I am sure it has been done. Are you thinking of using it as a closed loop system, or just spraying the freon onto the intercooler? (hopefully #1) If you use it in closed loop, it will eat some horsepower, epecialy at higher rpms. Also, I wonder about ice build up on a heat exchanger. Probably not a problem when it is hot out, but a little cooler out or in the evening out when it is humid, could be a problem. Also, to be useable, it would almost always hafto be running the compressor, as it take a certian abount of time for the compressor to pump the freon to the point where ther is enough of a pressure differance that vapor phase changes can occour.
