  1. I'm wondering if it was more difficult going the BMW V8 route, than a Ford5.0L or LSx route? I realize it's BMW in a BMW chassis, but it wasn't like wiring harnesses just plugged in, right? Still a lot of customizing to get that platform together.
  2. I dont have a home station, but someone within an 1/8th of a mile of my house has a Weather Underground station. Love WUnderground.
  3. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/7166519/Naked-man-jumps-into-a-zoos-LION-enclosure-in-bizarre-suicide-bid-and-survives.html So...this 20-yo mental-midget jumps into a lion's den, gets mauled and survives...BUT THE LIONS ARE BOTH PUT DOWN. I fully understand that conventional wisdom is captive predators that get a taste of prey are difficult to keep in captivity...but, my God, I truly mourn the animals that died as a result of the actions of this guy. Going to go outside and enjoy this sunny day to try and forget this one.
  4. Happy 50th episode, Roadkill - and I thank you.
  5. This thread is full of win/lols. RIP everlight44 - we hardly knew ye. Tombstone will read "novice shadetree electrician"
  6. I passed one driving slowly in the left lane on I-71. I like the idea of the GCSRT8, but would it be a DD? I'd guess the fuel economy would be abysmal.
  7. Add it to the other list of commonalities: - Great taste in cars - Great taste in wimmenz - Great looks - Slightly above average intelligence... Schweet. Happy F**king Birthday to me indeed. *kissyface*
  8. If it's anything like the 3-series AWD...it's a pain to get it lowered and only leads to powertrain trouble down the road.
  9. That thing is awesome. #SERIOUS Do eet.
  10. Admittedly, I enjoyed reading the discourse above between Tim and Kerry. I thought some good points were brought up by both sides, and I appreciate the civil tone. The one thing that still stands out in my mind, though.... auto lol. :gabe: I walk by a car I know came with a stick-shift option, and I look in the window at the center console. I see an automatic stalk shoved in "PARK", or I see some stupid BMW lever-thingy that looks like someone superglued a keyfob to the console? Worse yet, it's a Ferrari or Lambo and there's no stalk in between the seats, like some EUNUCH??? Part of me goes "lol". I've driven and ridden in a LOT of modern performance automatics/DSGs (Thanks, BMW Performance Driving School!) and I still enjoy wringing out a stick. Man has made some impressive engineering accomplishments in moving cars and boats, yet some people still sail, row, or bike where they want to go or justforthefunofit.
  11. LOL. Those wheels say "Too much money spent because of a Pep Boys employee recommendation".
  12. Auto lol. As I watch Petrolicious and other YouToob car vids, I realize that I'm going to have to make sure the majority of my fleet stays old-skool to keep my stick-shift...and I'm perfectly fine with that. If I'm going to get a shifter-less car in the next 10 years, it's going to be a TESLA or BMW i3/i8.:thumbup: You can throw a 12-speed automatic behind a gas engine and it's still going to be within 10% MPGs of it's 2010 counterpart. 300-mile range electric car FTW.
  13. This thread makes me want that '05 in Mass I posted...
  14. I love a cheap Fox-body...but in casual searching it seems like you get a better platform on New Edge Mustangs ('00 to '04). Better choice of cars, just as customizable with aftermarket parts. Any thoughts on branching out the search? http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/attachments/4-6l-talk/158656d1340636262-post-pictures-99-04-lowered-stangs-cruise-nite-004.jpg
  15. Dayum. Someone took care of that thing! I like the GNX/GSX treatment...
  16. Now...THIS is a blogger I like! Partly because he's putting a V8 in an E36 M3...but I love the self-deprecating humor as well. His descriptions of his thoughts as a car guy throughout this project resonated with my own experiences with rusty junk, Craigslist, etc. Great 5-part project here... http://oppositelock.kinja.com/e36-v8-build-part-5-donor-teardown-or-warning-mech-1776874917
  17. 98k miles on our 2010, and as I look at the Odizzle above I can't imagine keeping it that clean. The thing just grows dents and scraped bumper corners. Still drives awesome so I don't worry about body rash...just keep it clean and maintained. Also, an older Mazda MPV is another great van option. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mazda-MPV-/311568587326?forcerrptr=true&hash=item488aef5a3e:g:d1wAAOSwZetXOaj~&item=311568587326
  18. I don't mind Ohio insects anymore, after reading this article: http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2016/05/14/bee-swarm-concord/ Killer bees... EFF. DAT. SHIZZNIT.:no::no:
  19. The thing that does strike me though . . . The world - and especially in our early development as an industrialized society - used to place a much higher regard towards people that were truly gifted at a skill or trade. It's sad that we've devolved into such a consumer-driven and disposable society. I agree with your comments above, gents - but part of me does wistfully think of the tradesmen of our past that took great pride in truly going above and beyond to make something right.
  20. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331854039091?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true 2005, 71k miles, 1-owner, great shape. 4L V6, 6-SPEED MANUAL...
  21. Augh!!!! Those wheels need CENTER CAPS! Seriously, that's a damn impressive vid. Wonder what it's putting down from a Cobb tuner and E85 fuel?
