The fatigue part of covid is a real thing too. I was sleeping 18+ hours a day for several days. You would think after sleeping most of a day the next day you'd have trouble getting to sleep but that was not an issue. I was sleeping constantly. I will say after I've come out of it I've actually slept better than I have in years. This whole week I've knocked out a solid 7-8 hours a night. It's been years since I've done that.

The wife and I just finished fighting this thing. I don't want it again. It was a rough 10 days and I still have some lingering shit going on. The brain fog thing is real. Every time I drive now it feels like I'm drunk as hell. My wife is still having problems with a high heart rate. She goes for an EKG this week to see if they can figure out what's going on. She works with + patients every day so it was just a matter of time before she brought it home. Part of me is kind of relieved we have it behind us and should have some limited form of immuny for a bit but these lingering issues are a little worrisome.

Haha....you're the poster child for holier than thou political blow hard. Just because you can puke political nonsense doesn't make you informed or intelligent. It makes you just another loud mouthed asshole that no one wants to be around. There's guys like you on both sides of the aisle so this isn't a left or right thing....it's a personality thing. Just because you have an opinion, and it is just your opinion, you don't have to share it with everyone. Remain quiet and let people wonder if you're an asshole instead of opening your mouth and removing all doubt.

I'm informed fhe perfect amount I would like to be and your wall of text only reinforces that. Why type all that out? Why the need to "inform" me why I'm wrong for having my own opinion? I didn't read it and if I did I wouldn't have cared what it says. You do you but realize while you're doing that I'll be doing me.

So far the only "plan to address the issue" I see from anyone is people pointing fingers at each other to defend the ignorant shit their own party is doing. I have a full enough life without needing to spend time arguing over stupid shit that I probably don't agree with that much to begin with. I'll let everyone else spend their time on this planet doing that. It's just not that big of a deal no matter how big people may think it is.

I think that's something being lost in all this. One isn't better or worse than the other. They're both stupid and uncalled for yet both sides try to justify their own stupidity by pointing out the stupidity of the other. Why can't they both just be wrong?

The left thinks the right are a bunch of idiots....the right thinks the left are a bunch of idiots. I think they're both correct.

Sidewalk....that's laughable.

Basically the coasts and inner cities determine what we get. The huge swath in the middle just don't have the numbers to control elections.

I've seen this question twice this month on forums. I'll copy my reply to the other one. I'm not an expert by any means....just know what I bought my son and how much use he's gotten out of it. For the money it was a great investment. Bought this one for my son a couple years ago and he still uses it pretty regularly which, to me, says alot about the telescope. When he's 17 and still gets it out 2 years later so him and his younger brother can look at stuff. I'd describe it as a true beginners telescope. You can see the rings on saturn and things like that with it. He raided another old one I had for eye pieces so not sure what combo of eye pieces he uses but it works. We bought him a phone mount for it to take pics but he never really got that to work very well. He would be the one for me to ask his opinion and I will if you'd like because he's spent hours and hours using it. Again....that tells me everything I need to know about it. https://www.celestron.com/products/powerseeker-127eq-telescope

Although I do carry a propane box on vacations I've also smoked a bunch on my 22" weber kettle. I split it in half with foil so I get a hot and cool side. I've done butts, briskets, and ribs like that.

I understand the newer more tech type smokers and the draw to them but I still rock out stick smokers. I enjoy the cook process more than the food these days. I've been smoking stuff for 25 years so I've eaten a metric shit ton of bbq. I've competed in competitions (and did pretty good) but mostly just enjoy cooking so do it mostly for family and friends. I give most of what I cook away these days. I guess I understand some just want to eat bbq but for me it's always about the process so the more hands on the better. It's taken me forever to even start using a meat thermometer and I still rarely use it to check for temps but more to poke for tenderness haha. I gave away a few smokers the last year or 2 (at one time I had 7) and now I'm down to a chargriller side box and an oklahoma joe bandera. The OKJ is probably my favorite smoker I've ever owned. Just cooks really nice and since it's a vertical offset it's pretty efficient. I also have a propane box I wag around on vacations and stuff because it fits in front of the 5th wheel hitch in the truck haha

2016-2018 was then...this is now. Would you believe: Duke https://hartfordhealthcare.org/about-us/news-press/news-detail?articleid=27691&publicId=395 Uc berkeley https://www.dailycal.org/2020/05/15/a-good-measure-of-protection-researchers-find-universal-masking-policies-lead-to-suppressed-spread-of-covid-19/ MIT https://news.mit.edu/2020/masks-mandates-impact-deaths-0805 Personally I would think it's common sense but evidently some need scientists to tell them that covering your mouth and nose helps limit the germs you spread.

That's the effects AFTER you have it....does nothing to limit the spread. That's done by not congregating and sharing space and/or equipment.

You should educate yourself

Could it possibly be call screening stopping the phone from ringing? Mine will do that with spam calls.

1975 Rockwood Roadking 2002 - the new "family truckster"
xlr8tn replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Passing Lane
My old duramax and now cummins have zero problems towing 70+. I never do it though. ST tires are not meant for those speeds (65 max) and ST tires are not known for their dependability. I'm also 50 though so maybe that's it. -

Sounds like you're the perfect person/family for that RV....or any RV actually. It takes a certain mindset to see all the challenges as part of the trip. We've had our 5er for 10 years and I had 2 pop ups prior to that. As a family we've camper for most of my kids lives so it's just what we've always done. We had to skip our 10th annual VA beach this year due to covid stuff but went to PA on a river where I keep it all summer. Looking forward to next year when hopefully we can do our beach trip. Hiccups are always part of any trip. You can limit those with good maintenance and a good check list. One thing I haven't seen you mention...or missed it if you did...are condition of the brakes. Imagine you took care of that when wheels were off but if not I'd revisit that. Good luck in your travels and enjoy the experience. -
Unless the person sneezing has a mask on.

I don't think anyone has been saying masks are 100% effective. More that they help reduce the spread. Why would someone not do something so easy to do if it reduces the chances of spread? It also reduces viral load which determines how sick someone might get. It reminds me of when seat belts were made mandatory except this time you're doing it to possibly help keep someone else safe along with yourself.

I've thought for awhile now that testing is a terrible way to judge case numbers because you're not testing everyone....you're picking and choosing who you test which severely skews the results in one direction. I'm not sure there's 1 solid way to judge increases but for me the most telling is hospitalizations and even that doesn't factor in asymptomatic or people that are not yet sick enough for the hospital. I try to look at all the trends and they'll start to tell a.story. if everything is trending up that tells you everything you need to know. Because of bias you can't really trust what anyone tells you right now. We're just trying to make the best decisions we can for our family right now which means we err on the side of caution. Masks in our limited forays into public and no large groups period.

Yesterday at 36k was our 3rd highest cases per day. I don't see any reason it'll slow down between now and the fall which is when the true second wave should arrive. Death percentages should improve because the age ranges are dropping for the infected mostly due to who's moving around the most. Still going to be alot of people die between now and the end of the year. Hopefully treatments get even better over the next months and prevent some deaths.

I heard or read somewhere yesterday that one of the hooligans downtown had tested positive for covid and was down there with symptoms protesting. Is anyone really that stupid?
