  1. Informative thread. Just dug my son's Traxxas stampede out of the closet for the 7 yr old. Had to buy batteries for it but just went with the nimh Traxxas off Amazon because that's what it cake with. May have to order a lipo for it now. My older son played with it for a couple years and it held up to his abuse so now that I'm getting the younger kid out of it I can't complain.
  2. I think everyone's thoughts are valid.....I'm not one to come down on an opinion even when it doesn't agree with mine. I will say that it terrifies me these days that my wife has to go work at the hospital. Healthcare workers comprise 20% of our states cases. To me that's absurd....the people that should be the most prepared and the most protected should not represent 20%. That's what forms my opinion....I don't watch national news because it's been garbage for years. I'm concerned for my family's safety and my own safety. The more people don't respect this thing the longer it lasts and the longer my family is in danger. I grew up poor....not having money doesn't scare me....losing someone in my family does.
  3. Without the shutdown though those overwhelmed pockets would be much larger. That's what's getting lost here...the mitigation is doing exactly what is was supposed to do. Make it look like it wasn't needed. Ask NY, Louisiana, michigan, etc etc if they wish they would've locked down harder and earlier.
  4. The science is there.....there will be a 2nd wave. How big is up to us. Lift the orders too soon and we'll be repeating them at some point.
  5. Not a fan of the pressers right now patting ourselves on the back for how good we've done. It will for sure make some not take it as serious and could lead to another ramp up. Our cases are still climbing so there's still alot of uncertainty. Talk to me in June and let me know how we've done or better yet....talk to me when we have an actual working and available vaccine. Until then I'm staying locked down.
  6. As good as I keep hearing we in Ohio are doing there's still room for improvement. I'm still seeing far too many people not doing their part. These are the people that turn this from 300-400 cases a day now to 8k-10k cases a day in a month. Today I took my daughter up to do a drive by pick up of her softball pictures. I was against going and getting them altogether but caved figuring since it's drive through there shouldn't be a ton of risk. Wrong. There were probably 10-12 people standing around talking and walking up to all the cars talking like it was just a normal Sunday. There are no normal Sundays right now. It was just too many people too close together. Defeated the whole purpose of drive through pick up.
  7. Just saw a graph yesterday that shows Albany has more deaths per capita than anywhere else in the US....including NY.
  8. I'd love to invest ours....just don't know shit about investing and have never done it before.
  9. Do you really believe we only have 1100 cases? I'm guessing you also believe Wuhan that has a population of 11 million only had 80k. We only have 1100 cases because we aren't testing enough people.
  10. It's nice to see people putting the needs of others first /sarcasm If you're business as usual right now you're a sorry ass piece of shit.
  11. Anyone have Fran Dewine's email? I wanted to get her black bean soup recipe.
  12. Governors covid update is recipes and tik tok dances? What the fuck?
  13. I've never been much of a worry type person but for some reason this shit has me shook to the core. It's just terrifying shit to have to wake up to every day and the nightmare gets worse every day.
  14. Who didn't see that coming? I bet there's riders attached all over that thing that has nothing to do with our current issue. I'm generally a person that gets along with everyone. I like most people which pisses my wife off because she says I'm too trusting. That being said....I hate those motherfuckers guts in Washington. Not just one party....I hate all those pieces of shit
  15. At 4 months we should be about a quarter way through this nightmare. http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/03/modeling-study-suggests-18-months-covid-19-social-distancing-much
  16. New York is having a shitty day. As of right now they've added 12k+ cases and 58 deaths just today.
  17. People blaming Trump need to look within first for blame. How many people this time last week were business as usual? Just 2-3 days ago Florida and Texas beaches were hopping. The warnings have been there for weeks if not months. American arrogance is more to blame than anything. People still traveling abroad instead of cancelling due to cost, bitching about racist Trump when he stopped flights from China, etc etc. How's that working out now?
  18. You should watch the entire press conference so you realize it was actually the question before that which pissed Trump off and rightfully so instead of just going off the clipped version that people enjoy showing.
  19. I appreciate the optimism. For the last 8 days I've been almost bed ridden due to my back. Just sit around most of the day on my phone and it's beyond fucking depressing. There's just not many optimistic points of view floating around.
  20. Now this has been quite a few years ago but my brother and I used to fish buckeye all the time. I've seen some incredibly fast boats on that lake.
  21. Yeah...I've had several people recommend that sharpener to me.
  22. I sit and listen to the highway out front and I'm not noticing a huge reduction in traffic really. Way to many people working I think. I'm sure some of it is essential stuff like groceries or beer but a large portion has to be people working.
  23. These are supposed to be the bomb diggity. I haven't gotten one yet but it's on my list of things to get. https://www.worksharptools.com/sportsman/?utm_source=adwords&utm_term=work%20knife%20sharpener&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=Search&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_tgt=kwd-296898628971&hsa_cam=1408088314&hsa_acc=7880017915&hsa_ad=345004479531&hsa_ver=3&hsa_mt=p&hsa_grp=58040600520&hsa_kw=work%20knife%20sharpener&hsa_src=g&gclid=Cj0KCQjw09HzBRDrARIsAG60GP_G1SB59LNF0NdcGrjtcitjNhWu511E-JzMFbxEVK7Zl5_p3ewbfewaApFYEALw_wcB
  24. Another traction option is to cut a bike tire and epoxy it around the wheels. Much more driveway friendly.
  25. Looks like an fj cruiser had a baby with a Ford escape.
