  1. I'm staring at that smokestack, thinking that place is around the old Union Tool and Die plant on the westside of Nationwide Arena area??? That looks like a cool place to have my Lincoln shot!
  2. I know that there's A LOT that needs to happen to an engine in order for porting to make this much of a horsepower difference...but it makes me want to take a die-grinder to my Ford 300 all the same Made me remember taking a Dremel to the factory 1.3L head in order to port-match it to my Doug Thorley header I bought for my Suzuki Samurai back in high-school...
  3. http://blackflag.jalopnik.com/watch-the-fastest-rear-wheel-drive-run-of-americas-best-1795651170 Very cool to see some good press about the Rally. Again, sorry that I missed it but will definitely try to see it in future runnings.
  4. I don't disagree with the truck thing, but this thread started (as I remember without going back) as a $20k-30k budget for a toy. I would rather have more money tied into fun cars (CTS-V, BMW, Linc, etc...) than in my hauler. Gets a $30k tee-ruk, too scared to haul old sofas and broken appliances. Comes back next year with a "Know of any $5-6k beater trucks for sale?"
  5. EssFo's truck looks sick. F-150s are not "fun cars"...driving 2.5hrs and you NOT REALIZING THIS scares me.
  6. I still blame Paul Milligan and Joe Fondriest - as well as their fanbois - for not letting Columbus have a similar crowd. Do the Byers meets draw this sort of crowd?
  7. https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-05-26/trump-blasts-german-carmakers-u-s-sales-and-threatens-barriers http://wallsdesk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Facepalm-2541.png
  8. This is a hell of a lot of car to get for under $30k... Track-prepped E36 like Kale's (that sold within a couple of days) would be a good 944 replacement, but I also wonder why you'd finally sort out a caged car and then want out of it for another platform... Porsche 911 Corvette Z06 ^^^Definitely my two favs for do-everything street-track killers within your budget(ish).
  9. That was a great article, and I love how factory-fresh that 4-eye Mustang still looks!!!
  10. Pssh...I've hauled over 1000lbs in the bed of my lowered '82 on I-71 to SWACO. Old tee-ruk is a cheap, fun vehicle that's actually useful.
  11. I got busted by "Hotel Papa" a couple of years ago, but the OSHP trooper on the ground singled me out in a rush-hour group and pulled me over because I was tailgating the witch in front of me in the '90s Grand Cherokee with pink Browning deer and Roxy stickers on the back glass. No speeding, but tailgating. I ended up paying the $75 ticket as I didn't get any points on my license.
  12. Sorry, not going to leave a good parking lot for another parking lot that doesn't have coffee.
  13. ...but the end result is one ugly, off-proportioned rat rod that couldn't haul a candy bar in the "bed" without losing it in a turn at 20mph. :gay:
  14. Yeah...I'm already over it. I may have to keep nudging Casto for permission to have a coffee truck for one day a week for 3 hours. I'll wait a bit to ask them...
  15. I'm a fan of this place just because of the Pink Floyd reference on their FB page. Hmm...may have to go with a monthly or bi-weekly meet during December-March with a few indoor locations around C'bus that serve coffee...Block's Bagels, etc...
  16. Website says that they open at 11am. That's late enough that it won't be a problem. Plus, the lot wraps around the east side of Lennox for a ton more parking.
  17. Wow. That's a clean 5.0L Foxbody convertible. Was watching Roadkill with the Rotsun and I'm reminded of my fancy for Foxbodies...too bad I already have two convertibles
  18. We cannot bring any sort of outside vendors onto Lennox Town Center to sell coffee, etc: it represents a possible conflict with the corporations that are leasing there. For example, if Starbucks found out that Raccoon Coffee was getting access to the lot for free (no rent) to sell coffee, they can sue Casto and JLL into an ugly contract suit that would be no bueno for business/reputation. In addition, we cannot officially court not-for-profits to supply their own coffee and sell it at our event for a fundraiser, because then you open a Pandora's Box for every charity to expect our group to let them in and Casto to give their blessing. It's not a breach of contract; it can just be messy to regulate. Otherwise, I'd be lining up bikini car-washes every weekend for Make-A-Wish
  19. I've got a 2007 Cadillac CTS-V, and would LOVE to source new plastic lenses to swap into my factory headlights. I'm surprised there isn't a more mainstream solution for replacing crazed/cracked plastic headlights. I know baking/removing/reinstalling lights increases opportunity for moisture, but I'd rather deal with that than these ugly, yellow headlights.
  20. I've been the one to manage the venues over the last 9 years. Not a pride thing; just saying that if we have the opportunity to change to a "better" venue, I'm all for it in 2018. Reasons why we're staying at Lennox Town Center: 1) Parking - main lot we use is over 400 spots, with very low overlap of business parking for the companies using the lot as well. 2) Centrally-located - We're near downtown, OSU, 315...seriously, how much closer can we get to the heart of Columbus without charging a parking fee for 400+ cars? 3) Ownership buy-in - here's the big one: for a group, not sponsored by a business, we have permission by a commercial property management group to use a lot every week. As a banker of 15 years, I don't know how else we could make this work. Again, if someone knows of a guy I need to call to make the above 3 factors still work, but with the addition of a coffee house/truck on a weekly basis year-round, I'M ALL EARS.
  21. Strong manufacturing and military population as well. Lotta guys that like their toys.
