  1. Apparently there is an RC shop on Gender Rd that just opened a new offroad track, and they are working on an indoor carpet track for on-road cars. http://www.enhobbies.com/
  2. 2.5 has a cast alum cooling head, 2.5R has machined/blue anodized head. 3.3 is also a drop-in. I think it uses the same block, different crank, sleeve, piston and head. All you'd have to change on the car is gearing to take advantage of the torque, and maybe the pipe to get the most out of the motor.
  3. .25ci, or 2.5cc? Cause if you have a .25ci motor in there, I can definitely see why it's broken so often, lol.
  4. That's not the dump. That's the old Inland Products plant, I think it's called Sanimax now. They process animal carcasses into industrial chemicals. The smell is the storage pit.
  5. That's the 4Tec, right? Just remember that when you replace plastic with aluminum, the force just gets transferred to the next part. Better to bust an arm than a bulkhead. It's a bigger concern for larger offroad cars, I guess. Check out http://www.hpisavageforum.com. There are about five in the for sale section now. Best way to go is to get a roller and buy your own motor. Any good .28 will push a Savage to crazy speeds.
  6. Like Keith said, $300 will get you a decent SCT set-up. What he didn't say is what that means. SCT=Short Course Truck. Basically, SCTs look like CORR trucks. The most common one is the Traxxas Slash 2WD, but a few other companies have brought their own versions out. The HPI Blitz is brand new on the market, and is probably the best offering yet. http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/103171/ You can pick up a new Blitz for $190, a pair of NiMH batteries and a charger, and still come in under $300. Or you can spend a bit more, get some Lithium Polymer batteries, and step up the run time and power by a bit. If you want to step right into nitro, and want to keep costs down, look for a used HPI Savage. They're insanely tough, relatively easy to work on, and the upgrade market is the biggest of any RC. Brushless electrics are the new wave with RC, but they are probably best left for a second or third RC, once you have some driving experience. The faster brushless set-ups have enough power to cause serious havoc.
  7. Cheap rent, no houses nearby, large building, good parking, close to the freeway, and heavily patrolled(I've never made it from Frebis to Livingston without seeing at least three cruisers, and there's usually one sitting right next door.). Yeah, it's not a great neighborhood, but that building would be easy to make very secure, and six cameras could cover every inch of pavement and all entrances on the building.
  8. Wagner and Keith, those are some great paint jobs. Wish I had that kind of talent/patience. I spend too much time on my lid to spend time on my lid, if you get my drift.
  9. Yeah, Traxxas are known for being great drivers, but a bit delicate. On the other hand, I have been thinking about picking up a Summit for a winter bashing truck, just because of the waterproofing. My buddy and I are thinking of doing an ice-racing track on his pond if it gets cold enough, long enough.
  10. Post some pics, would ya, ya bastids? lmao. As we speak, my truck is upside down on the table in front of me with it's asshole torn out so I can fix the rear diff. Fucking thing decided to bust a bevel gear and spider gear the day after I put an extended chassis on it, and now I can't find my fucking lithium grease. Brand new body, tried to fade from orange to black, but I got a lot of overspray that screwed up the blend. First time trying a multi-color paint job. http://gonneville.smugmug.com/Hobbies/My-RC/DSC00966/721417918_qt4jq-M.jpg http://gonneville.smugmug.com/Hobbies/My-RC/DSC00991/721423453_VsUog-M.jpg
  11. Wait, she gave you that kind of lip, and you STAYED? Fuck that. Walk out. If the food isn't on the table, it doesn't get paid for. Let the restaurant take the hit for having rude servers.
  12. Um, the hell with no tip, I would have told her to get her fucking manager out and caused as big a scene as I could on the way out the door. Bad service is one thing, outright rudeness is another. If you can't at least manage to be polite, you don't deserve to keep your job.
  13. Bad service=no tip. Period. I'll make allowances if the place is jumping and the waitress is visibly doing her best to keep up. A "mandatory tip" is not a tip, it's a fee.
  14. Yeah, security dude did good when he showed up, got the lamp or w/e away from him, then got clocked in the head with something. The guy who took him down off the desk was a cube drone, though. And yeah, he did get hit with a stun gun, not a Tazer.
  15. The Cummins motor is the only good thing about the Ram. Ever since they came out with the "fendered" looking trucks, they've been crap. The Hemi sucks dick as a truck motor, ask my Dad, who drive a Ram 2500 with a heavy utility bed for his job. His previous truck was a 96 or 97 GMC 2500 with a Vortec 350, and it was simply a better truck in every way. It hauled more weight, it accelerated and handled better with a full payload, it used less fuel even fully loaded, it was far less expensive to maintain, and it didn't have a speck of rust after 8 years of work on Ohio salted winter roads, in farm fields, at chemical plants, and other environments that are hardly good for the paint and metal of a truck. Not to mention that driving the last few gens of Ram feels like sitting in the bottom of a hot tub and trying to see over the sides. The seats sit far too low in relation to the dash and doors. Try driving offroad when your field of vision starts over thirty feet in front of the truck.
  16. It's a supercharged diesel V. Not the best choice for making real power. Most s/c diesels only make good power within a very narrow RPM band. A big inline 6 turbo-diesel is the way to go if you're looking for big power with a wide powerband. The Cummins ISX in my old truck made 475hp and a bit over 1300lb-ft in stock form. Dial up the boost or use a larger turbo, and 600/1500would be pretty easy.
  17. FUCK PETA! Their shelters have the WORST adoption rates of any in the country, and they euthanize almost every single animal that comes through their door! Their HEADQUARTERS shelter killed 2,124 out of 2,216 animals taken in. http://www.petakillsanimals.com/petakillsanimals.cfm http://www.newsweek.com/id/134549 Don't mistake me for another "no-kill" moron, I absolutely understand that a large majority of dogs and cats will never be placed in homes and that shelters are completely swamped by the numbers of abandoned pets. But for an organization like PETA, that goes apeshit over killing "sea kittens", to KILL 98.5% of the animals they take in is completely unacceptable. Bucket: parents rescued at campground Baron: Petland(only pet store cat EVER, wonderful cat, but Petland needs to BURNwith what I've learned in the years since we got him) Doc: Humane Society Mad Max: roadside find Doppelganger: found us Rime, Pretty Boy Floyd: inherited from Grandma, show-line cull rescue Rover, Gypsy, Mickey, Patches: rescued from my Mother's park Of them all, Bucket was the only one that had anything less than a stellar personality, and after what she went through before my parents found her(tiny, starved, near-dead, and terrified), I can't blame her at all for being a bitch. There's also a long line of cats that my Mother has rescued from the park she works at and placed with co-workers, volunteer workers, park Rangers, local teachers, and various friends. It's bittersweet though, looking at the number of cats she's rescued out of ONE park, and also thinking of the ones she hasn't been able to catch and the ones that simply don't make it after being dumped in the woods there.
  18. Google "sparkling wiggles".
  19. Actually, it's almost exactly the same. 11k pounds=$18,372
  20. Post pics of car and plate number, maybe someone will get lucky. Sorry to hear about it, Grove City isn't as "quiet" as you might think. Not to be a dick, but why the FUCK would you leave a spare key in the car?
  21. Salt water. Car is fucked. Engine, electronics, cloth, foam, leather, basically everything but the frame is totally fucked. Moron.
  22. The "HELL IS REAL" and the commandments one you mentioned are both on 71 South of Columbus, within about 1/4mile of each other. I used to pass them about four times a week.
  23. I was going to contribute to this thread, but seeing as how the whole thing smells like vaginal yeast right now, I'll save it for when it won't get stunk up.
  24. I don't bother with kids like that anymore. When shit starts heading down that road, I tell em to stop wasting my fucking time and do whatever to get rid of em. If it's a co-worker, I tell them not to talk to me unless it's work-related.
