  1. The alleged (I say this because I don't know, not because I doubt it, which I don't) reason is that he and is friend were walking in the middle of the street disrupting traffic. I've read nothing regarding how much traffic there was or wasnt, whether they were literally walking down the middle of the road vs side of the street. There is no firm evidence to indicate one way or another AFAIK. Correct. There is also zero evidence that you aren't holding someone hostage at gunpoint at this moment, but I'm sure you would appreciate the benefit of the doubt before the police bust into your house and shoot you between the eyes BEFORE figuring out whether or not you are armed and/or a danger to yourself and others. Which is exactly my point.
  2. The only evidence presented to support either side's cause are witness statements, which are the least reliable kind of evidence. Even if the victim was guilty of theft/shoplifting, that's usually a petty misdemeanor, on the same level as a speeding ticket. Menacing is a misdemeanor. I would say, yeah, that kid is innocent until proven guilty in court. I've been accused of, fought, and had overturned unjust misdemeanors I've been charged with because I was afforded my rights to due process. To try the victim in the court of public opinion and judge his innocence or guilt and the righteousness of his death without affording him the rights granted under the Constitution is pathetic.
  3. 5th, 6th and 7th amendments > karma. Considering your "don't tread on me" title I would think you'd be a bigger fan of the rights granted by the Constitution. Or maybe those don't apply to "thugs".
  4. Zero evidence whatsoever of that.
  5. Being accused of a crime does not negate your entitlement to due process, regardless of your actual innocence or guilt. Officer who shot Brown had no idea the person he was struggling with was a suspect.
  6. I've got the pro kit on my focus st. My coworker has the sportlines on his Abarth. I think the difference may be a SLIGHTLY greater drop with the sportlines. I like the pro kit, hasn't really affected my every day ride quality at all, just lowered the car about an inch and made it stiffer in corners.
  7. Dating vegan chicks is the best cuz they're always hungry
  8. I know a vegan who flipped out after having a sip of Honey Brown ale. He was distraught that his drink was created using bee labor. As if the bees would be taking vacations to fucking Jamaica if we hadn't enslaved them and forced them to make honey for our pleasure.
  9. You want to see a vegan's head explode, ask them how many mice/moles/etc get shredded limb from limb in a wheat thresher each harvest. Ask them how humane they think that is. Ask them how their organic bread tastes seasoned with the suffering of rodents.
  10. I don't think you have to be a treehugger to be against hunting. I'm no fan of it myself, but I don't condemn others who do it. It's just another economy in a part of the world that we Americans have basically been taught to feel bad for. When I was in Venezuela I stayed with a family whose patriarch was a big game hunter. His study was littered with animal skins, furniture made of taxidermied big game (elephant foot stools) and all kinds of heads on the wall. It was a lot to take in at first and he could sense it. He explained to me exactly how each of those animals was killed, and his son told me how much money had been spent to do it. It was over a million dollars, and nearly ALL of it didn't just go into the local economy, but was also diverted to conservation efforts. The animals he killed were either sick and quarantined or older and going to die soon anyways. That's basically how they run those big game hunts. Sure, an trophy on a wall may seem ridiculous and eccentric, but if the end result is a boon towards fending off poachers, is it ok? I believe so, but you're entitled to your opinion.
  11. I hope whoever buys those invests equally heavily in shares of tire manufacturers.
  12. Damn they make you work Labor Day? I'm in the car business to, we close for Labor day, Memorial day, July 4th, etc. I've never requested those days (the days you requested) off before but I'd never consider it, tends to be a really busy time for me. You're probably just gonna have to reschedule.
  13. Yeah it's pretty nonstop. It's an awesome time for sure, I still remember being up there when the PT Loser first came out and wondering what all these plastic pieces of shit were doing on the strip.
  14. Don't forget that a looooong time ago Richard Petty killed an 8 year old kid on a drag strip. Was not charged, though that was arguably a bit more of a freak accident. I don't think you can call this anything but a horribly unfortunate accident. Ward is dancing around the track obviously trying to get close, Stewart is driving a ridiculous race car on loose surface in the dark towards a guy wearing a black race suit.
  15. I'm sure it had something to do with the Hopslam fiasco.
  16. Gentile's at Northwest & King has great wine and beer.
  17. Every time one of these goddamn threads pops up:
  18. Yeah but it's a 2004 we're talking about, and E10/E15 is a far cry from E85.
  19. Mike is a fucking boss. Obviously I'm biased since I work for the same auto family. He does insanely good work for our store, has offered to help me out on my haggard Triumph on the cheap, and he runs a tight ship. Appreciate the good word!
  20. someone told me the head gasket issue (or some issue, but for some reason my mind says HG) was fixed/vastly improved after 2005? total hearsay
  21. Retains original VIN. A car's VIN cannot legally be changed. There's VIN markers on nearly every part of a car.
  22. Clifford Automotive, site sponsor.
  23. 1) Texting and driving with someone else's kid in the backseat? Girl doesn't have enough insurance to cover that shit. The insurance company could potentially claim she was using the car for a business purpose and reject the claim. Doubt it'll happen, but be prepared. 2) Was your car part of any of the 30+ million GM cars recalled for airbag deployment issues? 3) Impact speeds? I'm surprised your airbags didn't deploy, it seems like your impact was pretty much a textbook "small front overlap" crash (in NHTSA or IIHS terms, I never remember which). That's the one that nearly every car on the road is failing right now.
