im going after my self. yep ill be lucky to make it to one race this season looks like ill be having fun at work working 7 days a week. we started the very first week of the yr with a 7 day week. so i challenge my self to a race. dont care where and what length.
just get a ls1 camaro high 20s highway and enjoy having a vehicle that can actually spin a tire, actually pick up chicks, and actually be fun.
if gas prices were 5.00 a gal. still wont help to buy a car that gets 35mpg. ur spending more than ur saving. no new car is going to have a payment less than 3000 in a yr.
for a motor to be align honed, decked, bored and tq plate honed, w lifter bores honed, and splayed caps installed. its about 800-1000 normal. the dart block is well worth the extra couple hun. the motor i have is a 4 bolt motor
i have the whole motor that came out of the blazer just rebuilt it and put about 500 miles on it before i went to the old nos motor with roller cam.
its a stock bore 010. i had the crank polished still stock bearings, rods are gm x rods and they are reconned, the pistons are speed pro hyper 12.5:1 motor is decked to a true 9.00 in. and i got the ported double hump heads that go with it. if your just looking for something that runs well and can support about 150 shot. it will work great. but if u need more ud proably be better off getting a dart sportsman block. i paid 1100 for mine. but all it needs is a final hone, if u run stock bore and can make a 383 with no block work. plus its priority main oiling. leaps and bounds better than my 8.90s stock block 010 block.
daym so if i did glass doors, nose and striped it add cage and big power. proably roll in at 2700 lb and about 1000 hp. wonder what it would run with a t56 and 3.5" gear.
id enter the s10 with 3.50 gear and some stiffer springs, with street tires,
and the camaro. i know the s10 runs 150s 1/4 id imagine i could go at least to 170s. wich is stupid fast for that big aerodynamic brick wall.
the camaro would be cool. if it was soon id like to try it with it stock.
isint a sportline the stiffest eibach spring????
hows that working for you does it 60ft at all.
on every third gen ive ever delt with we use v6 springs and 60 ft 1.39-1.32 range on small tires.
u think if i kept the thrid gen did a turbo setup kinda similar to the s10 and a t56 i could get it to go 200? i need some rules for it. and cage rules. ive wanted to do this my whole life. and im not getting any younger.
u ever see dave fryburgs land speed car the white one. damn thing is quick as hell.
213 im not shure if its his but thats good for salt. i think its evan went faster since.
see thats why i build my own tranys motors rears, chassis if someting breaks or cant hold the power im making its my fault. so i get to kick my own ass. !! and i dont have to wait for 15 other cars to get done first. although with 3 builds at one time and a 1 car garage it feels that way.
now i just got to get motivated to install this damn anti roll bar and 4.11 gr. and get the engine out so i can swap internals to new dart block.!!! i cant wait to feel more boost. i think i may get a chisseld performace intercooler and get rid of the small one i have now. id really like to put the new cooler in the bed. so i can keep both seats for me and a passanger.!!!! marion is cool like that. ill be giving test rides in the 8s for 50 bucks a pass, also have to sign a waver.
yea ive talked to a few f body owners and they seemd to like it better close to stock. said it was a funner car to drive. i think evan sam did when he swaped his vette from wild back to stock.
