and whys that. cause i know how to build things?
-
its all in the tune. the stock 2 bolt blocks are a stronger main web but without going to 4 bolt splayed caps u wont really get to take advantage of that. use arp and w 2 bolt caps i wouldnt get scared at 500. 600 id worry about them walking and killing bearings, id recomend king bearings for ur build over reg tri metal ones.
-
i read that book. was amazing how simple a plan he had.
-
what heads do you have? could proably use some small port work. sounds like a good build i dont think the cam u picked is too large for a 383 at all. sound small to me but i like to spin them. if ur crank is cast u can make more than 500 hp. but you need a good tune. keep away from detonation and u should be good on up. most of your sportsman circle track classes require cast cranks and they are well over 500 hp.

yea i know cause its so easy for everyone else to make a 8 sec truck in their garage without outside help. just imagine what i could do if i wanted to waste money or had sponsors for a car. proably skip a 7 sec car and go straight to 6s. in my own garage!

id take the camaro!
-
no it seems to take more posts for you to understand your a idiot. and yes i do build my engines, transmissions, rearends, chassis, cages, parachute mounts, paint and body work, and everything else in my garage. must be doing something right. huh

Hey all- not sure how this got off topic- I love my vette and hopefully will never sell it- it is too well engineered to mess with- I just miss wrenching on cars and have spoken with matt numerous times on building an extreme straight line car as I know I will never piece together something to all around perform as well as my Z- I have been at this long enough to understand the compromises involved and to see what Matt has done with his S10 is quite elegant. I do have inclinations towards domestic as they are much cheaper to make fast with twice the cylinders and sometimes 3 times the displacement it is a no brainer. A computer tune for our old RSX-S would have cost more than half of a supercharger for my 5.0 or almost as much as the aluminum trickflow h/c/i setup I put on it. That said I do have an open mind and have gathered a lot of valuable information in this thread. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- maybe u need to read this post by the thread starter. i already knew what about he was wanting to do before he started the thread.' and the ls1 was just a commong topic. i have no problem making power with a stock 1 gen block. but cant wait to get the dart block done so i can finally up the boost.

neither your not worth my time!!!!! lol

evan a gen one motor has crank wodruff keys to keep the pulley from spinning and backing the bolt out. and they make a lot less power stock well most of them do. b when i get the ati im pinning mine.! one less thing to worry about. and balancer bolts are tty so why would anyone reuse them.

just sell me the speakers throw the box away. i only need speakers? if not its ok ill get new ones

s10 stays in the garage. so cover it is for camaro. theres a lot more in the s10 so its ok for the maro to sit outside. once i get a place with a 2 3 or 4 car garage it will stay in it. it will get a underdrive crank pulley and ill pin it. would love the intercooler but hoping to keep it mostly stock. dont really have a need for 3 fast cars. cant afford the 2 i already got!

-
and i have this new 33x 12x 3.5 intercooler for the camaro too. w bov v band welded to it. i paid a lot for it.

id personally like to see you in something turboed. i can get 76mm turbo for 559. wich can make all the power ur looking for and spool quick. my 88 spools fast as crap. here is the dyno first with single pump, single needel seat bowls, and way lean 12.2 on a gas scale watch how it comes into boost. and remember this motor is 8.4:1 wich is low for a e85 v8. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d71/Mattsv8_03/dynoofs10.jpg for some reason the wg was sticking at 15lbs, only had a 9 lb spring. but for what it is and this being a very early dyno. i think it spools the 88mm fine and i could make the 76mm insane driver and et. for not a lot of mula. wich is how i build all my stuff. i was running low 9s on that exact tune. its wayyy better now.

s10 - changing feed line from the 2 a100s from -10 to -12. going up from the -8 ret to the -10. hoping to get more fuel to motor, drilling powervalve channels till i can get the tune to a consistant 7.3 7.4 on pump e85. getting dart block machined so i can swap internals and be able finally to run more than 15lbs on the stock block. hoping to run arround 22-25lbs oh yea should be fun. looking at water/meth kits on yellowbullett may add one of these. my cert is only good to 8.50s and dont plan on ever adding a funny car cage so fun runs will be limited. s10 blazer - swap from jegs junk rocker studs, snaped one within 50 miles of brand new. got some arps for it now. gona get a quick fuel e85 950. add the big shot nos kit jetted for ??? something in the 3 digit power level, gona get a 9" rear with my 3.70 gear, have the carrier gear now need the spool and have to get 35 spline axles, and either the et streets, et drags or drag radials in the basement. lol new stronger drive shaft, a trans brake for the th400 will be a hipsters since ive already installed one before. and caltracks with reg monroe shocks or rancho off road shocks depending on how stiff it needs to be to hook. looking for mid 10s with it this yr. 2 10s ported box and either the kicker 750.1 amp or power k amp, also getting the memphis m7s doors and back with my rockford 400x4 amp. and alarm. 89 camaro - either will sit more or get parted out or sold to fund headers and exh for the 2001 camaro 2001 camaro - kooks long tubes, ofypipe, magnaflow exh, air lid, bellows and drive it may get the windows tinted. 97 yukon - a wash and wax, maybe a paint job. new rear leafs dont like the add a leafs from skyjacker they look bad. new rear shocks. and maybe some 15s and my kicker 750.1 amp. 2001 - tahoe will get 4 new little larger tires, maybe a 3" lift, the front bumper fixed, a wash and wax, proably my old 10s and infinity amp out of the yukon. and me ill stay broke since i got way too many toys!!!!!
