  1. Okay here's the deal -- you have good choices everywhere except the cpu and vid card (and m/b but I'm biased and do not like Gigabyte) -- as the others have said, it is a waste of cash in the AMD market right now. I've currently got a 5000+ Black Edition which is a great bang for your buck cpu, but if you're not planning frequent upgrades like me, get the E8400 or Q6600. As for the video card, get the 8800 GT. It will stomp the 9600 GT. Also, I'm not sure how into overclocking you are, but if you are, see if Zalman makes a cooler for the 8800 GT. I usually watercool my cards, but heard good things about it, so I just got done putting on the VF1000 w/ ramsink package on my 8800 GTX on Friday and this thing is overclocking like mad (still finding max o/c), but here are some pics of the cooler (does a very nice job) (I added the 2 80mm fans for active cooling on the ram, i/o chipset, and voltage regulators, which is not needed if you're not getting crazy). Good luck in your build. http://home.columbus.rr.com/razor/Vid%20Card/IMG_0016%20(Large).JPG http://home.columbus.rr.com/razor/Vid%20Card/IMG_0018%20(Large).JPG http://home.columbus.rr.com/razor/Vid%20Card/IMG_0021%20(Large).JPG
  2. Truly was a very good read. Good paragraph at the end that truly sums Hillary up pretty good. This line is a very accurate statement on why she will never get my vote: "his tax dollars that she wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves." I'd say 90-95% of that article I'd stand behind solidly. The thing that really pisses me off about this upcoming election is that AGAIN, we have no good choices. We're going to have McCain on one hand who is a lobbyist pandering mofo, illegal immigration advocate, and seems to want us to invade every country possible in his lifetime so we can all get drafted and fight for a war that doesn't represent the mainstream American's values, and then there's Hillary or Barrack...the article sums up Hillary nicely. Barrack isn't much better. What do you guys think?

    Mitt Quits !

Yep, I hope Paul runs as an Independent/Libertarian. Even if he doesn't win, I'd like to have a sound conscience knowing I voted for the candidate I feel is best for this country. I'll be voting for him in the primary no matter what the polls say.

    Mitt Quits !

I was sad to see that news today. He would've been my 2nd choice after Ron Paul. McCain...hmm...only way I'd vote for him is if Clinton got the Dem Nomination and no decent independent runs.
  5. You better re-register. After all that campaigning you've done for Paul, you better freakin' vote for him.
  6. If you are registered independent (unafilliated), then you won't be able to vote. Ohio has a closed primary meaning you have be registered as a member of whichever party's primary you're wanting to vote for. I'm voting for Ron Paul, so I have to be registered Republican, which I am (even though I'm truly independent). Go here and check if you're not sure if you're registered or what you're registered as: http://vote.franklincountyohio.gov/boe/voter/index.aspx If you want to vote in the primary, make sure you post-mark your registration by Feb 5. Ohio's primary is March 5.
  7. I can't remember if I registered republican or independent...is there a way to check without GOING anywhere? Thanks for posting this!
  8. Agreed. I was happy when he dropped...the debate last night was easier to watch without wasting time on his responses. I sure wish they'd give Ron Paul some more questions though.
  9. Just a CRT 19'' until it breaks. 52'' HD in the living room.
  10. If you are ever willing to come down in price, I'll give $50 for it. Just PM me and we'll do this.
  11. G/f and I are planning to go to Ashby Cabins sometime this spring -- anyone been there? Are the roads back to the cabin too jacked up to take a Vette? I looked at some pics and they had a nice cement pad outside the cabins so that part looked good for parking, but if it's really uneven I probably should take the beater...
  12. Wow, that Atlantis location looks really nice...time to do some serious research. I'm really itching to get out of here for atleast a week.
  13. Never been drunk, never smoked, never done any drugs. I have a beer or two every now and then, never enough to feel it.
  14. You sir, are the man. Thanks for posting this.
  15. Quite frequently, actually. See the crappy thing is that they will probably just print the money to pay the American people which will just further reduce the value of the dollar.
  16. Picks up quite a bit actually. I can't even count how many machines it's cleaned up at work from users going out and surfing god knows what sites.
  17. She's a disaster. She should be put in jail for a lot longer than that. When she kills somebody's wife, father, brother, mother, sister, child, etc. the judge that let her get off on 84 minutes of jailtime, should be fucking hanged.
  18. Never heard of or seen that before on any of my machines or the machines at the company I do support at -- you might download Spybot Search & Destroy just to ensure your system is clean from that standpoint. It's free.
  19. ...Or maybe spend a tad more on top of that and grab a whole new mainboard. I'm sure you can find a $40-50 name-brand board out there with onboard audio, video, networking.
  20. I had trouble a long time ago with a built-in AC97 card and had to acquire new drivers as the CD drivers wouldn't work. Go to the site and look up the exact model of your mainboard and they should have all the chipset, audio, video, and network drivers (latest) available for download. Beyond that it sounds like it's a not so versatile audio card and you may need to just spend $20-30 and get an add-in PCI card like a Creative Sound Blaster.
  21. You might try heading to the mainboard manufacturer website to see if there is a newer driver. I've never heard of Essex before -- you're running XP SP2?
