  2. rattle or a tick? if a tick, check exhaust leaks if a rattle, coul be an exhaust hanger also: lose motor mount, under the extra power of > 50% throttle, the engine could be moving enough for the fan to hit the shrouding
  3. wow, a gm leaking oil..... you can try that dye for your oil and a uv lamp, that could help
  4. bushings if you have a grease gun, get under there and grease every fitting you can find

  12. oh ya, something else... what year? if it is still points syle ignition, there could be some oil in the bottom of the distributor wich vaporizez when it gets hot. This will cxause your points to stop working.
  13. carb spacer also, try a fuel filter/water seperator from jegs Permacool make one for about 30 bucks, works great for getting water and urine out of your gas. (yes, someone pissed in my gastank, hence why i put the damn thing on in the first place.)

  15. i have a timing light, leme know if you still need it. Also, make sure all those wires are in the right order. check it a few times, they are easy to overlook.

  18. using the methood of the spoke rum guys: the hub mounts to your original 5 stud setup. then the wheel fits on the new hub, splines need to line up, and then the wheel is hel on with a single nut ( on the wire spokes, the wingnut is beat on with a lead hammer, your aplication might be difrent)
  19. not sure on the law. mark might know As far as triping the light: most stoplights are magneticly activated (the mass of metal frame in a car creates a magnetic field that the sensor uner the pavement picks up. motorcycles lack in this large quanity of metal, and as such dont trip lights. i would assume that this device emils a magnetic field that will trip the light. on a side note, any mass of metal on earth emits a signature or patern as it passes through the earths magnetic field. The russians knew this, and aplied a countermasure to its destroyers in its naval fleet by placing magnetic coils in them to "erase" this signature, making them harder to find.

  21. fuck that, bigger is better. put a t4oe60 on it. spool times will suck, but that top end will be smokin ( your block, pistons, and everthing else)
  22. i have a timing light and a dwell meter if you wana convert over to points
  23. dont knock the engine. my dad has 240k on an 87, no smoke at startup. do check out the radiator, some of them had problems with the end resivors cracking.
