I read a blurb yesterday that said congress was going to approve some individual funding on "popular" programs and National Parks was listed. There was no time frame as to when that might happen but it made it sound like it would be this week. Hopefully they'll get it done and you'll be able to do your trip. I'm going for the early muzzle loader weekend this weekend. My plan is to just camp on the side of the road which isn't ideal but I've done it before in the past. The other option is to take my chainsaw down and create my own camping spot that doesn't have a lock on it......the forest service may frown heavily on that though when they do get back to work.

even though it's federal land it's patrolled mostly by STATE game officials so those guys are still working. Just saw 1 today in his truck. The forest itself isn't shut down...just the trails and camps which I know for you guys that ride the trails that isn't much consolation but for those of us that hunt it's a huge deal. I'll just have to camp on the side of the road instead of the free camp I usually stay at. That article says the camps that hunters traditionally use will remain open but both camps where I go were locked up last week. Probably because they're also used by people that ride the horse trails.

I agree with one exception.....they closed the camp ground that I put the camper in when I hunt. I wouldn't even know this shit is going on except for that. I can make do but it's much nicer to park the camper off the road instead of on the side of the road. I say don't half ass it if you're going to close down.....shut it all down.

while eagles, golden eagles especially, are bad ass my money is that if one tried that shit with a jaguar the jag would be shitting feathers for days.

diatomaceous earth is completely safe so no need to leave due to that. Fleas are a pain to get rid of. You just have to stay on top of the vacuuming like gergwheel said making sure to empty the vacuum into a bag if it's bagless and taking it outside when you're done along with treatments. I've never had much luck using bombs but whatever you use make sure it has a growth regulator in it. It's also not an overnight fix. You have to stay on top of it and you can get them under control. We fight them every year here and I hate using the chemicals with the kids in the house but I've really found no other way short of burning the house down to get rid of them. This year has been by far the worst year we've ever had with them. I try to treat the house in stages so I can at least keep the baby off the carpet for a while. I'll do the upstairs first and then a day or two later I'll do the downstairs. Good luck and update the thread to let me know what you guys did and how it worked out.

I'm at 60lb's lost so far and I've taken a little different approach. If I can't have it the way I want it then I just don't eat it at all. What I've found is it's everyday habits that help me. I can still drink some beers on the weekend and eat wings and shit like that but Mon-Fri I'm all about watching what I eat. I think some people let the diet control their lives to the point where they hate the diet and that makes them eventually say "fuck it". You have to cut yourself some slack sometimes with the understanding that it comes at a small price. That price is maybe a slight weight gain that week or a no weight loss week but if you stay with it that weight will come right back off. I made a few adjustments to even my high calorie stuff like I no longer eat 12" subs because in all honesty a 6" fills me up. The 12" was just habit. I pretty much gave pizza up altogether because there are other high calorie meals I'd rather have when it comes to "bang for the calorie buck". Like you said.....I changed my lifestyle but I cut myself a little slack if I eat something shitty. It's not the end of the world......just don't do it everyday. I'm no weight loss guru and I don't think I have all the answers. I just know what's worked for me. I'm still losing weight and I never really feel like I'm doing without. I don't go to bed hungry and things like that. It's been a pretty comfortable journey so far. I'm pretty much at my original goal but if I can take off another 10-15 lbs that's cool too. I'm not sweating it either way.

almost all places have healthy(er) choices these days but the fact you referenced "deep fried" in the same post as "healthy food" tells me you may not be as committed as you need to be

I had a forklift battery explode one time. The cables had some exposed wire and when I was moving it into the lift the wires gounded out onto the body of the forklift. It arc welded a hole through the body of the lift and then exploded about 2 feet from me. I'm not sure about this particular person but I know for me I would've been running and dropping my underwear full of shit down a man hole.

thanks for the info and advice.....the reason I want a title is so that I can get a trail pass for WNF mostly. My uncle is in Missouri so if I go down there to pick the Polaris up I'll see about him just applying for a new title for me. Seems like he said he never got one originally but I could be wrong there. His house burned a couple years back so maybe that's what happened to the title. We only talked about it for a few minutes really. I'm going to call him this week and figure out exactly what's up with the title and go from there. The 4 wheeler is in excellent condition as he's taken real good care of it and hasn't really had it out a ton. Just to putt around the yard on and stuff like that. Being my uncle I definitely trust it much more than the neighbors bike. I'd rather have one I know for sure isn't stolen and then just work on getting the title. The upside is I'd feel a little better about my son riding a 4 wheeler versus a bike. I may still check on the bike though and get both if it looks legit.

question 2 My uncle has an 01 Polaris 500 4 wheeler he bought new back in 01. He said he'd sell that to me cheap. He doesn't have a title for it either. Pretty sure he never got a title for it. I know 100% it's not stolen but I would still want a title for it. Would I be able to get one? I'm guessing at a minimum I'd have to pay the original taxes on it since he probably didn't if he never applied for a title. I'm just not sure what all is involved in getting a title.

I don't consider myself highly creative but I'm pretty sure even I could come up with something better than doing burnouts and stalling it several times.

saw it on the news tonight....the president of Somalia ( I believe it was) is staying there and people are protesting over human rights stuff.
-
sorry for your loss.......grandpa's are special people. I was really close to mine growing up. To this day I find myself finding questions I wish I would've asked him.
-
I wish more people did this.......2 people have a problem on the freeway they just pull over and kill each other. Eventually it'd be a pretty nice drive where ever you needed to go.

mine is only ~10k but I have zero issues with stability. It tows excellent. My truck is my daily and even just being an extended cab short bed it can be a pain in the ass in small parking lots. I'd hate to think the pain in the ass long bed crew cabs would be in those situations. That's one of the main reasons I didn't get a dually. They tow really nice but everyday driving sucks not to mention the extra $500-$600 in tires you have to put on them. I love my truck but with the kids getting older and having the 3rd kid now my next one will be a crew cab. I'm generally not a dodge person but that mega cab is bad ass....I'd look seriously at dodge just to get that cab.
-
my next truck will be a crew cab but I'll most likely stick with a short bed.....you add all that bed and cab and their turning radius gets pretty crappy. You can get a superglide hitch that slides by itself so you never have to touch it.
-
another thing is you don't have to necessarily get a long bed to tow a 5er. I tow mine with my 06 short bed. Depending on the front design of the camper you may need a slider hitch. I put a reese slider in mine but I never have to slide the hitch because my front clears the cab to almost 90 degrees. I never turn that sharp anyhow because it's hard on trailer tires to drag them like that and if you're turning to 90 degrees on any kind of regular basis you need some backing lessons. If I slide the hitch I have plenty of room but like I said.....I never have to slide it. I love my duramax.

this says it best.....Cleveland is where quarterbacks go to die. Today I think Cleveland was feeling the heat from JAX as far as being the shittiest team in the NFL......this trade today puts the Clowns back out in front by a wide margin.

goldfish....cheap, no headaches, and you have a burial site in each bathroom.

I would like to go on record saying that I made it through 1:14 of that video......that has to be some kind of record right?

you guys have obviously never had a dog do $1500 worth of damage to your dog in your yard. The board with nails is actually option B of what I would do. Option A involves a claw hammer and a shovel. I have a strict policy that if your dog is in my yard he will never have a chance to do it a second time. This is what happens when 2 pits come in your back yard and attack your 13 year old dog. They bit his ear off, bit him all over his body, and took a chunk the size of an orange out of his arm pit. Those yellow pieces are surgical tubing ran under his skin to help drain the wounds. I shot one of them in the face with a shotgun. I now have 2 kids playing in the backyard so yes.....I will kill the hell out of ANY dog that comes into my yard. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/injuriesresized.jpg

thanks....I'll get the vin tomorrow and start there.

My neighbor has an older kawasaki enduro he said he'd sell me for my son. He doesn't have a title and before I even think about it I'd want to make sure it's not stolen and I'd like to get a title for it. How do I go about doing that? Just take the VIN to the dmv or something?

put down some pieces of plywood along the fence with nails sticking up through it. You'll have to contend with him jumping it one more time but that will be his last time.
