  1. "Imagine being able to rewind a person's memory like a movie and erase a single incident." Women have been doing that for centuries. Please tell me they have more to go on then just rat tests....? What you posted shows that it erased the memory of that event, but how do they know it was limited to that? Supposed it erases all of your painful memories? Those memoories, as well as the good one, are what make us who we are, only in the most extreme cases should they be tampered with. Even then, you really really don't want to trust an experimental drug. Their claim is seriously way off base considering what little data they have, and it's wrong to publish such a claim.
  2. Let me explain that sentence with one word: Papa, i.e. I am one. Hell, I've seen herds of deer grazing inside the cloverleafs of I-270 ramps, I'm damn sure not taking any chances off the highway. No way, 9.8~ seconds @ 140mph is quick and fast?!? I know how fast liter bikes can be, I just assumed (prayed) that no one on here would dip into that power without alot of room.
  3. Race? Yes Road race? Yes Massive exposure to the sport of competitive riding? Yes Nerdy knowlege of physics, especially as it pertains to motorsport? Yes Ride? No. When buying a race vehicle, I had a choice between 4 wheels and 2, the car was a better deal. I own a trail bike, it's got about 1hp, but over 150lb of torque. Eriks post was better. We are not in Brittain, and we're not in Kansas either. We've got bends 'round here. I choose vehicles by how I'll use them. When I was shopping for a bike, I realized I wouldn't be doing 160mph a whole lot. I'd spend time either in traffic, or riding recreationaly. Rare would be the opportunitiy to open it up on a highway, so I cared very little for it. My ideal bike would be an ol' Monster 750, with a Tuono 1000 R a close second. So, you can see that maybe I'm a bit biased toward this kind of bike. Actually, I'll trade my thirsty race car for a Moster 750, straight up. Gas is expensive and the Jag gets 15mpg down hill.
  4. If the money is there, I do not care. I need to pay rent, pay tuition, and buy diapers. Gimme $40k a year and I'll do almost anything. QA is about the only feild where I'm worth that much cash....on paper anyways. I can do anything.
  5. And there we see your difference in perception. In Brittain "The Track" is not a drag strip, it is a road course. Excuse me Mr. Capirossi. On a road course, most people are good enough riders not to need HP to pass. Why do you think Moto GP bikes tend to only have around 200hp? Do you think the engineers can't get more? If Jordan can get 800+hp out of 2 liters, I'd think Ducatti could get 400 out of 1. F1 engine technology is actually kifed from motorcyle engines. This speaks volumes about what manner of rider you are. Your critique of this bike is based on the fact that you can't use it for your straight line/stunt sillyness. Some people lap their bikes, some people prefer Deals Gap to I-270, not everyone is amused by a straight line. That is the market.
  6. I'm thinking of dropping of a resume there. I'm kind of strafing the country side, trying to stay in the area. Everyone needs QA!
  7. What was that early WWII French automatic rifle that got more soldiers killed then actually did killin'?......
  8. Or had their owner as a professor? Just curious about the company, seems like an interesting outfit.
  9. What Mikehaze said x730732098. Ad to that a wait period. You don't need a gun "now". If you do think that you need a gun "NOW", then you probably shouldn't have one. If the best you can afford is a highpoint, you probably need to be robbin some bitches.
  10. Each costs 5 million to build in production. The total investment in the Veyron development program was over half a billion dollars, give or take. Here is my contender. One seater badassedness. Will add vents and wings as needed, this is just rough. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/5112/untitledbd8.png
  11. It will fail, both as a supercar and as a 270mph car. It's drag coefficient is going to be very high (comparably speaking), meaning with will be calling on all 1180hp to push it over the top. I see rampent engine failures. You can get that speed with less hp, you can't solve the top end # problem by merely ripping off the Diablo and stuffing more HP into it. The faster you go, the more your aerodynamic flaws hurt you. This thing will have a thousand pounds tugging at its ass from that low preasure bubble alone.
  12. Comes off as a nationalistic Japanese leader with a racial superiority complex....what historical figure shared those traits? http://www.ville-ge.ch/musinfo/mhng/hydrozoa/history/hirohito.jpg The guy is funny, though.
  13. Cut'n'run OMG! At least your tranny didn't take it's leave like mine did. Once again, I apologize to everyone I sprayed with fluid. Get a racing tranny, you wont regret it.
  14. I didn't say it was irrelevant. You brought up context, and times were much different back then. There is a reason that they designed the Constitution to be amendable. They recognized that their rules would not always make sense. Dont need, don't want. Although, I have been to a range or two and will acknowlege that it's a good time.
  15. "...in the context of those who wrote it..." Those quotes of yours are 200 years old. However, I realy like this one, which sums up my real stance (not my internet arguing stance) on fire arms: Psycology didn't exist back then, it does now. Ones record is not an indicator of what they will do in the future. Gun ownership should not be easy, and to get one you must submit to a mental evaluation. Park Ranger, Huron Manistee Nat'l forest. Guns shouldn't be banned, they should just be harder to get. "If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy" - James Madison
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1dv_y_3EK0&mode=related&search= I love how the sole purpose of its trip was to see if it'd fit in out airports.
  17. Some folks here have spent time in labs et al, has anyone used any of their sniffers? They make Gas Chromatographs and other such things.
  18. It's a machine, not a suppository. And what a machine it is.......
  19. Ell Oh Ell! You just proved my point and contradicted yourself. Those are all two parts of one idea, each pertaining to the other. One sentence, one idea. "I like toast, but not without butter" does not mean that I like to eat butter on it's own. That would be "I like toast. I love to eat butter." Just like you said, I will make it easy for you: Having finished the test, he left the room.(Leaving the room was contingent on finishing the test) To get a seat, you'd better come early.(Getting the seat is contingent on early arival) The sun radiating intense heat, we sought shelter in the cafe.(needing shelter as a result of the suns heat) A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. (The right to bear arms shall not be infringed, because of the need for the populous to defend the free state). If the need for the general population's help in defending the free state dissapears (like, ohh, I dunno, The Militia Act of 1903 organizes the state militias into the National Guard system), then the need for the people to bear arms also disapears. What you want Amend-2 to say is "A well regulated militia is necessary to the security of a free State. The right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Imagine if your interpretation of laws applied across the board: "Tresspassing without your permission is forbidden, you are permitted to beat the hell out of people that do it." OMG I'm alowed to beat people everywhere?
  20. It's real simple Rick; I dont want the asshat that hits me to fly through his windsheild and kill me. Personal choice my ass, that 200lb of meat is an unsecured load and should be regulated. What damage does a stationary deer do when you hit it? Double the force and you'll see what a moron does when he flies through his windsheild into yours. "Personal choice" goes away when your descisions effect other people. Smoking as an example? I have a right to clean air, you don't have a right to abuse drugs, true story. Smoke on your property, drive you vehicles without seatbelts on your property. But when you hit our roads, buckle up.
  21. In English (which is what these men spoke) periods separated thoughts, not commas. Damned public skools. RE; Shays rebellion. It wasn't a military loss. Also, read the events leading up to it and the motivations of him and his "rebel army". He was a patriot, which is probably why he was pardoned so quickly.
  22. Bull shit.......you didn't have any friends in Jr High.
