  1. I like my tires like I like my women: C.B.R.
  2. The wheels had a few more Nixon gouges than I expected, and the guy had no explanation for it. He didn't know the history the wheels. Plus, they were cast "winter tires only". That made me a little nervous. Carrie, I did talk to wheel medic, and they said that a crack in the barrel is not safely repaired.
  3. I just met a guy here in Cleveland, who was selling some wheels that I need to replace my cracked 17"s. The deal didn't work out. Still need to find something... Basically I need 16-17" wheels, offset ET38 to 42. Bolt pattern is 5x120. Lemme know what you got!
  4. I've told David that I've got space...though it's about to be occupied by a Fiero doing a Northstar V8 swap.
  5. I just saw this thread...Scott beat me to it. Up-flusher toilets use water jets to grind up debris and push it up through a pipe. We have one at my family's place in Long Island, NY in the basement on a slab. They are a little sensitive to what goes down it, but they do work, even after a few decades. Modern ones use a pump I guess...just Googled it. They are expensive, but better than massive concrete/plumbing work.
  6. https://richmond.craigslist.org/cto/6126844461.html As a kid of the late '80s into the '90s, I approve of this collection. However, his "estimates" are way high to say the least. It's quite the ensemble, though.
  7. Congratulations on getting this project completed! AND FOR CLEANING THOSE DAMN WHEELS! Great power, and the car sounds wicked!
  8. https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/6124919617.html Shut. The. Front. Door.
  9. I'm open-water certified, haven't dove in awhile... That being said, Gilboa Quarry seems to be a big draw. I did my open-water dives at a quarry near Carroll/Lancaster area with a plane and a Frito-Lay truck. It was a neat place to go. Only problem with quarry diving in my book is the water definitely gets chilly since it's spring-fed, and at Lakeview it's pretty silty so once a lot of people are swimming around, the water gets cloudy around some of the underwater features. Gilboa: http://www.daytrippingwithrick.com/day-tripping-with-rick-gilboa-quarry-ohio/ Lakeview RV Park: http://www.rvatlakeview.com/diving.html My wife got certified in Routan while in Honduras for a medical-missions trip in high school...
  10. Internet lied to me AGAIN. Thats the last straw...
  11. No car with 132k miles is in "perfect condition".
  12. That sounds reasonable, especially considering any shop would charge $50-$100 just for a good, oversized-tire front alignment.
  13. If only it had an 8ft bed... and could carry 1000lbs on I-71 at 65mph, as I had to do this morning to SWACO... I'm a bigger fan of the Cadillac El Mirage from the '70s.
  14. Anybody got some ideas for improving transportation? http://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2017/05/08/startups-to-compete-for-100k-investments-from-new.html?ana=e_colum_bn&u=lcAk5Whw9aw4bexeEj%2BA0Q0342b143&t=1494260765&j=78121331
  15. I was interested in DD'ing an Evora (Camry motor, RWD, stick, seating for 4, amazing styling, exclusive brand) but man, they are still up there in pricing.
  16. Nice shots. I regret I wasn't able to make it out this morning. Thanks, Yasser!
  17. Per the Jalopnik article about the BMW-obsessed guy that ruined his life.... I'm all out of resources for ANY additional projects.
  18. We all love Stubby Bob...but that's got a blown engine in the rear.
  19. I want to dispute that statements (ST is the new SRT-4), but the similarities are difficult to ignore. Miatas, FRS/BRZ's...any modern RWD stick Japanese cars are the new "hot rods" for the Gen-Y and Millennials. FWD turbo rockets outside of VW are definitely the preferred chariots of the Monster-drinking flatbills. Subaru's straddle the gap between both sides.
  20. What the heck are you tugging with a 250ci straight-6 and a floating-axle dually rear end? Half that engines' output is lost just keeping that axle rotating, let alone hauling something tied to it externally...
  21. I saw that article floating on Jalopnik, but just took the time to read it. Very well-written article and I appreciate the depth of David's questions. This is definitely a problem amongst car people that I see all too often, especially with one-on-one conversations where car people. I have no sympathy to a married man with children and a good career that chose to give in to his obsession in this way....be it BMWs, hookers, drugs. I certainly feel similar urges as a passionate man involved in the car game, but you gotta have balance in your life if you want to make it to your 50s without being a shell of a man.
  22. My neighbor is enough of a car guy to lease a Mazda 6 Touring with a 6-speed manual, so doing a little HBO here... He was parked downtown and a Jeep rolled into a parking spot next to him. He was not there. When he DID get to his car, he noticed the scrape on his bumper. He saw the red paint and looked at the neighboring Jeep...sure enough, scratches and paint missing from it's left-front bumper corner. He left a note and the owner called him. The quarter panel was not affected. Kevin Clifford took a look at the pic my neighbor sent below and said to rub nail polish remover on the scratch and Jeep paint, and likely buff it out afterwards. *I'll upload a pic after I download the Imgur app...apparently you can't free-upload pics to their site anymore from a phone???* Is a small refinishing job like this something a paintless-dent-repair (PDR) shop can do? Thanks!
