  1. yep.....you're allowed to voice your opinion as long as it's the same as theirs. Hopefully the millions of gays that watch Duck Dynasty will stop watching....oh wait....nevermind.
  2. lenient game warden.....that's some funny shit right there. Not gonna happen. Those guys get hard on's writing tickets...no way they go easy. Also....as best I can tell....short of being god there's no one else with as much power as they have. They can pretty much do whatever they want. I was walking out during bow season one year after hunting the afternoon and had one that had parked up the road and hid in the bushes waiting on me to come out. First thing he did was put the flashlight in my eyes which isn't cool to begin with so I knew who I was dealing with before he even said a word. After he checked my license and all that shit he had his drug dog work my truck. I didn't have anything to hide so I wasn't worried about it but I'm sure some people would've flipped out about it. Guy was a douche just like every single game warden I've ever talked to. It's just par for the course. The lesson to learn here is don't do anything wrong and you have nothing to worry about. Going out without your plug in your gun during gun week is just asking for it whether it was intentional or not. That's like the 2nd thing on their list they check. License.... then plug.
  3. both were pretty good....now they just need to get out there and tour with Journey so that guy can show them how to get paid.
  4. why the color chart and nothing for thickness would be my question?
  5. couple years back when we did my son's car I had the most problems because of not being able to do any practice runs with it to see how the car went down the track. Getting the toe was a pain using the nails and I had my weight forward on it which is all wrong. I made a little ramp to send it down here at the house and I could never get it to track right and looking back I think it was mostly because the weight was forward and made the car really unstable on take off. You want that thing to run on a rail. The kids that won it out here were the sons of the troop leader who kept the track at his house.....imagine that. No big deal....son had fun making it so it served it's purpose. Still a little part of me though that would like another shot at it knowing what I know now. My son wanted out of scouts because it was pretty boring really. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/7resized.jpg
  6. pay the fine....learn from it....move on. Let me ask you this....when did you guys discover the plug was missing? I can see your mistake because I did it years ago. I remembered it after we got to where we were going to hunt. I just took my knife and cut a sappling and used that as a plug. At the end of the day though your buddy just messed up.
  7. bumping for the OP.....tractor supply has an 18" 42cc poulan pro on sale today and Friday for $99. That's a pretty good deal. I'm thinking about buying one myself. The only thing that kinda causes me concern is that motor size. My current 16" poulan has a 38cc motor so it's only 4cc more to drive 2 more inches of bar. My saw right now has plenty of balls but with another 2" of bar I'd like to at least have a 50-55cc motor on it.
  8. why couldn't he just be gay like everyone else that plays that game......
  9. used to have these on every car......it was called a trunk. You could carry many many pounds of drugs in those.
  10. I was under the impression that all train tracks in California had dead bodies next to them????
  11. I shoot enough to where we rarely if ever have to buy beef. I don't even remember the last time I bought beef other than a brisket to throw on the smoker here and there. It's been years. I got that buck back from the taxi yesterday.....66.75 lbs. Plus I have at least 1 more tag to fill. I have possibly 2 but my bonus doe expires right before gun season so I have a couple weeks to fill that one or it's gone. A lot of people hunt for the rack but I really don't. I don't shoot small deer but it has very little to do with the rack and more to do with the amount of meat they have on them. I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy killing a big mature buck but that's not my goal every year....my goal is to stuff our freezer with as much deer meat as possible so we don't have to buy beef.
  12. that's a pretty good deal on that stihl saw.....if I was in the market for one that's the one I would buy. That being said I currently have a 16" poulan that I've had for 12 years. I've ran a ton of wood through that thing every year and it runs flawlessly. I've had to do some work to it here and there but chainsaws are really easy to work on and parts are very cheap. If you cut any amount of wood you're going to have to work on them all at some point. The bigger saws come in pretty handy but IMO for most work a 16" is about right. My buddy has a 20" MAC from the early 80's that's a work horse but what a pain in the ass to lug it around because it's so heavy. Doesn't take long bending over running that thing until your back feels it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a name brand used saw because of how easy it is to fix them. For example.....last year I needed to clean the carb on mine. Looked at jackssmallengines.com and a brand new carb was $20. Sold.
  13. that doesn't look good for this weekend. I already have my buck so I'm not worried about it too much but I'm still after a doe and once they go in lock down it gets tougher to kill either. Probably have a few chasing still but I bet the peak happened in the last day or two. Hoping to take my boy out for the youth gun season next week and try for his first.
  14. when was that picture taken? Just curious to see how far along we are with the rut. That buck I shot was on a hot doe but I believe she was an early doe. There were several others with her that didn't show any signs of being hot. I was guessing rut would fire up this week and start tapering off this weekend.
  15. got this one Friday afternoon with the bow at Wayne....... http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/11-8-13buck_zps315a00fb.jpg
  16. I use a propane tank with the heater that goes on top of it......warmest thing I've found. Little more of a pain in the ass because you have to refill the tank and it uses quite a bit of propane but heats the garage nicely and much better than the edenpure I bought last year to try out there. Big difference between 40 and 20 when it comes to heating the garage....when it's 40 an electric heater works ok but when it's 20 the electric one just can't keep up.
  17. seems the good ole govt has figured out how to win the gun control debate.....just remove the ammo.
  18. really sorry to hear about this......stay strong and be there for her which I know you will.
  19. really nice looking truck.....I was on the fence about a dually vs single when I bought mine. In the end the size of them in a parking lot and the price to put tires on them scared me away. A big ass crew cab dually though is pretty sweet. That tread pattern looks like Toyo's but I could be wrong. I love my Toyo MT's on my truck and my buddy put Toyo AT2's on his that are pretty nice tires. Both are e rated.
  20. not sure how old you guys are but if you're old enough to remember the 70's and 80's then you know just how far Dodge has come with their trucks in particular. They used to be huge piles of shit. The big 3 in general have come a long ways with quality since then. Honda and Toyota are probably responsible for that by pushing them on quality.
  21. That's lancaster sport cycles where i've been going. Nice place & the guys there are very helpful. Just trying to find a place that stocks more parts. I'd drive further versus waiting several days on parts. Most of it is my fault for not having a complete list my first trip up there but the more orders I place the longer the quad is gonna be down.
  22. ahhh....I always forget that place is up there. Thanks.
  23. I ended up buying the 2000 Scrambler 500 4x4 from my uncle last weekend......$800 so I'm not complaining. The carb needs cleaned so I have it torn apart in the garage and while it's down I'm fixing anything I find. I have 2 separate orders at Lancaster Sport Cycle so far because I found a few other things after I placed the first order. Now today I find that I need a new petcock for the fuel tank. I would like to just go pick one up instead of having to order it and wait 5-6 days for it. I'm going to see if they have it in stock out here but so far the only thing out of about 6 they had in stock was a fuel filter so I'm guessing the answer is going to be "no". Any well stocked dealerships in Columbus I could call if they don't?
  24. battery care will go a long ways towards saving them. We have a powerwheels quad in the shed that I bought for my son when he was 3....he's 10 now and I painted it pink and my daughter used it until she got too big for it. We've had it 7 years and I only had to buy 1 battery for it. Just gotta take care of the batteries. My vote is to talk the wife into letting you get a cheap china quad. I bought one for my son when he turned 5 brand new for ~$450. 5 years later and he and my daughter still ride it daily. I couldn't even begin to add up the hours they've put on that thing in 5 years. It had several cool safety features when we bought it. Like an alarm with a remote kill switch and a govern for the throttle. I've replaced a ton of parts on it but all the parts are dirt cheap for it. I know people hate the chinese shit but it's worked out great for us.
