax problem is buying things to write off as expenses, reducing your income.
  5. I hate Nancy Pelosi for officially killing the Rickroll http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Nancy_Pelosi
  6. Photoshop seems to have been used primarily to bring up the shadow detail in this one. Probably looks like it did in person. To bad he didnt switch to bracketing mode and get some frames for HDR processing.
  7. That was funny, would have been cool if we felt it. Must not work on sand or you'd think we would have considering the little ones we feel around here from time to time.
  8. If I saw that heading my way I'd go hide, after changing my shorts.
  9. Can I talk to you about quoting you for my photography business:-) Wish more people would believe us when we tell people it all goes by so fast you'll want good photos in a high quality album to keep the memories.
  10. I can tap on map locations to set way-points on my droid x's gps app, but I don't know that you can do it by entering addresses. I go from point A - B - C... all day too, but not in fast enough order to need them set as a route. The good GPS systems, megallen, garmin, lowrance should be able to do it. I have no clue about the cheapies.

    DVD Rip

Just one set of full resolution jpegs and a folder with internet ready jpgs. the internet ready folder is a very small < 50mb typically. I'm upgrading my primary camera to a 5DmkII in a few weeks so I'm going to have to rethink what I give clients. 21Mpix is gonna be hell on the storage space. I'm thinking I might start giving jpegs with max res set for 8x10 or 11x14 photos.
  12. ah nice, then I won't look much further into google TV. Though I read that they are supposed to be releasing open source for their programs by summer. Don't know what that will change.
  13. My wife still watches network tv and directv, but myself I've completely switched to watching TV on the net. Of course I don't watch much just star trek and other things of that type that I can find by googling. We are talking about canceling directv after this year and going to google TV or just a media center PC or something. I do intend to go to a store and see what google TV is all about. My big question is can my wife figure it out or we have guests stay with us a lot that might have trouble.
  14. Yeah, I bet it would get some attention from creepy liberal chicks. It would also be very funny.
  15. Sure, just wish it would happen more often. This one was a cruise so we had about 30minutes on the beach before we had to get back which was kinda sad. So much potential for cool shots there.
  16. I did a wedding in the Bahama's last January during the earthquake... So I was talking to the brides father a few weeks ago and he mentioned he had a photo from the time of the earthquake... I was bored tonight so I took a look at their archive DVD and found one from the exact moment Jan 12th, 2010 4:53:10p This file doesn't have the time on it because it was an export from LR, but I have the RAW file still. Though it was kinda interesting since all we needed was a tsunami and about 45 of us at a wedding wouldn't be here. I didn't even know about the event until about 10pm that night when I was letting my 1.5yr old daughter walk around the cafeteria and noticed the news was more exciting the usual. Then I kinda got a sick "oh wow we could have been dead" feeling. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f185/EWhytsell/IMG_5153.jpg

    DVD Rip

can't wait till bluray is common enough to give disks to my clients. DVD is starting to become so small I can't get a set of wedding photos on one disk.
  18. Really nice. I aways want to shoot in fog but I hate mornings so I just look at it on the drive to work.
  19. If its the steering shaft to the steering arm joint then the arm is likely cast material so be careful.

    Bummer

This pretty much how I feel about news. I try to not even listen to it because its always senseless bad news. I've always felt the world would be better if we didn't hear about this stuff constantly. A good example is that creep that is in columbus collecting "boys urine" to fullfill some type of crazy fetish of his. Do we really need this on the 6:00 news for our kids to hear and have to process. Lol come on I'm 32 and I'm having trouble processing it, wow.
  21. Read the trailer towing thread in this section.we've been taking about new laws about this for the last two weeks. Short answer is yes though.
  22. This, I've done very well with my investments all through this recession and the last one. Though I don't invest, I swing trade.
