  1. Abarth. I think he'd basically had all those cars in storage and wasn't driving them, wanted something he could have fun with on back roads out east.
  2. The first car that I could call my own was a 1959 Chevy Apache when I was 18. A couple reasons not to be as alarmed of the safety thing: - She will not be driving fast. it's impossible. My Apache topped out at 75 running wide open with a bored out 327 and 4 on the floor. Cruised around 50-55 all the time. - She will be visible. When I drove my truck, there wasn't a soul on the road who wasn't watching all 22 feet of turquoise and white beauty. - She will learn car control. The first time she thinks too much about the gas pedal in the rain, the wheels will spin and she will learn a lot of respect for cars. - It will get her used to good driving habits; easy in, easy out, easy on the brakes and throttle, no jerky movements ever. She will never consider NOT checking her blind spots especially if, like my truck, it has no side mirrors. PM me if you have additional questions about my experience, I'm glad to share. EDIT: expensive, but this is close enough to what I had http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/3871664697.html
  3. All stops were initiated by the Crown Vic marked cruiser. Then came 2 unmarked cars. Then the marked Tahoe was last.
  4. Guy traded that, a 95 vette, and Dale Sr. and Jr. Montes.
  5. Didn't get a good view, they were on the far side of the highway and thus everyone was standing on the other side of cars. Probably unshaven hippie chicks anyways. Then again, these are hippie chicks: debatably SFW...but probably not.
  6. They brought in more cars to try to be intimidating, never brought out a k9 that I saw, and sent them on their way. I think they're just trying to follow orders and perform as many searches as possible in the hopes of getting some drugs off the street, nothing wrong with that as long as they're not hyper aggressive and screwing with innocent people.
  7. ullBsorry, I'm not hating on cops performing searches. I'm actually curious what the search-to-seizure rate is in terms of how many searches you perform vs how often crimes are found to have been committed. I watched an 0-for-4 today, so I'm curious. For all I know the searches I saw were done with the blessing of the driver who was happy to comply with a search, since I never saw a K9. Plus this thread was started as a sort of "flashing your high beams" move. I'm guessing there's not a lot of drug traffickers on CR, so I'm just trying to let the community know what they might be in for on this particular stretch of highway.
  8. #4 got pulled over and looks like they're refusing a search. Scooby outback with a giant rooftop carrier. This'll be fun. Entertainment all day for me!
  9. When it comes to any bees other than honey bees (and with them being africanized, one can never be to careful), kill it with fire is generally a pretty safe method.
  10. Update #2: I just watched a marked crown vic, and an unmarked Fusion and Impala pull over a sketchy rape van. Walked back to my desk to type this, looked up and they were gone. I wonder if they got their guy and he took off... Not that I agree, but it has become par for the course that "not wanting cops tearing your car apart on the side of the highway" = criminal indicator.
  11. would not be surprised if someone squealed to try to reduce his sentence, especially if he's a known trafficker.
  12. Yeah I wish it was but 2 for 2 on cars getting strip searched only to be released half an hour later. Both of them loaded up with camping type gear; imagine that, there are plenty of innocent drivers who do outdoorsy stuff in the middle of July! What's bothersome is the number of troopers obviously in the area waiting to lend assistance. They probably have some intel on drug runners in the area using i70 but come on, you cant just say anyone with camping gear "fits the description".
  13. It sounds like the people who are going to suffer are the people who deserve to suffer least. However, in the long run this could work out for the city. There's so much property rotting away because despite the property being for sale for $100, there's $200k of unpaid property taxes. If that can be wiped clean (lets be honest, it'd never get paid anyways) it opens the door for a revival IF MANAGED PROPERLY (it won't be).
  14. Update: they let the dude out of the back of the police cruiser, and (surprisingly) helped him load up all his shit back into his car. goes to show just how accurate "criminal indicators" are. glad to see our tax dollars hard at work inconveniencing weekend campers. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn69/caxide/i70search.jpg EDIT: both the Avenger and the Fusion in that picture (far right and far left respectively) are undercover troppers; both were wearing plainclothes as well.
  15. Twice this morning since 9am I've watched a squad of marked and unmarked OSHP pull over cars and search them. No traffic stops, no speed trap, just pulled over a beat to shit old Cavalier and a Caliber and tear everything out of them. Both times it looks like people moving or possibly on road trips: house fans, coolers, luggage, tarps/rugs and bags that look like they could be tents. First car was released, they're not done with the 2nd. I'll see if I can snap a picture here in a minute. Either way, if you're camping or your car is loaded up, it would appear that they're targeting those types of vehicles so be safe!
  16. I hope anyone watching the steam sales picked up Deus Ex: HR for $3. Great game and a steal for that price.
  17. Sending this to my buddy who used to have Corrados and has been looking for one.
  18. I was referencing the copypasta you saw on the frontpage of reddit today, didn't bother trying to source the origin. CR is the new 9gag
  19. 404 funny not found please refresh the troll and try again. if issue persists, please place your head in a lit oven.
  20. This. When my parents lived here we took our dog there every time, super convenient to be able to drop her off before boarding our flight. And they are great people too.
  21. It's probably a long shot, but there is a thread right below yours with someone who looks like they know what they're doing. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113378
