  1. Is it me, or does everyone else think the reset time for that contraption would be ridic? After the Peugeot pulls the raft across the lake, does someone have to bring it all the way back over to the ramp side?
  2. Hey, guys...a coworker has a 2009 Hyundai Genesis sedan with the 4.6L V8. After 115k miles, it stalled out and has had some really bizarre electrical/sensor issues come up in the last few months. It's been in and out of the shop for awhile, and now they are saying it's the: "main wiring harness with the FAM and junction boxes". He said some Hyundai/KIA genius at the dealership says the pins/wires break on these cars and the whole wiring harness is just easier to replace than try to find the bad connection. New Price? $3600 Does anyone have a source (aside from car-part.com) for a new/used main wiring harness? Thank you!
  3. #seesomethingsaysomething Dear Sweet Little Baby Jesus, Thank you for the blessings you've bestowed upon my family and myself. Please deliver me from a future where I need to take a wet dump so badly that I have to slam it down in a Home Depot bathroom. Amen.
  4. BTW, those new Caprice's are BIIIIIG cars. Should be all the 5-6 passenger, all-the-stuff-you-need vehicle for a roadtrip!
  5. I'm with Ben: for as private as we think CR is, it's at least much less public than Facebook. I like the openness and sharing on CR. Keep it coming. Besides, it's kinda car-related.
  6. Acura NSX just beat the Viper ACR's time up Pike's Peak by 10 seconds. :gabe:
  7. I hear what you guys are saying about Impala/Malibu but this is only 4 years old... I'm not saying the car is that incredible, but it is the right chassis and pretty unique. Show me a 2012 V8 RWD anything with sub-100k miles on it for less than $13k...
  8. Until the next presidential administration decides that real-estate tax loopholes are un-American, you can't go wrong with R/E. (and I mean that half-jokingly, because neither Dem nor GOP would touch interest deductions or R/E expense write-offs). Stay strong financially - as best as you can - and other opportunities will come up.
  9. I may have to throw down against you guys. My son has a C7 Corvette that is already pretty fast...needs this mod...
  10. Dude, the ACR is a fucking beast. The records it holds are unbelievable.
  11. Mmmmm...Viper. I'd rock a clownshoe.
  12. http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2016/06/24/brexit-could-be-a-boon-for-lawyers/ Good time for a firm to be advising clients who have EU/UK business exposure...
  13. Brandon, do you have room for 2 cars? Get a DD and a C5 IMO... I drove my C4 Corvette in the winter with A/S tires...really wasn't an issue. Jalopnik featured a C5 Corvette that just tripped 700k miles. They really are great DD platforms. If you got a C5, then you could get a sedan/wagon/ext cab truck to do bad-weather/hauling duties.
  14. Still waiting for the Brothers Farkas to expound on how I'll hate the manual valves (respek their knowledge), but to share some of my thoughts: - Most of my research showed the cheapest/simplest/most reliable air setup involves manual valves - This will be my first air ride setup. - Once the system works, if I need to make upgrades to air lines/air management, I'll be happy to do that. Already I can see that I may upgrade the 5gal tank to a larger capacity aluminum tank at some point soon. - If an air-ride system makes the car worth a bit more as a finished product, might try to flip it and start another platform. Excited about getting the components! Going to get the Lincoln up in the air this weekend to start measuring.
  15. Can we not all agree that the studio had no clue TFATF would take off like it did? You guys making comments about the cars really being able to do what they did with the owners that the movie said owned them...lol. Even the people making the movie didn't think any of it would be that relevant down the road!
  16. Anyone wanting a good primer on BREXIT: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-06-24/a-quick-guide-to-brexit-and-beyond
  17. I was also making a similar correlation, not that I am a fan of Trump as a presidential candidate: 1) People strongly dislike the status quo. 2) It is not "popular" to be against it - or have never been a fan in the first place. 3) Don't Ask/Don't Tell: if someone does poll you...lie about your stance. On that note, I tell all my lib friends I'm voting for Hillary.
  18. Indeed. I'm surprised with the "stay" vote polling at 55% last week.
  19. Curious why I'm going to hate the manual valves? FWIW, this is not a daily driver. If it sees 3 events a week that will be a lot.

Welcome to the site! Pics of the Mustang. Yes, V6 LOL...but if you're going to base-engine something, at least it's RWD and a coupe with a stick shift. It IS a stick shift, amirite???
  21. Also, it's fun to talk about budget-build engines for power, but none of that matters ultimately without the rest of the powertrain holding it together. You can have a 5.3 making big boot, but if you have a $250 T5 manual trans it's gonna grenade. Having a built T56 or more is going to be $2500 easily. :/ EDIT: LOL, just saw Tim's comment above. If I ever throw a V8 in my BMW E36, there's nobility in keeping the budget at 300-350hp and a T5 behind it for cheapness.
  22. Love Engine Masters. I think that too. Freiburger and Steve jaw away while Robert Duvall disputes whatever they think. It was Hot Rod Magazine. That was one of the best articles I've read in recent memory. "Hey! We've got a ChinaBay turbo for $200. We have a junkyard 5.3L. Let's make some power! Holy shit, this turbo has made over 200 passes and it's still holding up! HOLY SHIT, WE JUST MADE 1100HP. HOO-LEE SHEE-IT, WE JUST CRACKED OPEN THE LONGBLOCK AND FOUND OUT IT'S A 4.8 LITER!!!1!1"
  23. Realistically, with the big tires, I probably won't lay frame. My goal first is adjustability. Second is to get the center of the wire wheel knock-offs to line up with the beltline of the car. That would be about 6 - 8" of drop from the current ride height.
  24. Be Kerry, have 4+ bikes in 2 states for one rider. Cura te ipsum.
