  1. i'm all set, i'd probably ruin my game with those. great price for a starter set though.
  2. I'm interested, is there a model number on the Mizuno irons?
  3. was that the madreperla white or the matte white?
  4. I'm getting annoyed with the Launch Edition process, we're trying to figure out if Alfa has pre-sold them (like the did with the FIAT Prima Edizione) or if we'll be able to have our own customer list. I have a dozen people trying to throw money at me to get one and I can't take it in good faith.
  5. Launch Edition will be here in 2 months :megusta: Launch Edition will be around $70k, regular version will start around $54k if I'm not mistaken (I am sometimes mistaken).
  6. The non-Launch Edition 4C will be much more affordable (about $20k cheaper than Launch Edition), and IIRC will be here in Novemeber.
  7. you always have to put down the first month's payment at least, and there's occasionally a security deposit on top of that, but it doesn't matter either way. down payment on a lease is purely to lower monthly payment. you're not reducing the amount of interest paid, and you're only changing the equity position to benefit the lessor.
  8. ^^^ This is good advice. To expand a little: You never put money down on the lease because almost all leases (if not all) include gap insurance. If you total the car, that down payment is gone. If there's positive equity (there almost is never positive equity in a lease) it goes to the lessor. If there's negative equity it goes to the lessor. Gap insurance covers the negative equity, her down payment would only help the lessor. What she should do is keep that $2k in reserve and draw from that to comp the difference between her desired $170/mo payment, and whatever it ends up being. Additionally, advertised leases never include tax/fees, and almost always include "dealer participation" which means they're assuming the dealer will discount the car to a certain point. On what we call "first pencil" aka first writeup, they hit it at MSRP, which bumps the payment up. Also, residuals and money factors (aka interest) are different on different trim levels/transmissions. To figure out if the money factor is good, take the number (usually something like .0004) and multiply it by 2400, that's your interest rate. If she has good credit, they may be able to do a better money factor. In all likelihood, she won't find anything that is exactly at $170/mo even with $2k down after tax/fees, but it's possible. How many miles/year does she drive? EDIT: Leases are national programs, the dealers are lying to her. She sounds like an uninformed buyer, and they can probably tell so they're screwing with her. She needs to learn a bit more (not AOL or Yahoo! autos bullshit like "NEVER BRING YOUR TRADE", but about how leasing works) and she'll find she's having better experiences.
  9. If you talk to Liz, tell her Alex from 15-1687 sent you in. The apartments aren't as nice as the Quarry, but I've lived here for 4 years with no issues. The thing that gets you is there's about $190 in bills that include common electric, sewage, garbage, pest control, etc. The big thing in this is cable and internet, so the cable bill I get directly from TWC is only $40 BUT it pretty much means you're tied to TWC unless you want to pay for 2 services. PM me if you want to see my place sometime. It'd be an honest viewing instead of the idealistic approach you'll get from the leasing office.
  10. Don't do Quarry. I am the one in a million who has had a good experience living in a Connor Group property. Personally, I have lived at the Watermark for 4 years with 0 issues and I love the office management girls, but I know I am definitely in the minority. One big consideration: do you have pets? This will expand or limit your options immensely. I'm currently looking to move out of the Watermark with a small dog and a cat, and finding our options almost nonexistent. We have found a number of good-looking options in the Harrison West area (near Wheeler dog park) that are in the same price range. A friend of mine who is a leasing agent in Dublin suggested I look at abodo.com, and I've found that it's a very useful site. Definitely more so than trulia or zillow. Additionally, metro-rentals.com is a great source.
  11. This in no way is guaranteed to work, but if your car is still under warranty I'd take it up with Ford customer service. The Focus ST with Tangerine Scream cloth inserts is notorious for denim ruboff and a few owners have gotten new seat covers as a result. Like I said, no guarantee but it's worth taking it up the chain.
  12. I dunno, I really like the sound of your gf screaming my name.
  13. Jaysus that's nuts, good to hear everyone's ok.
  14. Good to see admins raising the bar :dumb: at least I posed a question, furthering debate, rather than a literal jerkoff response.
  15. thoughtful, cogent response. well done
  16. If that's the best you've ever had, is it safe to assume that Cinci is the farthest south in the US you've ever traveled?
  17. Ray Ray's is the answer, there is no competition.
  18. Kitchen ain't what it used to be
  19. I imagine mining bitcoin ass-to-mouth is probably a shitty return on investment.
  20. More often than not, a $2500 American SUV will do the opposite of allowing you to save. It's just gonna be a money pit. In this price range, Mick Jagger said it well. "You can't always get what you want." Get a wagon.
  21. First off, congrats. A post-secondary education is a great thing if you know how to do it. 1) As was said before, go to all your classes. Participate. That is the ONLY way you will get anything out of them. IMO college is 1/3 about learning the actual material, 2/3 about learning how to learn. More on this in a minute. 2) Don't take easy classes. Waste of time. Challenge yourself. Your GPA might be lower, but I've been asked about my GPA exactly 0 times since college. The skills you pick up by challenging yourself will be far more useful than a good GPA. 3) Office hours. You MUST take advantage of professors' office hours. You will probably learn 3x more in 30 minutes at office hours than you will in a week's classes. Not going to office hours is like having a job but actively avoiding your boss. Professors will write you recommendations, invite you to events, and generally are your best resource for job hunting. How do I know this? I never went to office hours and college was infinitely harder for me than others. 4) Getting back to point #1, you're not just going to learn facts. You're going to learn how the world operates. Military teaches you a lot, but you need to learn how to work with people who have no idea how to relate to you (and vice versa). 5) Take a class you think you'll hate. You'll surprise yourself. I took a religion course (I am not atheist, just agnostic, I don't give 2 shits about religion) that turned out to be not only my favorite class, but my favorite professor. Only professor I actually went to office hours for. 6) Read stuff independently. If you have an interest in history and the military, anything by Andrew Bacevich. He was a professor of mine (Boston U) and he is a fucking genius. 7) At the end of the day, you're not just there to learn. You're there to experience college. Meet new people, don't just treat it like a job. I'm not sure if CSCC has student groups like 4-yr colleges do, but get involved if you can. Take in as much of the experience as possible. 2 thoughts as well: You will get a great education anywhere you go as long as you're committed to it. So find somewhere you want to be and go there. If you really want to be in San Diego, don't just go to OSU and look for a job out in CA. Go to fucking SDSU or something. And lastly, "The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently." - Nietzsche. You'll learn more from people whose opinions you dislike than the opposite, so seek those types of environments.
  22. That's a damn steal for those seats. I'm half tempted to skip a wedding for it; except that I'm the officiant.
  23. Gm 4 was epic. If you have the chance to go, go. No question.
