  1. I've seen prototype tests of ejector seats with pop-out face shields for exact that reason.
  2. Sent them my specs, thanks! Anybody else? Anybody know who does OEM plating for automotive wheels?
  3. IIRC CVG was just declared the nations most expensive airport of the year.
  4. London is a very common haul and should be relatively cheap, but the airports involved are clusterfucks.
  5. Looking to nickel-chrome plate a chunk of 6061 aluminum, of similar size. Need good, repeatable quality. May need to do 50 a year.
  6. OH MY GOD IT'S A LION GET OUT OF THE SIDE CAR http://theselvedgeyard.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/wall-of-death-lion1.jpg
  7. Ditto, they run a bot through everybody and you get to choose. You need to buy right now, prices are only going to go up. Just used them to get tix to Mexico City. Air Tran seems wicked cheap for domestic, and I have heard satisfactory things about them. Just ran their site and it came up with a $280 flight on the 10th that gets you there by noon. That's like a sore dick; ya just can't beat it.
  8. asking vet school friend, he likes this kinda stuff

  10. So what's the deal on these organized distance rides? Do you pay a fee and just ride, or do you raise funds to gain entry? I'm interested but haven't looked into them much yet, training for a marathon at the moment.
  11. Don't be such a poof.... easy for me to say, my bike probably weighs as much as yours + overnight kit. This guy seemed to have a lot of crap, even if he was sleeping outside. You could easily get by with 15lb or less. The trail comes within ear-shot of Kings Island, not to mention passing through some towns, so finding a hotel down here would be no problem either.
  12. Met a guy riding from Columbus to Cincinnati this weekend... met him in Cincinnati, so he was successful. Looks like you can get from Big Darby to near downtown Cincinnati on bike trails alone. Any interest in long distance camp-rides?
  13. True, but the paint does seem to be peeling away abnormally easily.
  14. Ahhh I have no idea where it came from.... McMaster?
  15. Because it's entirely vestigial. Show her a picture, she'll say "You just want me to run it through the sewing machine a bunch of extra times?" and you'll be on your way.
  16. Ummm.. corrugated cardboard? Seriously, introducing an airgap will do wonders for insulating heat. You just need to make sure that your gap material wont melt or burn. If ou can do a belly pan that forces air to flow up between your exhaust pipes and the floorboards, it will help... just shut the car off when you idle. Have you tried the trucker beaded seat covers? They can help with swap ass. Beyond that, get yourself some clothes that breathe, sunblock, and some small fans to circulate air while the windows are up (rain). I've seen Coleman "tent fans" that affix by way of magnet.
  17. I.... I think I have some of that stuff in the garage. What's it worth? lol
  18. I read this thread drunk... thank you CR for teaching me something completely random.
  19. Easy outs have a minimum useful size. They are hardened steel and require a bit of torque to work... so once you get small enough, they just shatter.
  20. Fire actually is kind of a solution: Start a smokey leaf fire under the limb, the smoke will scatter them..... Then, raid it for honey.
  21. Has anyone heard anything about New fiat paint sucking? My neighbor is pulling her hair out over her new Fiat, in fancy Mocha color. In the month she has owned it, it has picked up twice as many road chips as her previous 300E did in its 2 years of service on the same commute. I'm looking at this these chips, they're down to the plastic. Looking under the edges and the bits that were masked to stay black.... it doesn't look like this thing was primed. The base color of the plastic bumper cover is black, the innards of the chips are black, the thin paint on the underside of the radii shows through to black, and I'm not seeing layering. It looks as though this paint comes away from it's base very easy... and the dealerships solution is to sand them down and spot paint them? And they fought and fought her to get to that point.
  22. Specific market: If you want the peak HP that the tube manifold can provide, its the lightest way to get there.
