  3. Nahhh just because I drive a subaru doesn't mean I give a damn about OBDII.
  4. Didn't really have a plan to replace the post-cat o2. Good to know there's an option that won't throw a CEL, though!
  5. Well... look under an H6. I think I'm going to end up mimicking that pretty closely, the gaps I'm following were made for their plates.... no cats though. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=96095&d=1296872687
  6. Proof that a Porsche flat engine can be made to sound better... but never good. Maybe Stuttgart made it quiet for a reason.
  7. I hate wiring... I didn't say "I don't like it", I said I hate it. Honestly, I'm looking at serviceability. I want changing things to go smoothly.
  8. A) won't fit, I have no turbo and my car is longer. B) you underestimate how cheaply I can do an exhaust. I plan on getting a readily available extension harness. I hate wiring, no way I'm trying to splice anything.
  9. That's reassuring... though I should mention that the move will be from 18" to 24". No cats will be between the cylinders and O2.
  10. So, it's exhaust time on the Subaru. Nothing special needed, just replacing the 10 year old, 150k system with something that doesn't leak. I'm not buying any pre-made shit, too much money for too little value. I'll be making one. It will be easier to produce with longer down tubes that come together in a Y behind the trans. Right now, they come together in front of the trans, and that is where the O2 is. Will moving the O2 to a slightly cooler spot, possibly with more internal volume, confuse the computer? 2002 Outback 2.5 SOHC N/A.
  11. Go with the first design. The actual volume is greater (that 4pc welded cross section has less area), and the equalization of the pressure is all you want for sound. The second system is inefficiently produced for ridiculous cost, intended for buyers with more money than brains. It will likely have more ground clearance than option 1, though, so if you're draggin ass that may be a consideration.
  12. I'd do the same if I was on a talk show: http://chzgifs.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/funny-gifs-the-news-stinks.gif
  13. Too much money.... I know that's flawed logic, but once you aim north fo 600 you're building a motor anyways, that's the time for FI (no one makes a kit for the car in question). I'm looking for 450-500 max for a few passes.... http://image.hotrod.com/f/35240737/hrdp-1112-06-o+bonneville-salt-flats-for-beginners+the-course.jpg
  14. Things I know about this black magic: -Above a certain amount, fuel needs to go in in with the funny gas, possibly more than your fuel system can cope with. -Cobra intakes have low-velocity area in them, in which the fuel may pool. So, what are the options for 200'ish shots? Drilling and tapping aluminum is easy, are there wet kits that come with 8 threaded injectors? Are there ready-made kits that don't shoot through a throttle plate? Any resources for metering just how much you need to accomplish a certain goal on a certain engine? Looking for a cheap kick in the ass. Not really looking to blow the engine up, but I'm not overly concerned about its safety. PS, I want it to spray for up to 2 miles at a time, 4200ft above sea level.

Will lift the load 54" up. Even works as a table or work platform. I had used it to store wheel/tire sets floor-to-ceiling: Stack a few wheels on it, jack it up to the ceiling, then park some more wheels under it (on some wood). Item located in West Chester, do not want to ship, but may be convinced haul it to Columbus if needed. $500 obo.... I know that, as soon as I sell it, I'm going to need it. :mad2:
  16. Come the apocalypse, all that will be left will be twinkies and this bumper: http://s8.postimage.org/3omzf8it1/steelbumper.jpg http://s15.postimage.org/fe92ovfsr/IMG_1743.jpg I've dragged around a trailer with a canoe and a sailboat on it pretty regularly in the 2 years it's been in service. I haven't dragged myself out of anything with it, only because I haven't become stuck. Main beam is 1/4" thick, and about 4"x2" and matches the width of the car. I've since gave it a coat of cold galvanizer and duplicolor paint to match the gold of my outback. Some surface rust on the underside, nothing a wire wheel wont remove. All welds are solid, MIGs holding the hitch receiver to the bar (and braces not seen in pic) were professionally done. It comes with some steel panels to cover the side vents behind the wheel, I never had the time to tie these into the bumper to finish the project. The bumper bolts right on to the existing studs et al, the side shields require a nut-sert, but otherwise use existing holes to mount. $100 takes it all. Pick-up only, I'm not shipping this beast. I'm in Cincinnati, but frequently visit Columbus.
  17. The only "filthy" submission on this list has been Rammstein. I am disappoint. http://i1.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/004/457/challenge.jpg
  18. Follow-up question: Which heads are better for mid-range to top end power? I hear it'sthe B's........
  19. Because Mark VIII. Only kooks makes headers for this car, and they're $800+. I'm looking for something cheap to cut up.
  20. I'm seeing some classifieds for headers that span 96-04, all of which long tubes which I'm sure isn't a coincidence. But that's taking the used-parts owners on their word.
  21. Did they change for the supercharged versions? Basically, will adding 04 cobra manifolds to a 96'ish motor be of any benefit? Secondly, what are these? FRPP extra short shorties? http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-04-Mustang-Cobra-Mach-1-DOHC-4-6L-Exhaust-Manifold-/140693470985?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item20c1fbff09
  22. http://rlv.zcache.com/for_the_win_postcard-p239691635036922586z8iat_400.jpg Why can't I find SFI 15.1? I found an IHRA reference that says "SFI 15.1 wheels with beadlocks mandatory if car exceed 215mph", which is promising.
