  1. interesting point and one I hadn't really thought of....may have to adopt this one. It makes perfect sense to me.
  2. I know this is how all racing works but it's never made sense to me. What happened to "run what ya brung"? Isn't the point of racing to see who is fastest?
  3. I don't disagree with you that the opportunity to make money is there. My brother owns 2 restaurants in Columbus so he would certainly agree the money is there. My point is the 18-24 year old crowd have always been tough hires. That job is nothing more than a paycheck for the majority of them. Just getting them to work every day is a chore in itself.
  4. While it does look bad when we're compared to GB as far as gun statistics there's one thing that gets overlooked......there's several reasons this country was founded and the right to bear arms was pretty high on the list. Excuse me if I don't care what GB does.
  5. I understand the rush to point out gun violence elsewhere but using GB is really a terrible example. Their gun crime is a fraction of what our's is and to even be caught with an illegal firearm there gets you a mandatory minimum of 5 years in prison. Just not a good example to use.
  6. looks like a ford fusion had a baby with a honda ridgeline and the honda ridgeline had a little nissan frontier in it.
  7. sounds kind of the same way it was 25 years ago when I worked in a restaurant. I guess kids going to college to earn their degree so they can have a good job still don't like being shit on in the food industry for next to no pay.
  8. sounds like it is.....unless you own chickens, horses, a bobcat, are good mechanically, or have a sand blaster. If that's the case you get some guy borrowing your shit all the time. just busting your chops...couldn't resist

I will be giving this one a try. I like the smell of the soap if nothing else. These are normally winter time problems....never had a mouse issue during the summer. Maybe the snakes have taken over outside and they figure their chances are a lot better in the house with the cat that gives them rides from one room to another.

I don't want to even discuss cats......we have one in the house. It was a cat I rescued as a kitten from the woods where I hunt. Someone dumped 3 little kittens on the road down there so I took them and found homes for 2 and kept 1. The damn thing is a catch and release cat. On multiple occasions I've seen it catch a mouse and then just drop it and let it run off. We tried the outdoor cat thing a bunch of years ago but people out here shoot them. It showed up with a load of shot in it's back and had to be put down. I have built the water traps in the past but in the garage I'm guessing the big ass st bernard would eat all the peanut butter then drink all the water.
  11. this is always disappointing.....when something happens the media is in such a hurry to report it they print everything they come across as fact and it's days later that the truth, or at least a version of it, comes out. Drives me crazy and it makes me never trust first reports because they're rarely accurate. It carries over for a few weeks with places trying to scoop the details on what happened. I'm sure it's the pressures of trying to be the first to report things because of the competition that's out there in the media but we pay the price for it through wrong information.
  12. if this is fact the case she needs charged with murder....allowing that to happen is the same as actually pulling the trigger if you knew it was coming and didn't say anything. I would've turned in my own momma if I knew mom was planning a mass murder. Although back in the day I did almost witness that happen at a jc penny's over a clearance sale.

this was a concern of mine...that they went the other direction also but the car runs great so I think I'm ok there. I closed the cut out so that should keep them out of the exhaust as I don't think they can get to it from the rear.....although they can get to some places you wouldn't think they would. I'm going to move the car out of the garage into the driveway for a while until I get these things killed off. That should keep the mice from going in there to die also. I fought these things outside in the 5th wheel a couple years ago and what a pain in the ass it was. They chewed a couple heat vents up and had nests in there. Impossible to get that smell out of the vents...ended up replacing the duct work to get rid of the smell. Not looking forward to doing all this with the car again. edit: Just went out and checked the trap I set in the floor board of the car......1 down.

If I knew the damn thing was still in there I would've had a bucket of water under each exhaust tip. I've had some mouse issues here and there in the past but never this bad and not in the car. It's also a pretty sweet ass surprise to have a car WOT and have one jump out from under the dash onto your leg and run up it. This all goes back to feeding the dog in the garage. I started feeding him out there last year because he's a St. Bernard and gets food all over the place when he eats because the skin on his face hangs down so far. Now there's dog food in the garage that he drops all over the floor and that's drawing the mice in. We sweep it up but he puts more down every time he eats. Might be time to rethink that strategy......how much food do dead dogs get on the floor?

So I detailed the car about a month ago and drove it once or twice that week. Pulled it in the garage where it's sat since. Go to back it out today so me and my son could play guitar/drums for a bit and insulation comes out the exhaust. I get out and am looking at it with the car just idling and a minute later a damn mouse runs out the exhaust pipe. I warm it up and have my son stand back there and rev it a few times to blow the insulation out and he says "there's dog food coming out". I go ahead and pull the car out and run it up and down the road a few times to blow the damn dog food out of it. Watching behind the car it looked like a buck load came out. About halfway through the first pull a mouse drops out of the dash, runs up my leg, jumps from my arm onto the center console, and disappears into the back seat. I have a regular infestation going on in there evidently just in the last couple of weeks. I had left the cutout open so that's how they got in the exhaust. I set some traps in the floorboard and will be putting poison around the car in the garage. It sat all winter with no issues at all and now that it gets warm all the damn mice move in. I'm going to pull the kick panels out of the dash because I'm going to guess there's a nest in there somewhere as well as the exhaust. Hate those damn things.
  16. I don't get the days and days of arguing over the same shit.....seems very boring and a huge waste of time. One post and you can pretty much get your point across....maybe 1 or 2 after that but day in and day out is pretty pointless.
  17. it's easy to sit back and point out other's mistakes and think you have the solution....raising kids isn't near as easy as you might think and unless you are a parent there's no way you can have a concept of what it's like. It's a non-stop lesson from day 1 and there are no instruction manuals. It only gets harder the older they get too. People talk about the "terrible 2's" but those are actually some of the easiest years. A kid pitching a fit over a sucker in the supermarket is a lot easier to fix than a boy going through his first girl troubles at school where you wonder if it's going to fuck him up for the rest of his life. I will agree that some people that have kids made a terrible decision. I wouldn't let some watch my dog for the weekend much less raise a kid.
  18. I liken this to the guy on the corner holding the sign that reads "the end is near". This same complaint has been around forever. Bitching about how worthless kids are is not a new thing and it's unfounded for the most part. Kids only know what they're taught and only do what they're allowed to do. The finger pointing by the older generation should be done in a mirror. I have 3 kids and none lack drive or intelligence....well...the 3 year old does but my other 2 are honor roll students every quarter and both do as they're asked. I can guarantee you that my kids won't move back in once they're out on their own and that reason is simply because I won't allow it.
  19. yes....congratulations are in order this is a pretty cool word I forgot what I was going to say here yeah....normally he multi-quotes a post to death.
  20. not sure on those cars but can't see it really being much different than most sending units....probably just crud on the sender. Could try running some seafoam through it. You could also ohm out the sender out of the tank and see what that says...again...not sure on honda stuff how they ohm out. Older GM stuff was 0-90ohm and the newer f-body stuff is like 40-259ohms which are the ones I have experience with. That would at least narrow it down some whether it's the sender or gauge. I'm betting sender though.

my dad always had a thing for fieros.....no idea why. He was in his late 50's at the time and always talked about wanting to buy one. Never did get one before he passed. At some point I'm going to buy one just because he wanted one so bad.....just not the right time for me now. Wonder if I bought one for my son in 3 years when he starts to drive if that would be insta-ass beatings at school? I'm going to guess fieros aren't cool cars to own for a teenager? Or maybe they are....what do I know.
  22. it's now Friday......most people quit giving a shit on Wednesday.
  23. I would also try to think a few steps ahead. They will try to steal it most likely and good luck getting any trespassing or theft charges to stick. May want it on camera when it happens. Personally I would probably just let the authorities handle it.....these things have a way of escalating. The box is pretty cool though and I think it got your point across.
  24. The bars at a zoo are meant to keep animals in....not people out. I just have a hard time finding the zoo at fault here for anything. They did their job....they had a reasonable barrier that didn't allow the animals to get near people. It's not their responsibility to keep the people away from the animal.....that falls on the people visiting. If someone comes to your house and sticks a fork in your toaster should you be at fault for leaving the toaster stored to close to the forks or do you expect people in your house to use common sense while visiting?
  25. I have 3 kids and currently have a 3 year old. This is an impossible scenario in my family. When in public my kids are on their best behavior and don't do shit unless I allow them too. If they do something it's 100% my fault because they aren't old enough to make good decisions all the time and it's my job to make those decisions for them right now. Accidents happen and all that but if you're in an even border line situation where harm can come to your kids its your responsibility as a parent to be at your best.....I'm guessing that didn't happen here. Someone was busy sucking on a slushy or posting to facebook how kick ass the zoo was instead of watching their kid.
