man....this really hits home for me. I tow our 5er all over and these stories are always in the back of my mind. I have 3 kids and wife in the truck and to be honest it scares the shit out of me knowing how much responsibility I have when towing and how easily people can be taken from you while traveling. Thoughts and prayers go out to those families. I can't imagine the pain their in and hope I never have to know.

any knowledge on the damascus steel knives on ebay? I always buy my buddy's dad something every year for letting me keep my camper on his property all summer and stay out there. This year it was hand made cocobolo turkey and deer calls. I was kinda looking at those damascus knives on ebay for next year but not sure what kinda quality the blades are. Price out a damascus blade kit and how much you'd charge me to do a handle and maybe I can throw some money your way next spring when I buy him his yearly gift. edit: The blade would preferably be like a skinning knife or something like that and I'm a big fan of bocote wood. Just a beautiful wood.

yeah...not a fan of the newer tail lights either. Like others...this rumor has been around for awhile along with the v6 option rumor. I just wish they would go ahead and do it. On one hand I think there's something cool about having the front push rod engine that kinda goes against the grain but still holds it's own but there's also something to be said about what a mid engine would do for the car on the track. The bottom line is that a small percentage of vettes see any track time so GM needs to listen to the buyers and figure out what they want.

just saw a thing on the news about these companies about a month ago......tread carefully here. It's a ripoff in general. Do a lot of research before going forward. I know how it is with the wife thing.....I have one too....make sure you forward all your findings to her. It may or may not help.

we're on our 3rd kid with the power wheels quad we have. I've painted it twice. This is our last kid so he'll be getting the 24v version at some point. He's got to where he rides it pretty good now so it's getting about that time. I was gonna do 18v to save the gears but since he's the last one there's no reason to save it.....10 years and 3 kids is pretty good I think. As a side note.....another idea I had when he's done with it is to strip it down and make a beach crawler out of it to cart all our shit across the sand when we go to the beach.

There's just nothing sexy or even very fulfilling about putting a tranny in a car. It's a necessary evil though. That was kinda where I stopped at on mine. I did the rear and suspension which sucked in itself doing but I hoped the 4l60e would hold out for a few years until I could get to it so I went ahead and did the heads/cam and just threw a stall/cooler at the tranny. It has held up....I'm on about year 10 of it like that. I'm just at the point now where I want to make a lot of power and there's that damn tranny hanging over my head again. Should've done it back then....that was pre-2 of the kids and would've been much easier to do then. If I got really lucky and found one or the other used/cheap I could probably swing a tranny and blower. Now I'm also having to look at a different cam plus injectors ect ect ect. It's at about this point I start pricing out Polaris Razr's

I'm not a fan of where trucks have went but it is what it is. IMO if you buy a truck and then slap a hard tonneau on it then you purchased the wrong vehicle. My brother did that his last few trucks....at that point you have a car with a big ass trunk that gets shit gas mileage. Last year I started looking at getting another truck. Currently have an 06 duramax extended cab. Kids are starting to get older so at some point we're going to need a crew cab so they're not cramped on long trips. I was blown away at how much new diesels were so I started looking a few years older. I quit being blown away at the prices around '06 which is what I have now......kids will be fine in an extended cab.

I'm out of the loop on new music normally unless it's a band I already listen too...which is normally Texas red dirt type stuff but I like that song. Definitely has the radio hook to it. Guy has a unique voice too so that always helps set them apart.

I'd like to see " I have a family and 3 kids build". That basically means I have to do murder for hire in order to come up with $10k to put into the car these days. I was looking at doing more to my car next winter but it just gets depressing when I start adding parts up. My car is pretty much done except the trans and if I went with more power I would need bigger injectors but for the most part everything else is done. I wanted to do a supercharger but when you start adding in a built tranny the price gets out of hand pretty quickly for me.

the dog and car things are just deflections....like saying heart disease kills millions so lets ban food. The same arguments being used here for the assault type rifles can also be used against them. If this guy could kill just as many with a muzzle loader, shotgun, or a pistol as he did with a rifle then couldn't you defend your home equally as well with either? I'm all for gun rights and all for people owning guns. I don't think the regular joe schmo should be able to own ANY gun. There are people I wouldn't let own a kitchen knife if it was possible because they're far too stupid to make the common sense decisions needed to operate a knife. That type of person has no business owning any weapon they choose. We have to figure out a way to weed those people out. Banning guns isn't the answer but just letting idiots walk into a store and buy any weapon they want isn't necessarily the answer either.

me and you think exactly alike.....that's been my stance for years. I hunt so it always feels like a true double edged sword and that I'm being a traitor to my fellow gun owners but I really see no useful purpose to own an assault rifle....or pistol for that matter. I just have no use for either. I've also thought for awhile that hunting should be mandatory for every kid from 9-18 years old. There would be a lot more people around that had a greater respect for life and firearms if that were the case.

nice.....I'll have to load mine up and bring it out and we can play around on them sometime. July is tough for me to do anything. We'll be home a total of about 6 days the whole month. This is our travel/camp month. Maybe in August if it's not a million degrees out we can get together.

you're out in the sticks now too Anthony....if you let a cat run you might as well paint a target on the side of it. Someone got ours a few years ago even with a collar on it. Not sure what he was doing so he may have deserved it but still tough to explain to the kids when one shows up with shot all in it's back.

They would probably just relocate to inside the house.....I want them dead. I'm up to 3 now with a trap sitting in the passenger side floor board.
